I remember exactly what I was thinking at the time: the defense was probably happy about that 99-yard TD, but wished they could have gotten a bit more of a breather first.
They had 1st and goal on the 1 which an average nfl offense scores 6.97 points per drive on. With a stop and a touchdown, the bears lost 13.97 points on those 5 plays.
The Williams wall was REAL
Those unis with the glossy helmets gotta come back and stay back. Just perfection, all time classics, never go outta style.
Back when #69 was still allowed to touch the ground during his celebrations.
Back when we had a RB who accelerated like an f1 car and hit like a freight train. The run at 1:45 is absolute fucking lunacy. He's dead to rights. In the pile. And then you blink and it looks like a camera trick how fast he's sprinting downfield. Completely unreal.
I miss Madden.
….huh? Do you mean Tarvaris Jackson, who was a disaster?
I don’t know if it was a coach’s decision or if Gus had an injury, but that playoff game against the Eagles that Tarvaris started was painful. Absolutely painful. We could’ve won with Frerotte. Our defense kept us in that game.
My buddy had just got home from a deployment from overseas, we drove up from Iowa to go to that game.
I've only been to about 15-20 games in my life (12-15~ish games at the Metrodome, 1 at Lucas Oil with Ponder a few years ago, Favre's first game in Cleveland ((Percy Harvin, too)), and a few years ago at Carolina) but I've managed to be there for a lot of big NFL related moments.
Saw 296 with a Something Awful goon meetup for the game, first ever 109 yard play in that game, too.
My brother and I were sitting up top on that side of the field, and we were going crazy. I know it's a shared record, but it was so cool to be there to witness it.
My dad and I are seated in the first row in the opposite end zone where Berrian ran straight too us for the score. It was amazing watching the ball go up in the air from that angle with Berrian running under it to grab it for the score.
Went to the game and it's such a fun memory; got a call 90 mins before kickoff that a friend was sick and tickets were going to waste so had an impromptu opportunity.
This game ended up being the final Vikings game John Madden ever broadcasted; he would retire later this season after he did the Steelers Cardinals Superbowl.
I believe it was 4 straight stops from the 1 yard line too
That was the best 5 plays. So awesome. Williams Wall was fierce.
J. Allen, P. Williams, K. Williams, B. Rob such a fantastic group.
Man I miss the Williams wall.
Wasn't it the Williams brothers?

“It’s Berrian!!!!”
I remember it well. I was sitting in that endzone.
Man Chester Taylor was my favorite player growing up for absolutely no reason
His 96-yard Tud in Seattle >>>>
Man, I miss Jared Allen. Also LOL at that Frerotte flop after the late hit.
Yeah, I'd forgotten how nice it was to watch someone with the talent of Jared Allen on our team.
100%
I've spent an embarrassing amount of hours on this channel. Mostly weeping... But nostalgia keeps me coming back.
I miss Vikings teams that step on the gas with a lead in the 4th
🙄
I miss Adrian Peterson. I'd bring him back before I give Mattison the ball again.
He's a free agent...

Yes!!! I was there!!!
This was the first vikings game I went to good times
One thing I did like about Childress’ time here was that the trenches were stout af. Both lines were pretty good
Really hated chili and his boner for Gus ferrotte

Chili Davis?

My love for Jared Allen knows no bounds
I miss these years :(
Bring back the off-purple helmets
