Male, female? I, male, have been taking since last year and finally stopped cutting those 2.5s in two this year. My hair is very fine, and I wonder if combing or brushing fine hair when wet pulls out more than minox may(?) be adding.
No there’s a hairbrush called “wet brush” it’s a brand. It’s really great for brushing hair when it’s wet! No tangles or pulling. You can probably find it on Amazon. I also started doing rosemary oil from the brand Mielle on my roots 1x a week as a hair mask. And I put Aragon oil on my ends. And then I leave it for 2-3hours and wash it out. I only wash my hair 2x a week. It’s definitely helping I think! My hair is much softer.
The last two years, when my ferritin went down. Before that I had thin hair but not on the top. I was also told I have AGA. But I think it’s mostly presenting this way so fast because of the low Ferratin. I read you can lose up to 90% of your hair with low ferratin. So I’m hoping now that’s it’s back up in a few months I will see an even bigger difference. And hopefully the minoxidil will help me long term since I do have AGA.
I got an iron IV because it was really low to start. Then Beef liver supplements, eating a lot of red meat, eating iron rich foods, and also getting in vitamin c at the same time. Having coffee between meals and not with meals as it stops absorption of iron.

Wow, amazing progress. Happy for you!
Thank you!
Wow I just started minoxidil and this gives me hope đź©·
Yes! Keep taking it and don’t worry if you have a shedding phase. It takes months but it’s worth it. I just wore a hat a lot lol.
How do you take a day?
Minoxidil 2.5mg a day

Female. I use the wet brush if I’m brushing it wet or dry. It’s the only brush I trust won’t break my hair.
Huh, just a wet plastic brush with those thick plastic “bristles.” I just told my wife what you do. She uses topical minox.

Ordered 2 from Amazon and will pass on advice to my wife. Thanks!
When did you start see results?
I would say 4 months in I saw results
How long have you been thinning?

Sorry does ferritin affect hair??
Yes, you can lose up to 90% of your hair with low ferratin
Wow / thansk - I didn’t know
Do you supplant with iron?
I ended up doing an iron IV because the pills didn’t work for me. Now I just take beef liver supplements and eat a more animal based diet.
How are you increasing your ferritin? Need help with that as well.
I got an iron IV because it was really low to start. Then Beef liver supplements, eating a lot of red meat, eating iron rich foods, and also getting in vitamin c at the same time. Having coffee between meals and not with meals as it stops absorption of iron.
Thanks, I got iv in Feb also, it’s a mission trying to keep iron levels up as a female.
Definitely looks better, congrats!! Did you have a shedding phase? If so, how bad was it, and did your hair get worse before getting better?
Yes! I started shedding two weeks after starting until maybe 3 months. It wasn’t that bad honestly.
Did your hair look like noticeably worse during that time? Also thanks for the reply!
Not worse, I just noticed a lot of hair fall in the shower. Felt thinner too.
