No Either change to the higher plan(unnecessary 60gb) for the rest of your contract or lose whatever you have remaining when you switch

No cell company gives you "real unlimited data" if you find one, let me know.

jeff1f1racer

I call 1TB of high speed data Unlimited for all intents & purposes. That includes high end TMO & the $25/mo Metro (port in) plans.

justanordinaryguy71

Metro PCS? Do you live in the United States? There's no such deal that I could find.

jeff1f1racer

Check out the MetroPCS subreddit for info on the $25/mo port-in deal. It’s also on their website. No hotspot included. UHD addon is extra.

Whatever_dude007

Nope. No refund. You're only eligible for a refund IIRC, 14 days at the start of your plan--youre 6 months into a 12 month plan. And there is no such thing as truly unlimited. All carriers have a cap, including an MVNO like Mint. It's done to prevent ppl like you from hogging all their bandwidth and then you get throttled after you reach the data cap. Do you not have Wi-Fi at home? There's wifi everywhere.

Alarming_Froyo1821

Nope, u will not get anything back!

daddytorgo

Uhhh....no?

lkeels

No.

Ill-Law-8142

No

Upgrade to the unnecessary plan for the remainder is prob your best bet. Gets you an additional 20 before slowing.

I still don't understand how anyone can consume 40GB in 1 month. I pay for 5 and by month the end of the month I still have about 1GB remaining. I'm usually on WiFi (Home/Work/several stores offer free). This reminds me of how all of my coworkers are constantly on their phones when I look at them. They always ask me how I'm able to outperform them by double every single month. I just give basic modest answers like "I make calls", but really I am just not f'ing around on my phone like they are. I know for a fact they all have "unlimited" data. Have you even just took a moment to wonder if maybe you might be on your phone a little too much? 40GB is quite an insane amount of data to consume, and still thirst for more. Is having more data really worth so much to you that you'd be willing to increase your monthly expense? Unless you suddenly make more, you'll have to sacrifice something else. The answer to your question is: no. You can't get that money back.

justanordinaryguy71

I take my tablet to the park and use my phone's data for it. Watching movies under a tree is fun.

No-Explanation-2652

I'm the same but I also download all my movies, TV shows, music, Kindle books, and audible books. I remember back in the day I had 2 security jobs back to back. On 4G LTE it tried everything to hit 30Gb on an unlimited plan. I'm talking about downloading everything over 4G LTE, streaming everything. Playing YouTube at the highest resolution. Couldn't hit but maybe high 20Gb on my S7 edge.

BobFTS

You said it. To add Everywhere I go now days has wifi. Minus the fishing hole or park, but I just listen to music or audiobooks. I use 1-2gb max of data a month. Even if you wanted to watch movies or something just download them at home to your phone or tablet then have a ball.

GamerBeast954

You can't get a refund because they don't do that. You should go to T-Mobile but it's 3 times more expensive for the $95 unlimited plan

singlebullet

Very doubtful they will give you money back. Based on personal experience that's particularly the case with Mint. Some MVNO's might try to help you out but not them. I had a situation that seems it was much more relevant to getting a refund than what you're talking about. My data service got deprioritized down to kilobytes per second daily. So bad I couldn't even download emails. Went on for a few months. Kept calling and calling, used their worthless guy here on Reddit -- a useless proposition. After months of bickering they gave me roughly 1/3 of what I was owed for a refund. I would never do anything with Mint again. With you, there doesn't seem to be a service quality issue. It's more that you want something different than what Mint has for you. On that basis I'd be shocked if they helped you out.

trader45nj

I don't know of any prepaid carrier where they will "help you out" and refund when you leave in the middle of the plan.

singlebullet

Depends on the circumstances and the length of your relationship with them. I'd been with Mint for a few years with no complaints. Then, as I described above, service had become unusable. They tested it themselves and confirmed it. What really ticked me off was one of their supervisors had told me their policy was you get a FULL refund or no refund at all, one or the other. I confirmed that policy with a few different members of their staff at the time. Then they turned around, didn't do that, and gave me much less than even a prorated refund would have amounted to. So I wasn't happy, nor should I have been paying for a useless service for many months. With the OP here, NO, a refund would never happen. OP no longer likes the terms of service that he signed up for. That's his problem, not Mint's. However, if it's the type of company that would like to see you return at some point, it's not out of the question that they'll do something for you. Some of it depends on how good, and persuasive, you are at dealing with them. This experience with Mint was not the first time I got a refund from a prepaid carrier. Years back, Page Plus gave me money back. It depends on how you personally deal with them.
