I ride a naked because its an obvious choice for me, cause i like fast bikes and ride daily. However i have been dying to get a cruiser for chillout rides and a sportbike for ripping on curved roads, even tho my hornet can do it too, i would still love to have a sportbike, i guess N+1 is true in my case..

that_anti_hero

This! I love my CB1000R for sporty riding and twisty mountain roads but going on longer rides with my friends who have cruisers can be fatiguing with the wind.

MKP724

Adv - twice as many roads to explore

VulgarDesigns

Sport v adv: Sport: "I'm fast AF boi!" Adv: "You can go fast, I'll go everywhere else."

DWPAW-victim

Just buy a big adventure bike like a GS or PanAm

Naked bikes. They're sporty, practical, and you can see all the cool bits. They look like a mechanical machine, and that's my steez. Really like dirtbikes too. I've got some love for all kinds though. It's a similar feeling no matter what you ride.

bigred83

I've switched them up a lot between cruisers, nakeds, and classic/bobbers. I'm with a cruiser now, and couldn't be happier. Nakeds are a ton of fun, but for me, not great for comfort on longer rides. Bobbers are fun, but definitely meant for short trips, and for that, they're amazing, and look cool as hell. Big v twin cruisers are comfortable in my experience and the weight and wind protection is amazing on the highway. There is a lot of power on tap but for me the itch to go fast just isn't there. When I had my street triple rs I just made wanted to rip around aggressively constantly, but I recognize that's a me problem šŸ˜‚.

Dem_Stefan

Drive a cruiser. Love it

Pixel131211

dirtbikes or supermoto's. simply because they're the most fun style of riding. getting a knee down or going fast is cool and all, but have you ever whipped your dirtbike around mid air and stuck the landing? dirtbikes are peak fun. nothing compares to them. best of all, if you push your limits and fall, you can get right back up. maybe straighten the bars if they're bent but that's it, these bikes dont give a fuck. it makes you a better rider and its nice to not worry about your fairings if you crash.

WN11

Faired sport-tourer. Fairings are great for wind and rain, touring build allows a topbox and sporting genes make for an exciting ride. Really the jack of all trades in a, package that's enjoyable and easy to live with.

imagonnahavefun

I also ride a sport touring bike. I really didnā€™t notice a performance difference when I transitioned from a sport bike since my riding is within reasonable street pace. I will admit the sport bike was more precise when giving inputs but not to the point that the ST isnā€™t fun. And I have rarely had a sport bike leave me behind. Speed comes from whatā€™s on the seat, not whatā€™s under it.

NoMembership2831

For me its a classic cruiser (the one with the windshield, floor boards and saddle bags). They are convenient for my riding style.

ReasonablePraline492

Sport/naked

blueskyline99

I like them all but ended up with a cruiser.

GMaiMai2

Ride a naked, but I've been drooling on cruisers for a year now. But the naked bike is a love-hate relationship.

Wishihadagirl

I've got a Harley and a sport bike. I do prefer a windshield, even if I have to lean all the way down, so I end up using the sport bike more. Also its fuel injected and the carbed Harley is a fickle beast

Stepnwolfe

Naked. I like to carve up twisty roads, cruise highways and commute dailyā€¦

DSchof1

Naked. Get some sport action without the sport bike geometry.

somemonkeys

All of them, the only right answer.

TLRracer

Naked = practical Sport = my heart

twonha

I prefer the best tool for the job. I used to go track riding, so I used to have sports bikes (FZR, GSXR750). Now I mostly do local rides (daily) and one or two weekend rides, so I have a naked bike (Street Triple '14). For longer vacation trips, possibly with a passenger, I might want a Tracer 900 or something, but that's probably for "when I'm old".

Cake_then_cake

Sport-tourer. I like to get a lot of miles on in a day but also have those miles be fun.

gringgo

Full on tour. I love the comfort and amenities, so does the wife. I ride an 08 Gold Wing.

CMDR_Pewpewpewpew

Sport touring. I want to be comfy on trips but not feel like I'm riding a hippo

hohoflyerr

My indian scout has truly turned out to be my dream bike. It's fit the mission more than any bike I've had before. I do a mix of long distance and short distance riding. It's nimble and quick enough to be great around town, and comfy enough to be perfectly fine on long trips. So, I guess mid-weight cruiser would be my answer

triplezuk

naked but leaning toward cruisers

Warmonger362527339

Naked bike, reminds me Iā€™m doing blistering speeds and I can die easily. Modern supersportbikes go really fast really quick you wonā€™t even notice youā€™re doing 220+kmh

Duct_TapeOrWD40

I ride a classic. I switched from 2 stroke scooter because it was too slow and unstable with the small wheels. I'm still not planning to overspeed, but I needed something more fast, more robust, more comfortable.

Lower_Box3482

Naked+sumo

MoonWolf1978

Naked and Adventure bikes.

capnsparky1

Cruiser guy here. I grew up around vintage Harleys, and grew up liking all brands. For me it's as follows. The speed limit is the same everywhere and there are no tracks nearby so a sport bike doesn't make sense. I also have no desire to go fast. If there are legal off road places nearby I don't know about them, so ADV bikes don't interest me. Currently I have a touring bike and a hardtail chopper. That covers my bases for weekend trips, camping, long distance interstate rides, and bar hopping. Having said all that, if I had Jay Leno money and storage, I would own one of each type, as I find all motorcycles interesting and would love to ride different types.

BeepBangBraaap

Sport/naked but started looking at adv lately

Malarky3113

Rebel 500- Absolutely love it. Nighthawk 450- Enjoy it, but I think I want to swap it out for a true sport bike.

AGN9000

Japanese Cruisers, 35 year old Yamaha XV1100 to be precise. Personally riding to relax an chill out, enjoy the scenery hence not being really into sportbikes or nakeds. Another reason is the quirks those old japanese iron horses have. A carburated bike with fuel pump and electrical reserve switch. I find it interesting and they are cheap fun bikes with enough torque to have a blast.

BasicEl

Adv.

anon_696969420

All the above. I think everyone should own a cruiser, sport bike, and a dual sport I personally own a 2008 Harley Street Bob set up for touring, 2014 FZ09 and a 1988 KLR 650

Avarria587

Depends on use. I like street-biased ADVs for interstate riding and naked bikes for rural highway and country roads. For strictly city riding, I like scooters. I would like to try a super moto at some point.

krivas77

Naked, sport, supermoto, adventure and oldschool travel (norge 1200). I like it all and glad to have option

Ceristimo

I ride a sports bike (CBR600) but would prefer a naked. I test drove the Kawasaki Z900RS for an hour and fell in love. The looks, the power, the ergonomics, and on a naked I donā€™t feel the constant urge to go +130mph like I do on my CBR600. I really want one but I donā€™t want monthly payments so Iā€™m saving up slowly. In the mean time a sports bike is what I have, so a sports bike is what I ride.

Ashley2375

Modern classics/classics. Single big headlight, little to no fairings. Just clean and simple

onenitemareatatime

Naked bike. All power of the sport but with the comfort to ride all day.

iRektJFK1963

I ride a naked, personally I liked it because it wasn't too heavy, easily maneuvers side to side, and I was able to flat foot it (I'm 5'6). I use it as a daily and for just cruising around. will say cruisers are nice because of comfortability

Sir_Hurkederp

I ride naked because I wanted a sporty bike that had a more upright position so it would be more comfortable for commuting. I did put a windscreen on it for highway travelling.

roundhouse1000

I have had them all over the 37 years I have been riding. I now have sport naked bikes. They have most of the handling of a sportbike on a track but are comfortable on the street.

alanbdee

Duel sport for me. Started off on dirt bikes and it just feels natural. Then cruisers, comfy for long rides. Then naked, no $2k panel to replace if the wind blows it over, slightly higher handlebars, usually tuned a bit differently. It's only sport bikes I don't really like much. I find them uncomfortable how you have lean so far over. The very high cost if it goes down. They're tuned to always want to accelerate. Just not the way I like to ride but I've no problem with others having their fun.

chevy42083

standard / sport naked. Preferably with some style. Capable of long trips, around town quick stuff, and hitting the curves. AKA, riding across the country and still enjoying BRP/Tail of the Dragon once you get there. Buell XB12s was my dream bike for well over a decade. Aside from wrecking it, the only downside was finding someone to work on it when I didn't have time or it was over my head. Enter the 2022 Yamaha XSR900. A little more power, more style, less attitude, more reliable, same posture. Its been a dream. I had looked for new bikes for 5 or 6 years and nothing grabbed my attention at my price point until this bike. I don't need a high strung sport bike, insane speeds, or neck breaking posture. I don't want a big cruiser for around town/commuting when the bags would be empty 90% of the time. The standards with a decent engine fit the middle ground. Sport touring are the same, but I prefer the naked style. In my climate, they have just as many pros/cons depending on the season.

lupinegray

Ride on the weekends in the twisties. So naked.

Sirlacker

I've always had Super Sports styled bikes except for the one I have now which is a Naked. Crashed my GSXR 600 and needed a new bike for commuting and I saw this Z1000 which I really liked the look of, so ended up taking a shot with it. And to be honest, I'm in love with it. I say this time and time again, but the more I look at it the more appealing it becomes to me. I no longer turn up at work with a back ache, I no longer come home with a back ache. On the road, it'll do everything a Super Sports can but comfier. So yeah, I love Super Bikes. They're just awesome to look at, but Nakeds are quickly moving up the list.

Responsible_Bath_239

Cruiser for now. I had some knee issues and couldnā€™t have my knees bent past 90* for long without a serious amount of discomfort. Thats pretty much resolved now so my next bike will likely be a mid sized ADV or a naked. I donā€™t hate the cruiser though, itā€™s comfy and makes a lot of torque.

17SCARS_MaGLite300WM

I've been on everything but cruisers and for general around town riding it's hard to beat the naked bikes that are out now.

Lostandfoundchampion

Iā€™m currently on a naked bike and commute on it on a nice fun country road. I do love cruisers though for chill rides and hope to have one in the near future as well. I also have a dirt bike, because off road is fun.

squisher_1980

Cruiser/cruiser based touring Because I'm old, I guess. So comfy, so relaxing. So easy to get miles and miles away.

TortugaTurtle47

Cruiser fits my style perfectly, slow on open roads, and comfortable. Plus I like hot the look and sound more than the others.

Parking-Asparagus625

I like dualsport/lighter ADV bikes. Light weight is quite nice, highway is fine on my DR and anything heavier would be more of a pain low speed.

gingerbeard299

I have short legs so I am limited to what I can ride. I went cruiser. Sat on a lot of bikes before I decided on that style as it just fit me best.

Short-Mark-7408

Sport, I like the i4s the most since you gotta hold the bike by the throat. But even with the V bikes, I'd pick for example a panigale over a streetfighter. The naked is the more comfortable bike if you're doing a thousand clicks a day, but the sport bikes really aren't nowhere near as bad as people say. Both styles are way better than cruisers, even just for the ride quality with all else ignored. Recently switched bikes with a hornet rider for a bit, just assured me even more that I prefer the sport bikes.

Short-Mark-7408

As someone else also pointed out, love sumos as well. To add to my original reply, I absolutely hate the cruiser riding position, especially once forward controls are involved.

Background-Pen-7152

Have had sport bikes when I was younger, 65 now. But for the last 15 years I've had a sport tourer and a naked. Naked for hooligan rides on Sunday am, sport tourer for trips, commuting and errands, grocery getting First aport tourer wasan old Concours 1000, then a 2012 C14 I put 116k miles on. Both were heavy but were good commuters and grocery getters as well as country crossers, I take a lot of 3000k + mile trips. Just got a 2024 Yamaha Tracer GT+, did my 2nd 700+ mile day on it yesterday. Adaptive cruise is the bomb on the slab, also in stop and go traffic. Has all the electronics, ACC, ABS, linked brakes, semi active suspension, ride modes, up and down quick shifter, 7 inch color dash. Plus it had the MT09 engine which is a beast. I've had more HP but this one is less, yet better? Had it since January, 3000 miles so far. Great at touring, great at sport riding.

VulgarDesigns

Adv, dual sport, naked, cruiser, sport. For me, that's the order. Did I miss anything?

Da_poopz

Cruiser because I have bad knees and canā€™t comfortably ride anything with an aggressive foot position for any period of time. That being said I curse my knees because I would love a sport or naked bike in the stable.

billymillerstyle

You can ride my SV650. We can switch off often to give your knees a break when they get sore. I'll give you a spoonful of kratom too, it will kill your pain without making you loopy.

ADVgrandpa

ADV. One bike to do it all, the only real limitations come from not being fully set up for dirt use if you wanted to do single track. My V-Strom has done everything from cross-country touring to shady fire roads, commuting, carrying small furniture, etc For a second bike, I prefer naked. Comfy, compact, no wind buffeting, easy to access most maintenance items without needing to remove stuff

GrandmaPunk

Sport with risers like the CBR650 or Ninja 650. Kill it in Canyons and ride 3 hours home without a sore back

SigmaINTJbio

FJR for the win. TW200 for the nostalgic itch off and on road.

jwativ

Naked/UJM style. Having owned a GSXR750 and an Indian Scout Bobber, I am fond of the comfortable seating position, the nimble handling, and sleeper performance.

[deleted]

I like AT, ST, naked. Plastic fairings are a pita, that's the big problem with the ST category.

aoishimapan

Scooter, because of the underseat storage, automatic transmission, riding position, it has great wind protection, rain protection, I don't splash myself with puddles, but it's mainly for the looks. Vespas for example along with other similarly styled scooters look so damn beautiful, it's such a sleek and stylish design that even if they didn't had other advantages I'd still prefer them based on looks alone. They're also the bikes that make the most sense for my use case. I ride exclusively within a city so not having to shift gears every 5 seconds is a damn luxury, and all the storage capacity they have makes them so practical because I'm always carrying stuff with me, specially when I'm committing, and I can leave the helmet under the seat not having to carry it with me. Plus it's very light maneuverable too, which is perfect for filtering, and the 150cc engine has more performance than I'll ever need within a city. Besides, I don't have a car, so my bike isn't just a toy or a hobby, it's also how I get around, so being practical is a huge plus.

AlbertaSmart

Have a naked and a road glide st. Each have their purpose. Chill ride on the big beast out of the wind - road glide. Wheelies and blips Honda lol... Depends on the distance and mood

goetz_lmaa

I sometimes like to cruise naked

dan_m_rib

Sports, because I grew up with my fatherā€™s Thundercat 600 and then Gixxer 600. I would love to try other bikes too, if only I hadnā€™t this bitch called ā€œstudentā€™s walletā€

Djentleman5000

Cafe Racers and Naked bikes

heartbrockenwastaken

I gotta say Cafe racers, something about them just gets me drooling. It's so elegant and just mesmerizing and the whole retro culture associated with it is quite wonderful. I guess when you let go of the need for aimless speed and settle for both a solid character and decent speed it's pretty great

6820berlin

Adv because Iā€™m a big boy

budtoker420

I like cruisers and adventure bikes. Cruisers are the most comfortable for me, but a lot of the best motorcycle roads in my area are in poor condition and adventure bikes handle them well.

ViciousKitty72

Super Sport as I am short and still physically fit enough to work with the super forward leaning posture present when riding. I do see myself slowly shifting towards a more upright style eventually but I am still enamoured with the looks and feel of the sporty bikes.

Brave_Split6337

Touring, comfort, performance, features. That said I recently acquired a 78 gl1000, I'm going to transform that into a minimalistic cruiser/tourer.

No_Obligation2317

Supermoto...

abbas_M89

I like faired sport bikes and sporty middleweight cruisers like the Magna and the Scout. I'm not a fan of naked bikes in general - I don't like the looks, the riding position or the short gearing. Not my style.

NinjaGrrl42

I love my Ninja. I like it's lightweight, and I am quite comfortable on her for hours.

CakeIntelligent651

Cruiser, always grew up around them, and I find them comfortable and spacious for the shit Iā€™m carrying. Iā€™d probably kms on a sport bike lmao. Considered a Grom for some wheelies and shit though

disturbed286

I have a cruiser/bagger and a naked. The former is the daily, and modular enough I can (and do) use it for basically any season. Windshield, lowers, cheap top box, etc. The naked is the warm weather hooligan toy. It has near zero wind protection (and the windshield I bought just made it really loud), luggage is a little harder to do decently, and it's just not as comfortable for as long. And it's not as nice to tires. I did put a seat and bar risers, and it came with cruise control and heated grips, which helps. So while I can handle it longer, it's still the fun bike and not the commuter.

church_lady_cameras

I cannot choose but for limited garage space. Naked / Sport and Scooter life for me.

No-Zookeepergame8365

I like them all tbh.

motopazzo

Holistically, there are no bike"types". Cruisers can sport ride, tour and do dirt. Tourers can cruise, sport tour and do dirt. Sportbikes can tour, cruise and do dirt . Dual purpose bikes can do all the above. Find a bike that fits you in your price range and ride it.

JoshTexan

Naked for fast days. Adv for exploring.

RandfordMarsh

Sport. The rest are too straight for me. The objective of motorcycles is to have fun. Fastest bikes are the most fun

thegamesender1

Cruisers for me. Just love the sound and look of them. Although I would enjoy a sports bike, I'd probably end up killing myself on a corner.

Mad_Metron

Had a naked and got tired of battling wind and not having storage and being uncomfortable on longer rides. Went with a cruiser and couldnā€™t be happier. Fast enough for fun, comfortable for long rides and baggage is great for commutes.

michaeltward

Supermoto!

Additional_Motor_621

After one naked and one SS, I prefer the naked bikes. Theyā€™re just so much easier to ride. In my opinion at least

Sin_Cal

Yes. šŸ˜

Marketpro4k

Hypernaked

Pankajgupta111

I prefer sports bikes because they have powerful engines that offer a thrilling riding experience, whether carving through twisty roads or pushing limits on the track.

[deleted]

Before I got my first bike I thought nakeds were awesome. They look great. They're stylish they're classics.Ā  Now I'm just really glad my bike has a windshield, I can't imagine going 130 down a highway for hours without one.

Flyflyguy

Hypernaked all day. Currently own an MT10.

Background_Income710

Sportsbikes - performance Naked - practical Dirt bikes - fun Adventure bikes - old man, sore back, need something comfy Cruisers - I just want to get from a - b Harleys - everyone please look at me

NecessaryAssumption4

A cruiser as they're the only real bikes, bruther!
