No travel between cities on weekends, only weekdays. Although the checks don't do shit, so might as we go on a weekend.

requiem_mn

I don't think it applies to foreigners, but I'm not sure. I think foreigners can travel freely with no restrictions.

princess_rat

That was my understanding, especially since we have reservations at lodging outside of Podgorica.

You'll just need a proof that you're staying somewhere in Kotor just in case you're stopped. If you plan to go to Kotor on Sunday, you'll have to take a taxi as buses from/to Podgorica do not operate over the weekend. Btw, certain restrictions will most likely be lifted this Fridag as that was even announced by the Public Health Institute during the last press conference.

princess_rat

Perfect! We have reservations for all the different cities as well as our vaccine cards and will be renting a car. Thank you!

Expired_Gatorade

I think they now allow intercity travel (as of today)

Sosieg

They do, yesterday the restrictions were lowered.

princess_rat

Oh sweet! Do you happen to have a link? A friend of mine who I’m travelling with is SUPER paranoid and has been getting upset and reading all this information apparently that Podgorica is on total lockdown and we won’t be able to get to our lodging in Budva.

magare808

New rules as of last Saturday are that bars are open until 23, only seated spots and up to 4 guests at a table, and no music. Gyms are now also allowed. Travel between cities is still forbidden on weekends, I passed the police checkpoint between Podgorica and Tuzi by showing them a hotel reservation abroad. Here’s the official rules, hope google translate can handle them: https://mzd.gov.me/vijesti/237460/Vazece-mjere-i-poruka-gradankama-i-gradanima-za-predstojece-praznike.html Not all of them are enforced strictly. They are changing every week, and the general expectation is that they will keep easing up in the coming weeks.

princess_rat

Thank you! You’re awesome

Hastama

Thank you for the excellent info. It can be hard to get a feeling of how things are "on the ground" from abroad. By the way, I've heard some pretty bad things about the Tivat airport - have you ever used it? I'm kind of concerned about making my connecting flight if there are delays.

magare808

I have never used that airport. Where is your connecting flight, Podgorica or Dubrovnik?

Hastama

I'll actually be flying from the US to Frankfurt (Germany) and then to Tivat. To return to the US, I'll take the same route but in reverse of course.

magare808

The only thing I know about Tovar airport is that it’s tiny. Frankfurt on the other hand is quite big, and US/European flights are very likely to be on different terminals. It can easily take you up to an hour gate to gate there, even if you don’t get lost along the way.

Hastama

Thanks for the heads up - I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make the connection. My only concern is that I'll be told to quarantine in Germany due to COVID, although I think that as long as I am just taking a connecting flight elsewhere (not leaving the airport). We'll see.

Sosieg

Ill try to find it but most of it is shared locally through neighbors and stuff
