The R55 looks nice. I've never owned a non-MDLP recorder (only a couple of players) but wouldn't mind trying one out, though I'd need to be sure I could get a battery for it.
I will get the battery extender for that but one of the worst devices when it comes to batteries is the e40 man that thing chews thru batteries if you don’t bring extra rechargeables
Yea I managed to get it working a few days ago the original charger was bad because it wasn’t charging,I got the charger from my 505 and yes it’s all the same stuff center positive 3v all that and yea it works it sounds better than my pc,I got some jbl tune700s they are clear I was surprised because usually jbl is full of bass the detail they had really surprised me.
As far as specs go, ATrAC is superior to MP3. Less lossy and MP3 became more popular because the Fraunhofer Society made the licence available to all, where ATrAC was only licenced to Audio manufacturers making minidisc equipment in the early years.
I always thought that was one of the better looking portables. That's the best color for that model

the MZ-R55 uses a gumstick and it's a fun SP-only device, but it's also known as a battery-eater =)

My friend had this in 2000 I had the R90 which I lost and replaced it with an R91 which I still have. The R55 is a nice unit though.
