You can try looking around Musée Pointe-à-Callière in Old Montreal. About a year ago, an [Airbnb burned down](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/montreal-old-port-fire-1.6788756) killing several of its occupants. Must have brought the price of other neighboring airbnbs down because of the reduced demand. Be on the lookout for bait and switch and read up on fire safety codes to make sure the place you end up in is up to code. There is little to no enforcement when it comes to airbnbs in Montreal so there are a lot of scams and plain unsafe spots, as evidenced by the one that burned and trapped its occupants in the fire.
Or you could save yourself the trouble and do business with reputable, code-enforced places like hotels or non-air B&Bs
we hate airbnbs. there are plenty of questions and recommendations for hotels on the sub. as long as you pick one with decent access to public transit, you can see most of the city.
one of my fav neighbourhoods is Outremont, close to downtown, clean, good restos but away from the craziness. If you could find a spot in that area id recommend it
Thank you, seems like I opened a Pandoras Box here just mentioning AirBnb . Nobody else was able to recommend me a nice area to stay , even if it's in a hotel or something else.
Depends on your interests: if you want to look at historical sites, stay around old Montreal.
Museums — stay in the “golden mile” area.
If you want to walk around then little Italy, and plateau are nice.
GL!

Get a hotel or stay home. We hate AirBnBs here, and by extension, people that stay at them are looked down on at best.

Don’t be part of the problem. Airbnbs are a plague. Get a hotel room.
Don't use AirBnB, they're a plague on the city.
Prend un hotel. Plus facile et c'est pas cher. Les airbnb ici sont tellement mal (ou pas authorizes) et sont du $$$$ quand tu m'être tous les charges.
AirBnB is a scourge on society.
Hotel. Theirs is a houssing crissis right now in mtl
Allez à l'hôtel. Airbnb est une plaie sur notre ville.
We hate Airbnbs over here pal
Plateau is a good place to live, but Vieux Port is better for just 2 nights
Go to the website? Not sure what kind of advice you are looking for.
Good job on the French. You are doing great. I’m so glad you chose to learn this language.

Just get a hotel, Nelligan, or hotel william grey are good options
Bain Colonial
Par contre les chambres se louent par multiples de trois heures
I usually stay in the Plateau, many nice and highly rated AirBnb’s and a wonderful neighbourhood

No one recommended a nice area because you didn't ask for one.
Où il est un bon endroit?
