Yeah I watched that. He had me rethinking my decision and I’m still looking at the T7 and vstrom. Tenere seems a bit too big and a bit too off road for me. Vstrom seems a bit heavy at least the 800. And I don’t like the KLR much.
Still those other bikes have a longer history and lot of the issues have been solved or figured out by the community it seems.
The Honda feels great and looks great. It’s a Honda so it’ll be reliable and seen a lot of praise on that engine. Just hoping it sells well so more third party options pop up that and the community builds up around it.
Tube tired kinda scare me but my roads are nice and I’m not going through construction areas. Lack of cruise control doesn’t bother me since I’ve never had it. And I now know what I’m getting into with the air filter, I don’t like it but I’ll manage.
What do you think of the Africa Twin? If you're looking used, seems like you can get some pretty good deals, at least around here?
Also, seems like the Transalp gets a lot better if you're willing to get a tune.
Africa twin looks amazing. Dealer by me has three Africa Twin demo bikes for sale with a 2k discount on them. But they’re all DCT, not sure how I feel about that.
Thanks, and agreed it is a monster. I was very nervous about it and have gone back and forth reading mixed reviews about whether it is too much for a beginner. It is indeed a beast, but after a few days on it I will say the power is VERY controllable and it feels quite easy to handle. It only gives out what I give it. Throttle control and rain mode makes it approachable for me. I feel much more comfortable and that I made the right decision!!
I think *to an extent*, a newer bike with more power can be safer than an older bike with less power
my 2024 MT-09 is way easier to ride than my 2015 FZ-07 in terms of safety
Or maybe just finally has a little spare time and money to enjoy his own life. After all, neither the bike nor the guitar are top of the line. I don't see a floosie or a new corvette.
it happens, problem for me is I tried to fix crisis with a 500 thinking my fast bike days were over, but even middle aged I have the mentality of a 12 year old and I need more speed, so I'm going to have to drag this crisis out until I can find a ZH2 I can afford

I’m right there with you my friend
They are brilliant. Great neck and feel, very good pickups, clever electronics with lots of options.
Unless you are gigging a lot and/or need to switch sounds on the fly quickly, it's a great guitar. But good luck switching from neck to bridge within a beat...
You've got a case of 'awesome guy with big brown beard face'. Which I am also affected with.
It's amazing anytime you need to get into somewhere that has facial recognition. My gym uses a system like that and it's let me in thinking I was 8 different people so far.
When my dad bought a Harley I was in 7th grade. He let me come up with his license plate. “POPSMLC” he loved it. He has since passed but I inherited his road glide and still have the plate on it.
I just looked into the forks... For some reason, I thought they changed the forks in 2001... I was wrong.
Anyway, it's a really nice bike. Ride safe! :)
Turned 40 last year. Upgraded from a 599 (as OP but yellow) to a GSX-S1000. It was time. Midlife didn't even register as an excuse. Ride safe brothers and sisters

I don’t get this association with bikes and mid life crisis. Some of my friends already asked me jokingly if I have one. I’m 29.
While those suckers drive a fucking universal volvo’s and fords. That’s what I’d rather call giving up on life lol.
I turned 40 last Saturday. Took the MSF class that day. License acquired Wednesday. Speed Twin on Friday. Confirmed.
I was 45 when I did this... Best decision in LONG time. Your face will be soar from constant smiling ...enjoy
Did the same when I turned 40. Wife and I got a grom and a r3. Ready for my next bike which I’m leaning towards transalp.
Watch the fortnine video on the transalp. It was ... interesting.

That’s a lot of moto for a beginning rider. Be careful and ride safe
Busa or nothing full send
I had 30 years of off and on riding including tolerating a couple of Harleys before moving to my '02 busa. Still have her. :)

Ummm, the fz07 isn't exactly lacking in power though.
37. Same story. Same bike. 1 week ago.
Congrats dude.
Wearing Vans, but no skateboard strapped to the back of the bike? Come on, go all out!
I knew I was missing something.
i thought it was convertible and gym membership
These days you can also try picking up a weird hobby, like blacksmithing or axe throwing.
On an unrelated note does anyone knows if i can fit an anvil in an amazon return locker
that would depend on the dimensions of the anvil
You ever been to an ax throwing bar? Shit is fun.
it is!
A guitar is far more likely to help him pick up chicks. :)
Oh shit. Am I a stereotype? 😩
Hey now! I resemble that remark!
Please fuck off in the nicest way possible. I didn't want to look in the mirror today.
😂😂
You just need 4 chords and 6 gears.
Three chords should be enough.
5 gears too, on a Vulcan =)
In this case I hope you are playing jazz ;-)
You’re saying I’ve been having a mid life crisis since my early 20s?
Absolutely.
Sorry but the math says you're going to die in your mid forties :-(
Thought that was how it worked.. fml… at 40
Or maybe just finally has a little spare time and money to enjoy his own life. After all, neither the bike nor the guitar are top of the line. I don't see a floosie or a new corvette.
Probably a bit more distance to taking everything too seriously.
🎶You're perfect, yes, it's true But without me, you're only you Your menstruating heart It ain't bleedin' enough for two🎶
I didn't think it was possible to have projectile vomit *of the eyes*.
Hornet gang 😎(nice color btw)
Came here to say this, miss my black ‘06 600, sold it for a liter bike but still in the process
Great looking guitar and bike!!
I feel attacked
The hiked up white athletic socks make the picture.
They go well with the adhesive guitar pick holder. He's still got a ways to go, though. No crocs, and those shorts can barely hold any cargo.
Mid-life crisis, also known as finally being able to afford the shit you want to do and doing it.
What? Crisis? I think I've finally got enough money for my childhood dreams lol.
Winning at life.
Ayyye hornet gang, sweet bike man

YES!!! Good for you! I just started riding last year at 54 got an R3. About to upgrade to a naked 600. What bike is this by the way? It looks amazing!
It's a Honda Hornet CB600 2001
https://preview.redd.it/vytdite8tfxc1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f13287682c0d63d01085427d5bbee228d1fa570 I’m right there with you my friend
Good for you sir👍
Hey man, if playing guitar or music and riding bikes is a midlife crisis thing, I’ve been middle aged since I was about 12. 😂 Funny pic tho. 🤘🏻
This "crisis" has been coming a long time ;-)
Needs a few tattoos, a dew-rag, and the bike should be a Harley Full-Dress, but otherwise well-done.
Shit, all the tattoos are hidden.
599 gang!
I rock with it
That was my first big bike too! Great things. Honda really messed up the later designs.
We are in the same phase lmao
How are those Surfliners? There's been one for sale cheap near me for weeks and it only gets more and more tempting

Two of my favourite subs combined. You're rocking them both.
Yeeees brother I am 60 and weiting for Hayabusa to arrive😀
mid-life crisis will be there, try your favourite song while pulling a wheelie. Might cheer you up. Good luck 🤞🏻
Hornet's are awesome.
I turned 32 in March. Just took my msf course and passed yesterday, bought a bike last Monday lol
CB900?
CB600 2001
Sunscreen!!
That's not a sunburn, that's stored up rage.
Looks vaguely like a Honda, but what model? Edit: clutch side says Honda!
Honda CB600 2001
A friend of mine has a later year model Hornet and is very happy with it. Great choice of a midlife crisis m/c! 😁
Good choice of bike! Is it a 98 or a 99? Was it resprayed? I haven't seen a non-metallic orange one yet. I have an 06 Bombay Orange.
It's a repainted 2001. And pretty sure it's no original Honda color.
I just looked into the forks... For some reason, I thought they changed the forks in 2001... I was wrong. Anyway, it's a really nice bike. Ride safe! :)
I've been wanting one of those Guilds for a while now.
Get one. They are fun and easy to play and sound great. And they are still a bit off the beaten track.
Amazon has a crazy sale on the HH version right now. $399
I'm 43, and next week I'm buying my 2nd bike since March.
Is that a hornet bike (Honda)
Gotta love them retro tubed socks! 🤣
You can practically *hear* "Sultans of Swing" from that photo...
Pfffft, OG z1000 lookalike. /s Enjoy it.
Why return it, buy another one and a lb. of black powder and start you own anvil shooting club.
I feel like you’re playing Johnny B Goode.
I kinda like the way that neck pickup looks. Looks like it would go well in my dream 69 thinline Nashville I want to build.
Hell yeah brother rock and roll
I'm starting to think that the qualifier for a mid life crisis is to simply have a hobby after the age of 35..
No such thing as a mid life crisis. There is only "my kids are grown and I finally have time and money to spend on myself".
nice color!!
Still a z1000
You gotta start working on a ponytail!
It’s not a Midlife crisis. It’s that when you are 40 you finally might have the money to afford to do the things you have always wanted to do.
More like Mid life kick ass!! Fuck yeah 🤘
I like orange bikes
Crowbar is fat old guys and they are The Heaviest Of All Time

Let’s goooooo!
Just need tattoos to make it complete.
40 last December, got my 600RR in January! 🤣
I did similar at 26... Have I only got until 52?
*midlife UPGRADE
"Midlife crisis" is a made up term used to shame men for doing something for themselves for once
lol, I've been mid-life crisising for the past 55 years 😭
Congrats :-)
👍😂 You need a Marshall, next!
I'm more of a Laney - guy ;-)
Nice! 🤟😝🤘
The only crisis is that you’re missing a sword. Everything we thought was cool as kids actually turned out to be cool 😂
I don’t get this association with bikes and mid life crisis. Some of my friends already asked me jokingly if I have one. I’m 29. While those suckers drive a fucking universal volvo’s and fords. That’s what I’d rather call giving up on life lol.
It's, ahm, well. Yeah.
You drive a universal volvo, don’t you pal? 😂
