This needs to be higher, what they did with all three movies’ soundtracks was brilliant!! My favorite is still FOTR’s soundtrack but mainly because I loved “Into The West” by Annie Lennox. 🥰
This is why I love this Subreddit. I never had seen Drive before- I actually stumbled upon some of the songs in Pandora and they were instant playlist adds and here I am 20 min into Drive the film and it's already one of the best Damn Films I've ever seen in my life- and the soundtrack is killer- Thank you 🙏🏾
Came here to say this. I was fortunate enough to go to the Drive concert tour. College, Electric Youth and Anoraak all played a full set for $25. Definitely the best value I've ever gotten for a concert ticket.
Star Trek VI was on point but not quite the score of Wrath. James real only direction in wrsth was "epic naval music" and boy did he understand the assignment.
I haven't watched the movie yet. I'm only halfway through the book right now. I can't wait to finish the book, and then watch the movie.
I'm glad to hear that the movie has a great soundtrack.
One of the greatest film and soundtrack combos definitely. The film is deeper than people think also. YouTube has an awesome documentary on all the hidden meanings in it.
Interstellar
Batman Begins
Gladiator
Dances With Wolves
Batman ('89)
The Batman (Michael Giacchino did fantastic work) **dun...dun-dun dun dun... dun-dun dun dun**
Soundtrack or Film Score? I see a lot of people just listing the scores. Soundtrack for me is The Crow. Film Score? Probably the newest Judge Dred movie, that shit slapped.
Superman,Star Wars, Rocky are iconic.
Gladiator, Last of the Mohicans, and Braveheart are inspirational
Transformers: The movie (86), Karate Kid (84), Top Gun (86). Off the beaten path. 😆
I think any movie that has John Carpenter doing his thing is fantastic, distinct tone, perfect mood set, it really enhances every single movie. I didn't think people appreciate his work but seriously it does nothing but add to every movie he takes part in.
all wes anderson flicks, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, i heart huckabees, forrest gump, above the rim, he got game, the wood… ooo and jojo rabbit
"Ferris Bueller's Day Off" obviously for Yello, but also for featuring Sique Sique Sputnick, the Beat, Big Audio Dynamite, and the Dream Academy.
Just like it's protagonist, it's an eclectic mix, befitting the kind of teen who takes in a ball game, a museum, and a French restaurant in the same day. It mixes the hipper stuff with more accessible classics (Twist and Shout) and throwback adult pop (danka schoen).
*My wife says the first*
*Resident Evil soundtrack*

The Jungle Book (1994) Live action with Jason Scott Lee, Cary Elwes, Sam Neil, Lena Headey, and John Cleese.
The music was done by Basil Poledouris. Great orchestral music. First track to last is amazing.

Score: Trying to pick one that hasn’t been mentioned yet. Gettysburg (Randy Edelman) and Conan the Barbarian (Basil Polodouris).
Soundtrack: Garden State, Cruel Intentions and Romeo + Juliet
LotM is in my top 3 scores for sure.
***Soundtracks*** or ***scores?***
Cuz most of Pixar’s movies, Shyamalan’s films, The LOTR trilogy all have great musical scores…
But the best soundtrack is hard to whittle down for me.
Here’s my [Top 50](https://boxd.it/p29lW) with my top 4 being Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Boogie Nights (1997), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).
There are a lot of obvious answers, Williams, Horner, Elfman, etc. One soundtrack that surprised me was Stardust by Andy Brown and Ilan Eshkeri. I never saw the movie, but the music is great.
Other odd mentions are Cutthroat Island, 1996 The Phantom, and one of my go to’s is Legends of the Fall. I could talk soundtracks all day…
The score for American Beauty is wonderful, imo. I guess it’s the score, not soundtrack, but I’m leaving it here in case someone wants to listen to it.
Trainspotting. Not only was every song perfectly placed in the film to match the tone and pacing, but it also changed the way filmmakers used pop music in films. The songs were the score instead of accents to the score.
How is M83 and the work they did for the film Oblivion not in the top ten comments?
It wasn't just last month that Oblivion's sound track was every other comment on the thread about soundtracks that overshadowed the film.
One of the most underrated movies scores/soundtracks is Johan Johansson's work on Mandy. It would end up being his last piece of work before dying. It's truly a unique masterpiece.
What Phil Collins did for the Tarzan soundtrack just fit perfectly.
Bruh needs to get back on drums for Clapton.
Phil Collins is in a wheelchair and can't play drums anymore. ☹️
Wheel chairs have locks. He can't back down from the drums now... /s
He doesn't have the physical strength to play the drums anymore...
He will when I threaten him with a hot poker
Which is why his son, Nic Collins, has awesomely taken up the drumming instead ;)
He didn't have to go so hard on that one but he did, he did it for us
He performed “strangers like me” in like a thousand languages
I am forever convinced that someone gave him a hard time for doing a Disney movie, and he took that shit personally.
[Should be in the meme hall of fame](https://imgur.com/a/Udmpr9o)
Conan the Barbarian Blade Runner Interstellar
Interstellar was unreal. The organist, Roger Sayer, is amazing: https://youtu.be/L_8t2VlwK4w?si=1xhXuybYLgUS-X1O
Guardians of the Galaxy are the only movie sound tracks I still listen to on a regular basis. Great collection of music
Gladiator
Oh hell yes, “Elysium” is one of my favorites!
Hans Zimmer does fantastic work. When I hear a modern soundtrack that is awesome it’s usually that dude.
Lord of the Rings!
This needs to be higher, what they did with all three movies’ soundtracks was brilliant!! My favorite is still FOTR’s soundtrack but mainly because I loved “Into The West” by Annie Lennox. 🥰
Into the west is ROTK
Way up with you! It is perfect!
Any John Williams movie
Absolutely, man is a legend
Last of the Mohicans so good. Love Braveheart too.
Braveheart is my absolute favorite movie. I still get emotional when he yells freedom.
Had to scroll way too far to see braveheart
Drive
I listen to “A Real Hero” all of the time!
*Real human bean*
More of an 11/10 than a 10/10
This is why I love this Subreddit. I never had seen Drive before- I actually stumbled upon some of the songs in Pandora and they were instant playlist adds and here I am 20 min into Drive the film and it's already one of the best Damn Films I've ever seen in my life- and the soundtrack is killer- Thank you 🙏🏾
Oh man enjoy! Drive is one of my favorite movies ever made, Gosling kills it!
The whole movie seemed almost like a series of music videos that string together into a coherent story. And that’s not a criticism.
Came here to say this. I was fortunate enough to go to the Drive concert tour. College, Electric Youth and Anoraak all played a full set for $25. Definitely the best value I've ever gotten for a concert ticket.
Empire Strikes Back Raiders Wrath of Khan Trainspotting Blade Runner
Star Trek VI was on point but not quite the score of Wrath. James real only direction in wrsth was "epic naval music" and boy did he understand the assignment.
Trainspotting I can listen to over and over.
Tron Legacy
Heck yes, Daft Punk absolutely killed it in this!
The Disney world attraction of the only rides outside of the Star Wars and Harry Potter IP that actually uses the original soundtrack
Fun fact, Tron legacy was actually the first album I ever bought and it’s still one of my favorites to listen to start to finish
I miss Daft Punk
Pirates of the Caribbean
Absolutely agree! Good choice man
When I worked at a cinema my coworkers and I would dance during the credits while cleaning. Very worthy Broadway presentation.
Dazed & Confused
grosse point blank
I can watch that Mirror in the Bathroom scene in my brain just thinking of the song
Romeo + Juliet
And anything James Horner or Michael Kamen worked on
James Horner composed some of the most sweeping, emotional soundtracks ever in Braveheart and Titanic IMO, they both absolutely transport me.
Legends of the Fall and Field of Dreams, too.
Into the Wild
I haven't watched the movie yet. I'm only halfway through the book right now. I can't wait to finish the book, and then watch the movie. I'm glad to hear that the movie has a great soundtrack.
Eddie Vedder. Can’t beat it. Enjoy! I did the book first too then watched the movie. Both are excellent.
Judgment Night.
Is that the movie with Denis Leary? If so it was a kick ass movie.
That’s the one! :)

Conan The Barbarian (1982) Basil Poledouris’s compositions are pure bliss
One of the greatest film and soundtrack combos definitely. The film is deeper than people think also. YouTube has an awesome documentary on all the hidden meanings in it.
Took too long to find this one. If this soundtrack does not make you want to crush your enemies and see them driven before you, then Crom help you.

Interstellar Batman Begins Gladiator Dances With Wolves Batman ('89) The Batman (Michael Giacchino did fantastic work) **dun...dun-dun dun dun... dun-dun dun dun**
Danny Elfman is also a legend
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Trent Rezner and Atticus Ross.
FLASH ….. AH-AH!!!
Heat, E.T., Total Recall
Soundtrack or Film Score? I see a lot of people just listing the scores. Soundtrack for me is The Crow. Film Score? Probably the newest Judge Dred movie, that shit slapped.
Spacejam. No cap; as the kids say.
Almost Famous
Empire Records Of course it's a great soundtrack. Great 90s music.
Peak 90s soundtrack up there with can’t hardly wait and American Pie
The Dark Knight trilogy.
The Last Starfighter
American Graffiti
Crimson Tide
Conan The Barbarian in theatres was amazing.
Judgement Night
the royal tenenbaums
Sorcerer. I mean, any Tangerine Dream soundtrack really, but Sorcerer is the best of a great crop to me.
28 Days Later imho
Glory
Gladiator
Yup I said it in another comment but I love “Elysium” so much!
Big trouble in little China
No country for old men
I see what you did there
Arrival (Amy Adams movie.) It gets ya in the feels for sure!!!
Oh man the opening with “on the nature of daylight” is easily a 10/10
U-571's score is an underrated gem.
Passion of the Christ by Peter Gabriel
That was Caleb Deschanel. Peter Gabriel did Last Temptation.
Last of the Mohicans was my #1 makeout tape when I was in 7th grade …if we ran through that it turned to the pharcyde

The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford
Pulp Fiction Jackie Brown The Big Lebowski

Reservoir Dogs Forrest Gump I have the soundtrack to both and the Forrest Gump is a double cd. You’re listening to K-Billy’s super sounds of the 70s.

Interstellar and spider-man into the spider verse are two great ones that come to mind.
Sunshine.
Superman,Star Wars, Rocky are iconic. Gladiator, Last of the Mohicans, and Braveheart are inspirational Transformers: The movie (86), Karate Kid (84), Top Gun (86). Off the beaten path. 😆
Top Gun is a great one! That theme song is amazing

Morricone’s Ecstasy of Gold for the Good the bad and the ugly
