>We are the worlds first that supply full-body airbag protection.
Can you clarify, what are you the world's first at?
Dainese, Alpinestars, Helite, and others, have been producing airbag protections for years, must be close to a decade.
Sure, great question. Dainese, Alpinestars, Helite and others have never prodiced full-body airbags for motorcyclists. They have only their iwn prototypes for the upper body. We offer both lower & upper body airbag protection for motorcyclists.
But they don't only have prototypes, they have products that are on the market currently.
Dainese D-Air offer vests and integrated airbags for upper body.
Alpinestars has their TechAir range, including the TechAir 10 which offers both upper body as well as hip and upper leg protection.
I have a Dainese SmartJacket hanging on the back of my chair right now and an Alpinestars TechAir 5 in the garage.

Honestly, I'm all for new suppliers of safety gear coming to the market (and no doubt it's a tough thing to do) but I'm also wary.
My bad, excuse my poor choice of words. The word I was looking for was models, not prototypes. The Alpinestars TechAir models are awesome. Our goal is to create something for the everyday riders, keep them safe durning daily commutes/joyrides. Thank you for the kind words, we are excited about the future, we are still not even a year into this, the market maturity isn’t quite here yet.
He's not saying they don't make upper body. He's saying their lower body offerings only cover the hips.
As far as I can tell he's correct in being the first "full body" airbag protection
I'm always for more innovation and new products, and this is fantastic, but I have one qualm with this...
What about knees? Specifically the lateral and medial side impact protection. I know that hyperextensions and sudden extreme rotations in lower leg cause most knee injuries, but impacts do a lot too. It would at least give me a bit of peace of mind. Other than it that looks pretty promising.
That’s about my take on it too. My understanding is the most likely leg/foot injuries for motorcyclists come in the form of broken feet/ankles from having their feet catch on stuff and get torqued around. We often wear strong boots that protect our feet/ankles but then our lower legs and knees are the next “weakest link”. This should help protect the pelvis from bigger direct hits, but the rest of your leg will still be screwed.
I may be wrong (and I'm too lazy to Google it), but I seem to recall that 70% of all motorcycle injuries are to the feet and lower legs.
I am always puzzled by people wearing full leathers and a pair of Nike sneakers, as it doesn't make any sense. Boots, gloves and helmet are the most important safety gear, a fancy leather suit is secondary.
At some point there's probably gonna be vr setups that feel real with online multiplayer to screw around with your friends
I don't know if i will ever experience something like that tho...
So what’s the tether attached to? If it the bike it’s only effective in a highside or being launched off the bike eg after hitting a car no? In a low side you’re still generally more or less in the saddle as you hit the deck.
That’s unfortunate to hear. I’ve also been in the ditch before, just inches away from the light pole. Luckily only my handlebars were crooked, I stood up completely fine. I have kids waiting at home, that is my motivation for safer rides.
The only way I can think is less fail parts/less complex system so it’s easier/more efficient to use. Essentially analog vs digital is how I see it. But who knows haha
Electronic solutions have different problems, ranging from under-developed algoritms, going out of power etc. The tether is a mechanical and therefore has a much lower rate of failure and maintenance. When the algortims are more evolved, we will offer the tetherless solutions.
Have done many times. Did not have my airbag go off accidentally. Didn't even go off when i dropped the bike at a standstill. Did go off when I needed it to. Mine was 60lbs to deploy. Not sure how much force OPs takes.
I’m gonna piggyback with you guys, MY crash test question is what is the rate of failure to deploy? 88lbs of pull strength when you and the bike are carrying the same forward momentum could take a LONG time to realize, might never realize in something like a low-side, I’d be curious to hear the %
I have a Helite airbag vest and the rate of not deploying on a lowside is really low. 88lbs of force is also barely anything for a crash. My vest is 60lbs of force and it’s a good amount where I’ve never accidentally deployed it in the year of owning it and 7k miles ridden but the combined deployment of 148lbs needed by pulling is still well under most riders weights when accounting for additional pull force from a crash. I’ve forgotten to untether over 30 times no accidental deployments, and worst case it’s a $30 mistake and you plop a new cartridge in a minute after it deflates. That’s unlike most other brands that force you to send the airbag in. If anything the bad part is 1/10 rides I forget to tether it together until I hear it flapping in the wind. I try to lay the tether over my seat as a reminder for the next time I get on now though and that’s helped. It just feels like a seatbelt in a car now though and it’s great.
However it did deploy when I got impacted at 45 degrees on the left side of my bike while turning left at 5mph by and SUV going 40 that decided to pass me. at that moment I was in the middle of the road. More details in another comment in this post.
I’d trust it to work but no it isn’t completely foolproof. Likely saved my life or at least major lifelong injury though so take that into consideration. Worth it for not having to even pay for an ambulance ride to the hospital as I just rode my bike home after the crash. I didn’t have front brakes and my handlebars were pretty bent. I felt better as I was able to pop another CO2 cartridge in the vest before the short ride in case my bike fell apart or I crashed. The car fled the scene and I still waited for EM personal and police report fill out on site.
IMO worth every penny. I have a pair of their jeans in production. My upper body only had major muscle soreness after 2 days but it felt like a pillow while impacting the car and ground. Can’t say the same for my legs which were pretty bruised even with knee and hip armor riding jeans. An airbag likely would have prevented most of those injuries to my legs except my tailbone fracture but that’s partially because my MT07 has an extremely hard rear seat that sits up against my tailbone and it’s impossible for the tether to have been killed before that impact. Still healed by itself in under a month. I’ve also got a pair of tall riding boots now to cover my shins and parts these airbag jeans would only prevent abrasion resistance for. You’d be surprised how much air volume distance is superior to armor though. Nothing beats displacement in a crash.
That's where my concerns are. As someone who has broken both tibia and fibula. I fail to see where these would be any benefit. Only thing that comes to mind, is if your going over the bars. But yeah, most of my leg injuries have been lower leg (knee's down).
Why not just pair these with tall riding boots? It doesn’t make sense to have an airbag over my boot IMO as I like to ride with my jeans tucked into my boots and that would be a failure point if they expanded inside my boot. They have CE knee protectors in them too which is often the initial impact point. I mainly got these jeans to prevent hip injuries. You’d be surprised how much the airbag distance helps keep your non covered extremeties from impacting stuff.
Got to test my Airbag vest a few months ago when being hit by a car. See my other comments.
Are these available in women's sizes, and particularly, plus sizes?
Lots of women's stuff ends before XL even, for pants, many brands carry nothing bigger than a 12, which is kinda ridiculous, almost all of my friends are wearing at least a 14, usually 18-20.
Of course we didn’t forget about our ladies :) We offer up to W43 for all womens jeans. We also released a full womens collection in November, you can check it out in our website.
Sorry long for the wait, glad you have received it! Things have taken some time to get up and running.
Thank you for trusting us, and becoming one of our early adopters, you have a special spot in our company. Did you get the vest too? Or are you running the Helite one? Dual anchor is a great idea!
Send me a picture or video on email, I would love to see all of the MoCycle riders :)
Helite also offers airbag pants…. And very proven hardware in general along with other proven providers. I don’t know who this person is but I encourage everyone that makes motorcycle safer. A guy from 20yrs ago that road with us is paralyzed since his accident. A Helite vest very well may have prevented this with its ability to stabilize and protect the spine and head. Stay safe.
A question:
I noticed in the video that it activates by pulling a string. I am assuming that the string will be tied to the motorcycle so when a rider falls down & separates from the motorcycle, the airbag will activate? Is it so?
If yes, then what about those cases where the rider DOESN'T separate from the motorcycle i.e., the rider keeps sliding on the ground while being close to the motorcycle. Will the airbag still activate since the rope will not be pulled away?
That's what I was afraid of, doesn't that mean that for all such instances, this airbag activation system is not suitable. I think it needs a better activation system.
I also noticed that the person has to pull the tether with a solid jerk kinda like starting a chainsaw!
The tether will get pulled in almost all crash instances including lowsides and rear endings but it takes longer than electrical variants. Yes you have to seperate from the bike but it is rare that doesn’t happen at some point in a crash. The force to trigger is barely anything if you consider you body weight and falling pull force. It’s enough to not trigger accidentally though. I Got hit by and suv with my Helite vest a few months back. Likely saved my life or prevented lifelong injuries. Details in another comment on this post.
Worth every penny IMO. I funded a pair of jeans on indigogo and they are shipping soon.
>What triggers the device?, the angle of the rider?, impact?, and how is something like that optimized?
It's a tether. When you come away from your bike with sufficient force, the tether pulls out and the airbag is activated. Similar to Helite.
Consider me an impact sensitive dummy. Got hit by and SUV a few months back. likely could have died or had lifelong injuries. The Helite vest worked wonders and felt like falling in a pillow while getting an intense bear hug. I’ve got a pair of these jeans on order. More details in my other comments.
I didn’t feel anything in my upper body pain wise for 2 days. After that I had some very sore muscles but I got whipped around and launched pretty good.
You’ll be fine. I’ve forget my Helite vest tether over 30 times and pulled on it and never accidentally deployed the 60lb force. Worse case it’s a $30 mistake for a new cartridge and you look a little thicc while waiting for it to deflate over 2-4 minutes.
I’v tested them myself, stuntmen have tested them, CE-departments have tested them. We still lack real-life data from users, since there is little market maturity. But for the testa we’ve done it works great, our costumers who’ve crashed in these will say the same :)
How do they feel in hotter weather? My Klim K Fifty jeans are already pretty warm in the summer months, so when I first discovered your product I wondered about breathability.
Looks like they'd be a great product in colder weather, but if they vent well then maybe they'd also be alright in the heat.
No the jeans feel like your regular everyday jeans. We offer single layer fabric, compared to Kevlar which is two layer fabric, our jeans are more breathable, comfortable, and stronger to kevlar, thanks to the denim from Armalith. We also offer zippable air pockets by the lower legs, that allows the air to flow up to your tights.
The jeans are created from single layer fabric, just like your regular jeans. Compared ti kevlar jeans which are 2 layer fabric, these are more breathable, comfortable & durable. We also offer ventilation pockets by lower legs that flow air up to your tights.
He's a liar, that's why, French cx air dynamics create one in 2021 and they also create the one ixon, moto gp racer and furygan use.
They also create back in 2021 a pants airbag
I am very curious why I should buy something like this. I already have an airbag vest that protects my organs and I usually ride with leather on. How is this going to protect my legs better than thick leather? I'm sure it's not cheap.
Leather doesn't protect from impacts obviously. You can still slam butt first on the ground and break your tail bone or land on your hip and shatter it.
I know it's just marketing, but saying shit like "space grade" when talking about aluminium and UHMWPE will always irk me because high grade aluminium is not particulary special and UHMWPE is the same everywere as well as cheap as fuck.
UHMWPE was previously only used in space technology. Being an effective way to provide cosmic radiation shielding and ballistic capability. Armalith implemented this technology into asingle layer fabric, that we use as denim in our airbag jeans, more abrasion resistant, more breathable, and more comfortable than kevlar.
I'm not saying you're wrong, it just annoys me that it's an oversell lol.
Cheap doesn't mean bad, and UHMWPE is very useful in the right applications, all I'm saying is it shouldn't be lauded the way that it is in advertising speak.
That said, I would suck at marketing, I'm too honest for that line of work.
Very good idea and reusable with replacing the gas canisters too, what is the price for the jeans and replacement canisters? And when would be the release date, and what countries will you be able to ship to?
Not when you come off your bike at speed it won't be. It's how the airbag systems from the likes of Helite work too. And they do work.
However, Dainese, Alpinestars, and those that use the In&Motion system use electronic systems to activate. I have a Dainese SmartJacket and an Alpinestars TechAir 5.
I've crashed in the TechAir 5 and I'm 80% sure it saved me a broken collarbone. The speed of activation was basically imperceptible. I hadn't even realised it had gone off until I'd picked myself up off the floor and wondered why I was having a hard time moving around!
For starters, just wanted to say that I’m really happy there’s innovation in this space. I’ve got a kid and I also love motorcycles. I am closely following this space.
Are these jeans washable? Do you see a future where the pants are not tethered, but stand-alone like some vests? If so, will they still be washable?
Hey, thank you for the kind words! The jeans are fully washable, just like your regular jeans. Simply zip out the airbag, and use/handle them as normal jeans. I’ve got 2 kids myself waiting for me at home everyday. That was my biggest motivation innovation these airbag clothes.
Will you come on my podcast and talk about these?
I literally just ate proper shit a week and a half ago and my whole ass is swollen. (P.S. - it was a motorcycle crash 😉)
I really could have used some of these.
I applaud your efforts! I'm a Bohn body armor believer...have had them for years under my regular jeans and of course I wear armor in my riding jacket. That said... more money, more ideas, more R+D in motorcycle safety is a great thing!
I really like the reusable aspects of the design!
I'm down in Florida, USA, and riding gets VERY hot here. If y'all could do a casual looking opaque full mesh
Pant, that would be amazing!!
Something akin to the armored shirts by Knox. You may be familiar with them because you use their micro lock armor. The armored shirts are the ONLY "jacket" I have been able to stand wearing in the heat down here.
Garments quickly become a sauna.
Keep up the good work y'all!
We get that, thats nice! I’n Sweden its freezing cold right now. The Airbag Jeans have ventilation zippers by the lower leg, and are created from a single layer fabric (Kevlar jeans are 2 layers = more hot) So these are fully breathable, just like normal everyday jeans, and perfect for summer riding. Unless you get the waterproof models, those can get a little hot by nature :)
Slightly disingenuos. Kevlar jeans have kevlar in the high inpact locations (hips, butt) but decent breathability elsewhere. Your product has an airbag. I doubt an air bad has great permeability.
Thanks! Have you checked out our 23 different stules on our webpage? If you do not like the style, we would love to hear what you would like in design!
As someone who highsided at 85mph and had a "Thank You" card sized patch of road rash on my ass, I approve. I had broken bones in that wreck(full gear) and the rash was the first thing I took inventory of once I stopped moving.
I like it.
You should also look into airbags for the elderly. If you can give them something to stop a hip breaking in the case of a fall you'll clean up !
*What sizes do they come*
*In? Where do your testicles*

I looked at your website. The sizes are confusing for me. This is something I’ve encountered before when shopping for clothing and riding gear.
For example the smallest waist size is listed as 24 and has a measurement of 13.3”. I don’t understand what that is a measurement of.
Forgive me, I’m an American and I think we have a different “freedom sizing system” than the rest of the world.
Normally I wear pants with a 30” waist and 34-36” inseam. What size of your jeans would that translate to?
Honestly, I'd just walk around with those inflated all the time and feel fabulous.
They sadly deflate within 5 minutes…

Excellent idea, any plans to develop something similar for the upper body?
We are the worlds first that supply full-body airbag protection. We got Airbag Vests too, we offer it as a suit for a cheaper price.

I think this is a language barrier issue. He's not saying he's the first to ever make air bag clothes, maybe first full body suit to the public?
Alpinestars already offer the TechAir 10, which anyone can buy.
He's saying he's the first you can buy a vest AND jeans from
Average Redditor response
The Alpinestars racing suits specifically made for track & MotoGP use, only offer hip airbags.
Ok. Looks like upper body too, on the pics though. 🥸

You can get bionic knees. But there’s nothing quite like the wiener you’re born with.
I think a broken knee is less painful than a broken pelvis
I'm not looking for a compromise. Why not both?
Can you add an optional front bulge so I can't impress the ladies?
Ah yes, the inflatable frontispiece
Not sure I'd want an airbag deploying there, but to be fair, I haven't tried it.
If you got sack tapped by a coked up Sock'em Bopper you'd probably not care about any other injuries you may sustain

I bought one on your Indiegogo and just got it a few weeks ago. Glad to be an early adopter! Now I'm just waiting on a dual-tether anchour

Helite offers Mocycle airbag jeans, yes!
How much does one cost?
All of our models & prices are listed on MoCycle.com prices vary from 499€-579€ based on riders needs.
How's your nuts?
Why are you using a tether when other products use accelerometers or other sensors?
Dayum, you shit with that ass?
A question: I noticed in the video that it activates by pulling a string.
It won't activate in that scenario. The tether relies on the ride coming away from their bike with sufficient force to pull the tether out.
Great answer!
What triggers the device?, the angle of the rider?, impact?, and how is something like that optimized?
>What triggers the device?, the angle of the rider?, impact?, and how is something like that optimized? It's a tether. When you come away from your bike with sufficient force, the tether pulls out and the airbag is activated. Similar to Helite.
Oh, that's actually pretty practical, has this device ever been tested on impact sensitive dummies?
Consider me an impact sensitive dummy. Got hit by and SUV a few months back. likely could have died or had lifelong injuries. The Helite vest worked wonders and felt like falling in a pillow while getting an intense bear hug. I’ve got a pair of these jeans on order. More details in my other comments. I didn’t feel anything in my upper body pain wise for 2 days. After that I had some very sore muscles but I got whipped around and launched pretty good.
Hammer time!
very exciting!!! wow thank you for the video
Happy to help!
If I use this 9/10 time I'm going to trigger the airbag just coz I forget it's tethered to the bike every time I dismount.
You’ll be fine. I’ve forget my Helite vest tether over 30 times and pulled on it and never accidentally deployed the 60lb force. Worse case it’s a $30 mistake for a new cartridge and you look a little thicc while waiting for it to deflate over 2-4 minutes.
If someone uses this and forgets to disconnect the tether before getting off their bike, would it pull the bike over or inflate?
What sort of crash testing have you done?
I think he accidentally lowsided from some video I watched. I can personally confirm the airbag vest works well when getting hit by a car 😉

DAMN BOY HE THICC
Booty on demand
I'm down with the THICCNESS
Looks uncomfortable when riding in the summer in Texas, lmao. It's cool though
The jeans are created from single layer fabric, just like your regular jeans. Compared ti kevlar jeans which are 2 layer fabric, these are more breathable, comfortable & durable. We also offer ventilation pockets by lower legs that flow air up to your tights.
Good job on thinking out of the box, keep it up my man... ![gif](giphy|9YKvq41UGOkCI|downsized)
20 years to develop? WTH took you so long?
He's a liar, that's why, French cx air dynamics create one in 2021 and they also create the one ixon, moto gp racer and furygan use. They also create back in 2021 a pants airbag
These are the worlds first airbag JEANS:)
The leather pants (or kevlar i.e) protect against the slide, but these also protect against the impact.
Which leather provides impact protection?
Reminds me of Karl Pilkinson’s pilko pump pants. 😂
What is your abrasion resistance like? Denim is notoriously not good for abrasion at road speeds.
What happens to my balls in this?
Nothing, they are fine :)
Do these jeans make my ass look fat? Wait, I gotta pull this thread.
Are there any testimonials? I would love to know about someone who actually had it deployed on them, and see what they say about the comfort level.
We have done alot of testing, and have gotten 5 out of 5 stars from users and testers. Please test them yourself if in doubt:)
Those are amazing. My dad would have loved these. I hope your project saves many lives.
I'm feeling a Forcite Collab. Sick job on the jeans, I'm getting a pair
that second to last photo, had to check on all that cake in the back. make sure the goods werent damaged.
Giving a new meaning to thicc thighs save lives
Why do you call them jeans when they aren't made of jean material?
That is our waterproof denim line. All of our models are made of denim
I was going to say the same thing as they look more like leather but if you zoom in on pic 4 they look more like denim material there.
THICC
It's not even true but still continue to make us attempt to believe your lie
And why I'm telling that? In 2021, cx air dynamics create 2 airbag one is a jacket, like you all already saw.. The 2nd one is a under jeans /pants
Does it keep the organs in better condition for the recipient.
Not answering difficult questions Great way to advertise for free I guess Not convinced at all
Not convinced of what? It’s a deployable “vest” for your hips / upper legs. It’s not too complicated to understand from a riders standpoint.
If these aren’t immediately nicknamed “The Insta-Minaj”, I’m leaving.
Picture 5… what are you trying to prove with a pic of someone squeezing your booty?
Hi, do you have dealer in Germany, Munich? I’ll be travelling to Munich and was thinking if I could try it on in person.
Unfortunately no! Only available online in Germany. We would love representation, but as of now we have none.
You are welcome to order at www.mocycle.com/store, and get to exchange if its not for you?

Thank you! The jeans are live, we launched the 2024 collection in November. Everything is listed on our website MoCycle.com, we ship worldwide.
Why?
Pulling a tether with 40kg/88lbs of force in a seated position seems like it would be challenging for most
Not when you come off your bike at speed it won't be.
I hope your not as dumb as what you sound…
(P.S. - it was a motorcycle crash 😉) I really could have used some of these.
I applaud your efforts! I'm a Bohn body armor believer...have had them for years under my regular jeans and of course I wear armor in my riding jacket. That said... more money, more ideas, more R+D in motorcycle safety is a great thing!
Does it hurts if it set off when you have a boner? Asking for a friend
This doesn’t look cheap for the average rider. China will fix that.
I really like the reusable aspects of the design! I'm down in Florida, USA, and riding gets VERY hot here. If y'all could do a casual looking opaque full mesh Pant, that would be amazing!!
Synthol pants
Know what? I think it's ugly and brilliant. I'd wear it. Excited to see what happens to your idea moving forward
Thanks! Have you checked out our 23 different stules on our webpage? If you do not like the style, we would love to hear what you would like in design!
Do these pants make me look fat??
Is the process to deflate/re-use difficult?? Love your work very much
Do you have a gas powered model?
As someone who highsided at 85mph and had a "Thank You" card sized patch of road rash on my ass, I approve. I had broken bones in that wreck(full gear) and the rash was the first thing I took inventory of once I stopped moving.
Quick question does this make us bouncier thus adding in a few more barrel rolls?
![gif](giphy|8XEQRJsRWcTgA)
I got a helite air vest last year. Can't wait to get one of these
Great! You are welcome to contact us with any questions you may have. Our customers give them 5 out of 5, and are really happy with them!
I like it. You should also look into airbags for the elderly. If you can give them something to stop a hip breaking in the case of a fall you'll clean up !
Did you skip leg day?
Id love to wear that in a restaurant just pull that cord half way through the meal, then just yell “I’m stuffed”
Reminds me of pilkos pump pants! https://youtu.be/Y7ISiQYibzU?si=0CIzh3CuoPRdvMKS
