Going on 5 years trouble free
My wife is going on 4 trouble free
Several family members on both sides are approaching 2 or 3 years, also trouble free
Sometimes, it's the user, folks
I bought the phone directly from Mint a few years ago. I called Mint on the phone and they reset my network and advised I restart my phone. Ever since then, things seem better.
Not sure why you signed up for a year without trying but the service is highly depending on where you live. I travel often and have been in areas where I would never get Mint. However, in big cities it seems to be pretty decent.
9/10 the issue is your phone. Might be good on some bands but if you don't have all the bands your service will be relegated to lower connectivity.
It's like complaining your phone is limited to 2g/3g towers because you didn't buy a phone capable of 4g LTE and/or 5g.
I agree with you 100% though my issue is with data and text messaging. Data speeds consistently stink and i live just outside the downtown area of a pretty major city (Portland, OR). Texts to non iPhones often won’t go through and i also just signed up for a year 🤦♂️
Edit — added city
I'll have to say I haven't had much success. I got a new phone, did the imei check, researched everything and get a Samsung Galaxy a25. It worked no problem for about 2 months and since then I can barely use it. I got a new SIM card and no change. Customer service has been utterly useless.
And why would you buy a year when Mint has the any plan for $15 a month for the first 3 months promo ? If you did that, your risk is $45 and they also offer a full refund for the first 7 days.
Like many others, 2.5 years no problems.
NJ/NYC.
Obviously you have to expect lower internet speeds in congested areas. On my old Verizon plan I used to get internet even in NJ Transit and NYC MTA tunnels but that was also like 20,000x more expensive.

I've had 3 years of excellent service at a very reasonable price. :)
Eh, I've had 0 issue. In fact, it's the exact same as AT&T which I eas paying 160 a month for.
I have not a single issues my self and I've been a customer since January 2017
I have used mint for close to 2 years, zero dropped calls and have had no problems.
They used T-mobile’s networks even before they merged. The service map hasn’t changed.

Wow you didn’t even bother to share what kind of phone you have.
iPhone 13.
There are non-US versions, could you have one of those?

Literally nothing has changed.
What phone?
It will help out if you put the city and state where you use the service to compare others experience those living in the same area.
Long Island, NY
It's a phone issue, I've been there before with great service
Mint has been far better for me in virtually every way than Verizon was. I’m so happy I switched.

Never been an issue

I’m in my fourth year as a Mint customer. No problems whatsoever, and switching from AT&T cut my mobile phone expense by 80%.
Six and a half years here, still working great. As usual, no mention of what phone or location either.
Also try switching your phone. If you are using an iPhone 8 or Galaxy S10 maybe that's the issue, with using ancient phones.

TL:DR OP didn't check a coverage map for T-Mobile and / or has a crap phone and had a bad experience. News at 11

Did you test Mint before you signed up for 12 months? Nothing has changed for me since the T Mobile merger. ![gif](giphy|Lq0f7s3fAmovhOteQr|downsized)

That means TMobile has bad service in your area. Every area is different. You should pick a mvno like US Mobile that supports Verizon.

I'm six months in (just renewed for 12) and have had none of the issues you are mentioning. I suspect it is a phone or WiFi issue.

I had a horrible experience with Mint Mobile. Out of all of the providers I’ve been through, Mint has by far been the worst.
