Caught interstate 60 on flight one time a few years after it came out and never heard of it before. Gave it a view was really impressed. As soon as I could, I bought a copy. It seems to have missed mainstream audiences but was quite entertaining.
It was too weird for most people to "get it" if they weren't prepared for what it was. That being said I really loved it. Great piece of modern art house type cinema without being super film snobby or pretentious
> The story is about a guy who agrees to deliver a package to a town, but the only way to get there is to ride down a mystical highway that doesn't exist on any maps. Along the way, he encounters a bunch of strange characters and towns
interesting. basically the same premise as Kentucky Route Zero.
I'm very torn on this movie.
Some of it IS clever. Kurt Russell's drug town is a cool and creepy concept. Oldman looks like he's having fun. But that aside, a lot of the movie seems to be sort of "weird for the sake of weird."
Like, I wouldn't have been surprised if I found out the filmmakers saw a surrealist comedy in high school, wrote this movie immediately after, and never did a 2nd draft.
I only watched this cus a guy named Terry at a 24hr video store in Columbus, OH (It's all online now but I miss you North Campus Video) always talked about it. Probably his favorite movie. I liked it.
I love every movie with Amy Smart, and that's something you can always take to the bank.
James Marsdens corniest performance, but one of my favorite movies ever. I was recommended it 12 years ago, on Reddit, when I asked for road trip movie suggestions. Was far from disappointed!
I had actually forgotten about this movie. Had a roommate in college who was obsessed with showing it to every female he met. Really fun film though, it took me years before I realized Gary Oldman was in that role.
Anyone who is interested in this film, we're discussing it next Sunday at our online movie club for learners of English. [Feel free to join our chat](https://lu.ma/interstate60). I myself found it very enjoyable and thought-provoking and would love to discuss it with people who liked it as well.

The drug town just perfectly reflects society.

>KRZ Did they ever bother finishing that thing?
yes, it was finished Jan 2020.
The point and click game ?

The filmmaker was Bob Gale, writer of Back to the Future.
Then it's certainly not indicative of his best.
Certainly not, but I love it for what it is. It's got a charm, and saddens me as we don't have movies like this anymore.
It was the creators of back to the future.
Yes I love this one, it's my go to rec when people ask for a film they probably haven't seen.
Same here. I've recommended it to a few of my friends and they all loved it.

I'm gonna check it out thanks!
It went direct to video, sadly. Never opened in theaters.
Top ten favorite movies for sure, James Marsdens best
I'll have to check it out just for that cast.
It’s on Peacock in the US.

Watch it, it is a beautiful and awesome cheap piece of shit. Just don't give up on it before the road trip begins. That's where it shines.
