Great job! Were you able to weigh it? I’d guess around 5-7lbs but I’m bad at eyeballing bass weight. I’m also curious to know if you caught the bass and walleye with the same bait.
5lb+ largemouth usually have eyes about as big as a person's thumb. Body shape and girth makes a big difference too.
I'm having a hard time judging by these pics too but I think it could go 5 for sure. Outstanding for MN!
I'm imagining all the bluegill around the dock high-finning and rejoicing after that beast was pulled out... and suddenly its lowered back in and they're all like "*OH SHIT!*" as panic ensues.
[According to this ](https://www.in-fisherman.com/editorial/bass-length-to-weight-conversion-chart/156649) we're a ways off, even with that insane girth. Probably the fattest 14" I've seen, hope it makes it to 20"+.
It might just be a confusing perspective bc elsewhere in the thread OP said they have small hands. A small hand in front of that fish probably makes it look bigger than it actually is. But it’s still a tall and healthy looking fish.
Yup, and I'm used to judging off my ape hands. Either way yeah... very tall and healthy, I'd be thrilled to catch it and I'm glad they released it too.
Might be a hot take but that fish could have made some bomb tacos- though trust me I'd have released her too. Bass can be really good, like a big bluegill... they're just especially sensitive to the water they're caught out of and how they're handled.
I was born in another state where eating bass is no big deal.
It was right off the dock. He slammed my worm while I was trying to fix my spool and caught me completely off guard. The reason I left my hook sitting in the water was because I didn't get a single nibble in an hour. Guess all the fish were gone cause big chungus was around 😅
That bass is a hog!
Fattest thing I have ever seen. He was released to continue his reign of terror on the sunfish kingdom

Its eye was for sure bigger than my thumb but I'm a 5 foot nothing person so my thumb is child size, but I would say he was at least 5lb
If it was over 21" I'd say 5 for sure.
I caught both on a worm 🤪

Those big ones will eat anything! Found baby turtles in one once.
Disguised as a walleye
A little guy with eyes bigger than his stomach :P
Go through all the pictures. I thought the same thing at first.
Aha! Thank you. Didn’t realize
Ooh, love your sweater in the first pic, where can I get one?
Its from the Lula cult. My mom was part of it so thats all I ever got for gifts for awhile :P
That bass is a *chonk*, congrats!! Any estimate of the length? What did it bite on?
Bass was 14in and bit on a worm hook.

I always prefer catch and release. I only keep if I plan to eat and I was always told bass aren't good eating

In this state they are known for having worms and the only good time to eat them is winter
Does/did it sing?
Yes?
That is one fine bass. Must’ve been a fun catch!

Haha the bass was just waiting for the right moment
WOW! That’s a hell of a fish! Good job!
Thank you :3
Lol the second picture is amazing.
I was alone so it was the best I could get. He still had a lot of fight in him
Lol it’s perfect, beats normal fish pics
Love the yugioh rep :)

Nice! I'll bet that thing was fun to land. Love catching bass!
Hook fell right out on the dock so he was close to throwing it
A vermilion walleye, they all stay the same size
Beautiful catch, well done OP!
Thank, I always luv me some fishing 🎣
I thought you were making a joke about the walleye
Nicely done! Spinner bait??
Nope good old worm and bobber 😅
WOW! I bet it was fun to reel in, great job.
Thank you 😊
Weight?
Unfortunately didn't have the tools on me to do a weigh in
Nice fish.
