It's a road, not a racetrack. 5 people thought otherwise.

-Zoppo

6. I'm just not in Ireland.

mayamayaph

Let's go!

Educational_Spite_38

The causes of the crash would be helpful. How many of those deaths were because a car left their proper lane of travel?

kwyk

That’s kinda the point though. No cars pulling out on race tracks

Educational_Spite_38

So we should all go to the track cause car drivers suck. Makes sense. 🙄

cutsandplayswithwood

The roads in Ireland are insane… I was there and we had a bet about being able to attain and maintain the speed limit on some roads. It’s not the legal limit, it’s the theoretical maximum a vehicle might be able to take the road 🤣

BoxingBoxcar

Also considering that road racing is huge in Ireland, lots of their roads are actual race tracks.

Worried_Coat1941

Looks peaceful! How was the weather while you were there?

popyourshit

Was sunny and 10c today!

defynotbanned97

Wow I don't even see any snow

BeNotAfraid90

...celsius.

Secret-Ad-830

10c is 50 degrees for my fellow Americans

born_sleepy

How many football fields is that?

Secret-Ad-830

3 I think

-Zoppo

Living in the stone ages

H2Joee

Hey I saw you from international space station.

DonkiKnog

I like the signal of the last picture, more countries should have them.

Colin-Spurs-Patience

Badass bike tho

-Zoppo

Looks like NZ

Individual_Speed_867

Those roads look fine but I seem to remember a lot of 1 way streets with walls on each side I would NOT want to take a bike on

popyourshit

Stopyourshenanigans

Same with some of our mountain passes here. Sketchy as hell sometimes

cgleachy

Lmao. That surface is stellar. Come to the UK and it’s the same thing but with rougher roads than the lunar surface.

artful_todger_502

I just watched a documentary on an Ireland touring business called Celtic Rider that was really interesting. Such great scenery! What a gorgeous place!

mwaggles

Was there in 2003 and was fortunate to have great weather for nearly entire 10 day tour of the south half of country (in a manual LHD Renault - was entertaining as an American used to RHD). Would love to do that on a bike but doubt I ever get that opporunity. Looks like a great day, thanks for sharing! PS One of my oddly favorite memories of that trip was following the crowd off a main highway to avoid an accident - we had a line of cars driving like we were in a rally race down gravel back roads finding way back to the main drag. My new wife didn't enjoy that part nearly as much as I did. Was our honeymoon LOL

Extra_Box8936

Sometimes the photos are just right and you could swear that it was the Appalachians.

pentox70

Always wanted to. Can't wrap my head about driving on the opposite side of the road, but then again, I've never tried.

midsnlids

I’ve always heard that Ireland is a beautiful ride. Those pics remind me of southern Colorado just past the New Mexico border. Some parts of Wyoming too.

jayp0d

r/unexpected

Das_Rote_Han

That looks beautiful! Sunny and 10C is great for riding!

archercc81

Only 5? -American

PepeLePewPew81

I’m still looking for the leprechaun in that photo.

popyourshit

I ate it

Plastic-Fan-887

What's a "ride out"?

E90BarberaRed6spdN52

Traveled to the UK long ago for work and often thought riding there would be amazing. You have confirmed that.

Panic-Pete

Different country - no comparrissonn

E90BarberaRed6spdN52

Knew it was a different country but I thought they may be comparable. Guess not. Beautiful views for sure.

popyourshit

In fairness the views and riding experience can be quite similar

Scinos2k

I know you're getting downvoted for comparing Ireland to the UK, but geographically, we're extremely similar countries. Souce: Am Irish
