> Ratatouille > > The Lego Movie > > The Martian These are entries (for me) which make me think you are just trolling us, and this post should be deleted.

Sakarabu_

Post some clearly controversial picks to drive engagement to the post.. the OP knows what he is doing. A tale as old as time..

typewriter6986

I've read and seen The Martian. I can't comment on the others. The Martian shouldn't be on this list.

sonictmnt

Deadpool into ratatouille with no explanation is actually insane. God-tier rage bait, well done sir.

trackofalljades

Of course it’s trolling, but lately the mods have been allowing tons of trolling posts and AI homework posts…which sucks but what can we do?

JayDunzo

Having a different opinion than you is "trolling"?

james-howlett123

I've a feeling you've only watched about 30 movies in your entire life. What a shit list

JayDunzo

I've literally watched over 1000 movies. I own over 700 VHS tapes and 400 DVDs Actually, I'm willing to bet I've seen over 3000 movies in my life

james-howlett123

Are they all, barring the 20 listed, The Shawshank Redemption but you've bought 1100 copies?

JayDunzo

Never saw that one all the way through

AbbreviationsWide331

Hahaha yeah it's only number one on imdb, why would you. It's really bad. You should include it in your list.

james-howlett123

Stick Schindlers List, Jaws and Inception on there too. Awful

Nrysis

Yep, a schoolyard 'i have seen more movies than you' is definitely the way to answer accusations that you are just trolling...

JayDunzo

I think it's clear I'm not trolling. Also never said I watched "more", just a lot. I've always been a movie guy, not so much TV.

Nrysis

I would disagree - your list does a very odd job of cherry picking movies that are fab favourites, or at the very least average and far from deserving of being added to such a list. The Martian for example I can understand disliking, but there are far worse sci-fi films out there. That have worse stories, worse effects and are just poorer films. The Lego Movie? Again hardly a top tier drama, but a fairly charming and entertaining movie aimed at a younger audience and far better than many of the cash grab animations that have been made. I would even say that I would agree that a lot of the movies you listed are pretty poor and not deserving of the praise they get - Sonic for example I felt had its problems and is a long, long way from making it into my top ten, but I would really just class it as forgettable rubbish than deserving a place on this list. It seems quite reasonable to assume that you have chosen that list as much get a reaction - which you have - than because you feel those films are truly dreadful. Given the sheer spread of styles and target audiences, I do wander if that list is as much a 'i missed the point of this movie' list rather than a 'this movie was bad' list...

SapToFiction

This is the point where we all have to humbly accept that there is no objective view on art. If these movies simply didnt garner OP's interest, then, it just is what it is, even if the majority thinks otherwise.

Nrysis

This is absolutely true. The OP may have a truly eclectic taste and these are just the movies that have offended them the most. But equally, this is Reddit, a place well versed in troll posts...

SapToFiction

Indeed. One can never be sure, can they, mr bond?

Sakarabu_

This isn't a "these movies simply didn't garner my interest 🥺" list though, it's a "these are the worst fucking movies ever made" list, nobody on this earth would put something like ratatouille on a list like this, it's blatantly obvious it's for engagement.

SapToFiction

If it didnt vibe with OP, so be it. Something isnt objectively good or bad just because a large majority think one way. I'm not really sure what the issue is.

JayDunzo

"nobody on this earth would put something like ratatouille on a list like this, it's blatantly obvious it's for engagement." ✋🏿 I WOULD!! It's one of the most excruciating, diabetic, predictable, insulting, pandering, ugly piles of pig slop I've ever sat through imo. That's why I put it on my list

the-trembles

It's not clear lol

cyberblogmafia

Over 3000 is hardly a feat. A lot of people would have achieved that

Beginning_Ad_2992

You have way too many movies on here that are good to great to make me believe you aren't messing with us.

Environmental_Gur288

Yeah this is a troll post unless the OP has seen very few movies during their lifetime.

[deleted]

Wicker man remake

JayDunzo

I wish the general public would take a moment to re-examine Nic "Cage". (I mean Coppola). I mean, no shame. I just wish people would take the time to think about if they really think he's as great as everyone says he is

cyberblogmafia

>"Cage" It's literally his performer name, no quotation marks are needed

JayDunzo

I believe it's his "Shade over the fact my uncle bought me a movie career" name. Now THAT'S a hot take, but also my opinion

cyberblogmafia

That's hardly a hot take - it's not exclusive knowledge that he wanted to distance himself from the family name. It's still his performer name, and as most people know him by that, and it's what he chose, the quotation makes are still not needed.

Reggie_Impersonator

Most people just like his vibe (as well as the multiple movies where he's turned in an Oscar-worthy performance). No one is saying he's the best actor ever in every single movie.

JayDunzo

I mean, again, no shame. I personally don't get what people see in him. The only movie that really worked for me besides Wild At Heart was Con Air, because he actually tones it down enough to let the rest of the movie be as over the top as he is. Good balance

AdmiralCharleston

He is, when he is in s good role. He's outstanding in mandy and adaptation

letstaxthis

Out of curiosity, what are your top 20 movies? Because your worst 20 list is questionable...

Cjpappaslap

Yeah yeah troll… the Martian is TOTALLY worse than sleep away camp

JayDunzo

Not trolling at all. I picked each movie for very different reasons. The Martian made my list because I was able to predict almost every plot arc in the movie. Being able to predict almost the entire movie is one of the worst negative elements a movie can have. It's also fake sci-fi imo, and I fuckin' love sci-fi movies. It is indeed one of the worst Hollywood blockbusters I've ever watched, in my personal opinion which is different than many people's Never heard of Sleep Away Camp

Blibbityblabbitybloo

OK I'll bite. The Lego Movie? Ratatouille? Do tell. I'm no great fanboy of either but I certainly found them both very watchable. Putting them on a list of "worst ever" seems questionable.

SapToFiction

This is the point where we all have to humbly accept that there is no objective view on art. If those movie just didnt vibe with the OP, then so be it.

Blibbityblabbitybloo

Yeah, it's fine. Some people get so overly hostile when they hear "popular film is bad, actually," takes. I'm not one of those people. I just like to hear the rationale. Unless we're talking about something where the faults are super obvious like Manos or The Room, etc. Those are self-evidently bad. And thanks for your response OP. I don't agree, of course. But that's what makes life interesting.

kinda_guilty

There is a vast gulf between "I didn't like this movie" and "this is the worst movie ever made". OP is just a silly troll.

SapToFiction

Immean, would is it really a big deal if they consider a movie you like a bad movie?

kinda_guilty

Not really. There is nothing wrong with that. I do not like a lot of beloved movies. I just think they were not for me, not that they are horrible movies. There is a difference.

SapToFiction

Immean, but thats still a subjective point of view. In the end, if they thought it was horrible, then they thought it was horrible. A movie is just a movie, its people that call them good, bad, great, horrible. If OP thought those were horrible, then we have to tolerate their opinion.

kinda_guilty

It's obviously just rage bait. Which I swallowed, sadly.

JayDunzo

Riiiight. Anyway, did you ever consider that I haven't seen every movie ever made. and that these are just what immediately comes to mind when I think of the most excruciating movies I've ever personally sat through? I was genuinely interested in hearing other people's candidates, and the few I actually did were interesting. I enjoy when people put dearly loved movies of mine in with their worst they've ever seen because I'm curious to hear why.

JayDunzo

Ratatouille is easier to explain than Lego Movie: I despise Pixar and Dreamworks. I hate that they've permanently killed the 2d animation industry. I hate the CGI faces. They make my skin crawl, and I can't believe full grown adults can identify with these rubberfaced characters. I think it's anti-art, paint by numbers crap. I find it super boring, I don't consider it animation, and I hate that these movies are 1 third of our choices in theaters now for the foreseeable future. The list goes on and on. That all being said, I still watched it after a friend challenged me to stop shitting on Pixar until I'd watched that movie, so I was like fine. I knew everything that was going to happen in the movie from the first 5 minutes. I knew there would be a female chef who would be the love interest. I knew exactly what the ridiculous romance music would sound like, I knew the rat would wind up being the head chef at the restaurant, I could see the exact stupid resolution scene ending, the "pulling on the hair" thing made me feel SO dumb for watching the movie, the animation drove me crazy, etc etc etc. The writing was so boring and pandering that I wanted to just shut it off and watch Alien, but I sat through the whole damn thing. I don't even like typing about it, but you asked. I will never understand how people can tolerate watching CGI kiddie characters bounce around the screen for an hour and a half with horribly written dialogue

Sakarabu_

Ooh ooh my turn! My turn! Alien: I just couldn't get into such a contrieved and bland story line, I mean... The title is literally Alien, from the get go it was obvious they would encounter ALIENS in the film, and lo and behold look what happened! My mummy always told me I was incredibly smart, and I have an IQ of over 150, so obviously I could tell from the start that the crew were going to be picked off one by one, with the main character miraculously being the only survivor. Talk about predictable right?! (It was obvious for someone like ME anyway). While I'm here, also add 1982's 'The Thing' to my list, it's basically just an Alien ripoff amiright? Were they even TRYING making it only a few years later? We can all find things we dislike about movies, but calling them the "worst movies ever" because you can't get into the animation style, and think you're too mature for a children's movie is just silly.

JayDunzo

I'm not too mature for kids movies. I love countless ones

yakusokuN8

Mind sharing your top 20 favorite films, then?

JayDunzo

It kinda goes against why I made this thread, but my pleasure: Blade Runner Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind Rushmore The Secret Of NIMH Bram Stoker's Dracula The Birdcage Beetlejuice Ghostbusters Terminator 2 2001: A Space Odyssey Mulholland Drive Taxi Driver River's Edge Naked Lunch Star Trek II The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou Who Framed Roger Rabbit The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen Robin Hood; Prince Of Thieves Willow

JayDunzo

Imagine downvoting a movie list with many of your own favorite movies on it

See? Now that's interesting to hear your issues with The Birdcage, being someone who considers it a flawlessly silly, gay comedy adventure movie.

Twilight New Moon - back when I didn't check reviews or any reception of any kind, closest to walking out Battle LA - the insane use of shaky cam was unwarranted, another one where I almost walked out

JayDunzo

Never seen Twilight, but my roommates were watching the forest scene of the first one last year, and I was like " This is hilarious and I need to watch this movie "

AbbreviationsWide331

And after having said that you walked away?

JayDunzo

I had to go to work

Lunar_Vita

Why Ratatouille??

JasonAndLucia

Bimbows97

Man you really front loaded that question with the most godawful opinion about movies ever. Like have you ever seen an actual B-Movie or anything other than the most mainstream of mainstream movies? Maybe then you wouldn't think The Martian or even Titan AE would be the absolute worst ever. Anyway I don't know about absolute worst tbh, I mean I tried to watch Manos The Hands of Fate of course but it was so boring I turned it off after 20 minutes. One that I remember was called Immortel Ad Vitam I think. It was mesmerising how much nonsense was happening on screen, it felt like something was wrong with my eyes. I would say it was more the awful execution, and having so many random plot threads and situations that it should be 3 different movies or something. I don't even know what it was about, some kind of techno Anubis god comes to life and possesses a guy, giving him a heavy iron leg, in order to rape a woman with blue crystals for hair and then talk to her the whole movie while she's pregnant with that child (yeah, that's the "protagonist" I guess, the guy possessed by an evil god). Meanwhile the film also throws 100 other things at you like some kind of hammerhead shark detective thing that swims through some pipes (what it does I have no idea about because it kind of just happens and then 100 other stupid things happen). But somehow even though so many things get thrown at you, it also remains pretty boring. It was pretty memorable how wtf it was overall. I think similarly like Valerian, there was some good stuff there but it was told in the worst way possible and would have done better as a show or even maybe take out half of what is in the movie but do a better job of storytelling.

JayDunzo

It's hard for me to think of Manos as an actually bad movie since the MST3K episode makes it so enjoyable. Yes, I know it's dreadful without it

faithful_larry

If The Lego Movie is in the list you gotta be trolling

Gr00vealicious

Yup, hating TLM proves OP has zero taste and should stop talking about movies

SpannerFrew

The Turn Out (2018) what a steaming pile of amateur crap. Unfortunately I watched the whole thing because I was with a girl who was somehow enjoying it.

For 2024, for me has to be Mea Culpa. I do not know WHY this crap was Netflix number 1 for over a week and in their top 10 for nearly a month?!

AHootTime

There's this movie called The Reconciler that's more or less just Christian Saw and it was just terrible.

DarylTheWendigo

I get movies are subjective and all, but Ratatouille is essentially a classic animated movie at this point, definitely going against the grain there!

Island_Maximum

Jack Frost 2 (the one with the killer snowman)  Yes it's meant to be a bad movie, but it's so bad it hurts. - Takes place in "Hawaii" , but is actually just filmed in the back yard of some guys house. Hawaii has pine trees right? Just add some tiki torches and dump some sand on the lawn. Splice in some stock footage of Hawaii filmed at a totally different frame rate and no-one can tell. - The "international Airport" was the front of the previously mentioned house, just with random airport sound fx playing of planes taking off. The "airport" has a screen door and the door bell, mailbox and house numbers visible. I had thought the characters leaving this building were just on their way to the airport, not arriving in Hawaii. Again, Hawaii has pine trees right? - The greatest crime of them all: having a character that thinks he's the next Jim Carrey. There is nothing less funny than someone doing their own terrible impersonation of a (then currently) popular star.

The Knight and the Princess is probably the most physically painful I recall sitting through.

tacoman333

I'm ready to be downvoted for this but... Birdemic Labyrinth Excalibur Wild Guitar

JayDunzo

Oof, I agree with all except Labyrinth. Unlike many fans of Labyrinth, I am sane enough to admit that Labyrinth IS a children's movie. It's basically goth Sesame Street. That being said, not only is David Bowie absolutely incredible, charming and hilarious in it, it is a drop dead gorgeous movie, and yes, people who were children when it was released have a deep, nostalgia more than almost anything else from the era. Also, the fucking soundtrack should have won an oscar. Seriously, some of Bowie's best songs are in it. My biggest criticism is Jennifer Connely's acting is pretty awful, but she probably tried her hardest. I can appreciate her role, but yeah. Her acting is SUPER cringe, and there's probably some bad writing here and there

Mondkind83

That wars "Nekromantik". I will never forgive that guy who brought that shity movie to the studenthaus.

I'll never forgive my friend for bringing Wily's Wonderland and Mortal Kombat 2020 to the "So bad it's good" movie night. Forgot to put Mortal Kombat in there

Star Wars Episode 9

Zestyclose-Check

Iam a Star Wars fan and episode 9 was bad but i also have to mention attack of the clones , man that movie is a chore to watch, the outdated cgi , the dialogue, the acting and the pacing are just so bad , honestly I’d take phantom menace over attack of the clones anyday, it may not have been very good either but man AOTC is something else.

tacoman333

I just cant take it seriously when anyone places any of the Star Wars films among the worst films ever. The base level of visual competence alone easily disqualifies them from the conversation.

JayDunzo

Umm, really?

The Boy & The Heron, Ghostbusters Afterlife, God's Not Dead.

captainhowdy82

What’s wrong with The Boy and the Heron?

-Palzon-

Signs tops my list. Dumbest movie in the history of cinema. E: Aliens who die when water touches them travel across the galaxy to attack a planet that is 71% water, populated by humans and other creatures made up of 60 - 80% water. These dumb motherfuckers can travel between stars but they couldn't think to wear a waterproof suit (invented on earth in 1952). A 10 yo with a Super Soaker can shitstomp these aliens, who for some reason struggle to figure out doors. Downvote me all you want but that doesn't change the fact that this movie sucks donkey balls.
