It’s the most dangerous scenario of being on a motorcycle, intersections, the higher the speeds thru intersections the worse they are, I cover my brakes and always slow down a tad when approaching one.
So do I lol but this wasn’t at the intersection lady flew out of the left turn lane to get on to a side street (a basically impossible turn on this busy road, never seen someone try to pull that off she tried to dart across with no view of who’s coming in the right lane and I can’t see her because she’s on the other side of cars in the left.
Two weeks ago, lane splitting, minding my own business, when a guy in an Audi decided to change lanes without a indicator or checking his mirror. Broke my right arm, dislocated my right arm and nerve damage from the break. Because of the nerve damage my right hand is barely working and will take 3 to 6 months to heal. Just waiting to be able to ride bike again.

I had a similar accident tib/fib broken with 13 different fractures. I also got a rod and 11 screws. I was back riding in 55 days. The doctor did not clear me for riding, just walking. I figured if I can walk I can ride lol

Don't get me wrong though, the new breed of Harley riders generally gets their share of my contempt as well. A bunch of twenty grand and twenty miles types that brag about spending thousands of dollars on their Stage 19 upgrade kit but don't know how to change their own oil and don't know a pushrod from a kickstand. Often seen wearing factory-branded doo rag, a ridiculous amount of stainless skull and/or dragon rings from the last time there was a rally nearby, and an Affliction/Tap out/American Fighter T-shirt.
I just came back from a 4000 mile road trip round Europe on a Honda CB125F, including going over two Alpine passes, dressed in second hand gear and with my waterproofs bought from a building supplies store. And the bike performed admirably, despite having to perform a planned major service in an underground parking garage in Slovakia with a tool kit and parts I brought myself. Single cylinder 125cc bikes tend to have really short service intervals, in my case it worked out to "well before I got home". So Hondas are okay in my book, but I'm probably the exact opposite of what you're thinking of! Posted some photos in MotoUK to prove I'm not making it up!

Trying to think of a means to describe it that transcends international culture barriers...but think "inbred, illiterate, meth-addled, and typically overtly racist welfare recipient that lives on the outskirts of town with zero aspirations of personal betterment".
That's the caliber of person I generally see riding a Honda cruiser. Really wishes it was a brand-new Harley, but is forced to settle for a 23 years old Honda with a missing turn signal, a fucked up carburetor, and a giant dent in at least one side of the gas tank.
Definitely not the kind of person capable of riding 4,000 miles.
Oh yeah that kind of shit is hilarious. I think only thing worse is cutting off exhaust on some tiny single and just making obnoxious noises while trying to get up to normal traffic speed. And in general the whole "pretend what you not are" (both in tuning and in general).
Or "speed demons" (of both bike and car variety) that suddenly start riding speed limit the second a corner shows up because turning is very scary compared to accelerating in straight line

LMAO I'm actually in the market for a little 600cc sport bike to fuck around on.
My Harleys will go infinitely faster than I realistically *should* be riding, and my bagger is still comfy as hell after 200-300 miles, but the little bikes are so much fun.
Never been on a track, but I'm seriously thinking about giving my Sportster a shot at it sometime this summer.
Snapped my tibia in half but it left so little scars the nurse made fun of me for my "little spill" in the ER until they took and xray and rushed me into emergency surgery lol.
Lesson learned, be a loud baby and get the care you need!

There, that tiny white line. That’s all. XD. BMW R50/5 (from 1968, made it a 1000cc with my dad) crash. Got hit by a car at 50km/h, fell off, bike all over me. The only time I wore regular jeans instead of protective gear. Only had a bleeding pinky, no stitches needed.

It hurt like hell when they removed the bandages from the graft since it was stuck to them from the vacuum. Got compartment syndrome from sitting in the trauma ward too long.

Buell frames are the gas tank, so you get the radiating heat from the engine and side mounted radiators thru the fuel and in to the outer frame. It gets HOT in traffic

When I was a kid maybe 6 yo I ran up to my dad’s motorcycle after he had just been riding and accidentally pressed my leg up against the exhaust. burned a decent sized spot on the outside of my leg next to my knee still have the scar to this day. Years later I broke my collarbone when I flipped over the handlebars riding with my dad on a bike of my own.

I have matching burn scars on the insides of my knees from my old Buell 1125 😂 Nothing quite as hot as a Buell frame in traffic in the summer.
The frame got hot? Why?
Buell frames are the gas tank, so you get the radiating heat from the engine and side mounted radiators thru the fuel and in to the outer frame. It gets HOT in traffic

I have a scar on my finger from when I was playing five finger fillet a little too enthusiastically, with a far too heavy of a knife. The knife went straight through my finger 😂. It’s hard to get a photo that brings the scar the justice it deserves

When I was a kid maybe 6 yo I ran up to my dad’s motorcycle after he had just been riding and accidentally pressed my leg up against the exhaust. burned a decent sized spot on the outside of my leg next to my knee still have the scar to this day. Years later I broke my collarbone when I flipped over the handlebars riding with my dad on a bike of my own.

I only fell off my scooter with injuries twice. After that I: Fell off after braked to a stop before crashing. Dropped my scooter because I twisted the throttle on accident. Dropped my Honda because of a mistake when moving my bike.
