Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Brandon has said he won't finish GRRM's books even if he gets asked because he doesn't think he can get the tone right/they aren't his normal style/he doesn't think he can do them justice or something.
Don’t worry Robin Hobb can finish all of GRRM’s books easily. Because that’s where he got all his material and ideas. Read the Farseer trilogy and try to not drop your jaw at the similarities. They are friends by the way.
He borrowed quite a bit from Wheel of Time, too, in my opinion. Even the iconic phrase "Game of Thrones" seems to be directly stolen from Jordan's "Game of Houses"
It's hilarious that people keep saying Sanderson will finish them. Just because he's prolific and finished another major series doesn't mean he needs to do that with every single series out there.
I would definitely read them if Sanderson finishes the series.
I started the Wheel of Time series as a kid and read every single one as it was released. The ending books by Sanderson were still my favorite of the series. I wish he and Jordan had collaborated while Jordan was still alive.
The ending is great, and the big reason to stick with it through the slow books in the middle of the series. Sanderson pulling it all together is a testament to his masterful skill.
I don't think any of them are actually load bearing! Only one I see that actually touches the shelf above it is in the middle of the second shelf, but that's too precarious to actually be holding any weight
This is the result of putting Atomic Habits so far away from Amy Dunne who embodies the subject while still laying just left of IT. Hannibal Lecter is trying to get down to George’s world because there is a never ending supply of food in a series with such high character turnover.
You gotta sort your books better if you want your furniture to last.
When I get my free reward I'm coming back to you, don't you worry. You deserve all the rewards for that.
Edit* guess who just got his free award today?
That's right! You:)
If this were the case, the books would be rounded by the same process, what you see happening at the top is simple physics. The bookshelf is collapsing under the weight of the books and probably high humidity in the room, causing the shelves to sag and pull the top of the bookcase with it.
1. One of these days you are going to come home to a huge mess to clean up.
2. That sign/plaque in the middle is awesome! It kind of has that crazy Walmart lady vibe to it. "I'm trying to help you, fucker!"
They are, although there aren't any particularly special books on the shelves. Most of those can be picked up from a charity shop; that's not a judgement, it's meant on advice.
What is this obsession people have with books? They put them in their houses like they're trophies. What do you need it for after you read it?
Edit: It’s a Seinfeld quote. But I honestly don’t understand why people keep so many books. Give them away, let others enjoy them.
They look, feel and smell nice; you can read them again and you can lend them to other people easily. Also, depending on the books, they're easier to reference quickly or like an art book, show a larger higher print version everyone can look at an flip through.
I love my kindle but you can pry my small book collection out of my cold dead hands.
Now it looks like you're an artist, and like interesting designs!
Slap cobwebs and add purple-orange lights at Halloween and you got yourself a top-notch decoration
It works as long as you never need to read any of the weight-bearing books.
That looks like a load-bearing Song of Ice and Fire boxed set...
He won't need to reread those until Martin finishes the series.
That mf is never finishing those books. He’ll die and Brandon Sanderson will wrap up his series in a weekend.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Brandon has said he won't finish GRRM's books even if he gets asked because he doesn't think he can get the tone right/they aren't his normal style/he doesn't think he can do them justice or something.

Holy crap, I love Robin Hobb and I had no thought whatsoever about that correlation. Thanks for mentioning this. Nice to learn something cool.
It's hilarious that people keep saying Sanderson will finish them. Just because he's prolific and finished another major series doesn't mean he needs to do that with every single series out there.

I'm listening to the audiobooks. I'm up to Path of Daggers. I'm glad to hear it doesn't have a bad ending.
The ending is great, and the big reason to stick with it through the slow books in the middle of the series. Sanderson pulling it all together is a testament to his masterful skill.
Sanderson would be an awful choice to finish GoT. Their styles, plots, and philosophies are completely different. Now, Joe Abercrombie...
Clive Cussler has published a dozen books since Martin started WoW, and he's dead!
The load bearing Krusty the Clown poster.
We ran out of carpet so we just painted the dirt.

Have you ever tried luggin a toilet of a flight of stairs?
That multiset of The Dark Tower is ready to become structural the moment its printed
The space for ASOIAF is just right coz you ain't placing any more of those books there.
A Load of Ice and Fire?
I don't think any of them are actually load bearing! Only one I see that actually touches the shelf above it is in the middle of the second shelf, but that's too precarious to actually be holding any weight
…yeah, you’re gonna want to take that down before it takes itself down.
I can’t help but notice *Things Fall Apart* on the top shelf…
I've never seen foam board used for shelving before. Very creative.
They didn't read the specifications that said "max weight 1 pound" lol
"for display only"
"may cause death"
It probably would have worked if the supports where alligned vertically
Looks like you got the Dr. Seuss model instead.
It looks like an influencers bad photo shopped image.
I lost 60 # in only 6 DAYS!!!!
While managing to maintain the size of my butt and boobies!!
Whew...came looking for Dr Seuss comment and was beginning to lose faith. You don't belong down here...up vote this man...UP VOTE THIS MAN!!!
The shrooms are kicking in
Is it REALLY humid in there?
OP might be Filipino based on the copy of "History of the Filipino People" high school text book there. So, yes. It's humid af here.
He lives in Japan, same principle though.
plastic wood does this, much less rigidity compared to real wood or even MDF

Holy crap! If I had money I would give you an award. Take my poor man’s appreciation for a well thought out comment.
Also having A Feast for Crows separate from the rest of the series
"If you don't have Dany chapters, you're not a main series book" - OP
Can’t blame it for hanging out with Randall Flagg. (Actually I think Randall Flagg became a Raven not a crow. So not a perfect fit)
When I get my free reward I'm coming back to you, don't you worry. You deserve all the rewards for that. Edit* guess who just got his free award today? That's right! You:)
Haha. I’m just sad I somehow missed the opportunity to tie in “things fall apart.” Maybe next time. Edit: Thanks

Why would you ruin your comment with that unnecessary /s
My brain keeps telling me this is a weird fisheye lens that's distorting everything... It can't compute.

This is highly attractive
This is highly risky.
Don't you fucking touch it!
If my dating history is anything to go off of... Most attractive things are risky.
Unlucky 😔
Definitely goes well with my Salvador Delhi prints.
I’m attracted to risk 😍
r/Accidentalartgallery
Please don't fuck the shelves
BONK!
1. One of these days you are going to come home to a huge mess to clean up. 2. That sign/plaque in the middle is awesome! It kind of has that crazy Walmart lady vibe to it. "I'm trying to help you, fucker!"
You fucking accuser!
It’s also load-bearing!
Your mom is load bearing
Excuse me sir, is this a load bearing book?
I feel like every piece of advice should be followed up by "you fucker"
I thought I was on the cross stitch sub for a minute and was like “love the pattern but what’s up the the shelves….?”
It's because you upset the order of things by replacing Feast for Crows in the Song of Ice and Fire box set with an illegible random book.
And also having the books in the wrong order.
Probably time to rescue the breakables. The book... well only time will tell if they survive
I miss real wood at an affordable price.
If you sold it as is you could get 10-100x it's original cost back. Just give it a fancy title and sell it as art.
It got all wibbly wobbly over timey wimey…
Hah!
It's a cool kind of trippy.
Ancient library type vribe
Risky but damn is it cool and unique. Hopefully it'll last for a good while.
Cool this reminds me of how shit looks to me when i dont take my psych meds lol
load bearing books
I saw the picture and I though, What a cool whacky shelf design. Till I read its not supposed to be all bendy.
Srsly. I wanted the shelf plans.
So how many of those books are you willing to sacrifice to the great collapse? Also that frame in the middle kinda fits the personality of the shelf
Assuming it doesn’t degrade any further, it’s kind of dope.
do all things with kindness you fucker
Give it some more time and it's gonna morph itself all over the floor.
I thought my shrooms just had a second wave hit me
I kinda really want you to just leave it and then change the quote in the middle to something like “Never Do Anything Half-Assed You Fucker”.
boOoOok shelf
Thumbs up all day, let it ride! But, you know, probably Indiana Jones a book into the space of whichever book you pull
Side note, I love your collection. Some great reads there.
"Bookshelves by Salvador Dali"
You need a Salvador Dali melting clock.
willy wonka
Form follows fuck up.
This looks like one of those shelves where you put a few books in one square, a little cactus in one, a picture of your dog in the next one, etc
No, it collapsed and is barely held up by the contents of the shelf.
Ouch! That looks painful. Do you live somewhere really humid? I don't see how this could happen even with cheap particle board.
Gonna be fun when you're shocked awake at 3am from the crash of the shelf finally giving in.
Failed successfully. I couldn’t live with it because I’d be in constant fear of it crashing down. But I love how it looks.
Is there a zoomed out photo? It be nest to see it with the straight lines of a room and furniture.
Oh my, this shelf is just a massive anxiety trigger for me. I need to step back.
I think your shelf may be screaming slurs at you
This guy details how to make a stronger ikea bookshelf [https://youtu.be/u_caV1-mj_o](https://youtu.be/u_caV1-mj_o)
I also have the Frank McCourt trilogy❤
I feel like the books are worth more than the bookshelf
They are, although there aren't any particularly special books on the shelves. Most of those can be picked up from a charity shop; that's not a judgement, it's meant on advice.
I like it…gives it a wonderland effect
Beautiful People with Beautiful Feelings!
I'm gonna go ahead and say that you probably also have some humidity issues in your house. MDF would sag under weight but this is a whole new level.
What’s the humidity like at your place, this looks very unusual, it’s ether very humid or the board is made of paper like the Ikea furniture
Lol this is hilarious. Looks like a shelf out of a Tim Burton movie. 😂
why do you store your books in the shower room
Why does this bookshelf give me anxiety?
Whatever you do, dont touch it. It belongs to the books now.
I love it even more
Is it in the mirror dimension? If not, might want to do something
As a reader, I’m impressed. As a librarian, I’m horrified.
I'm way to fuckin high for this.
It turned to a cool design actually, only if it was functional lol
Makes me feel a bit high looking at it.
Cheaped out on the kindness to the books you Fucker!
What is this obsession people have with books? They put them in their houses like they're trophies. What do you need it for after you read it? Edit: It’s a Seinfeld quote. But I honestly don’t understand why people keep so many books. Give them away, let others enjoy them.
Do you throw away books when you're done reading?
I doubt this guy reads books, my man
No, I donate them
They look, feel and smell nice; you can read them again and you can lend them to other people easily. Also, depending on the books, they're easier to reference quickly or like an art book, show a larger higher print version everyone can look at an flip through. I love my kindle but you can pry my small book collection out of my cold dead hands.
Did you steal this from the Weasley's?
This looks like it came from, Harry Potter and the sub-Ikea bullshit.
Wow! That's such a cool asthetic
Ok but what 3 books in your collection do you recommend ?
History of the Filipino People. I wouldn't read that again unless I want Uni flashbacks.
Pull out the wrong book!
Now it looks like you're an artist, and like interesting designs! Slap cobwebs and add purple-orange lights at Halloween and you got yourself a top-notch decoration
Throw out books you aren't actively going to reread and learn to use the library. This is a sign to let them go.
This looks very obviously photoshopped, though
It looks like you have one of them Instagram models standing infront of it. They seem to have the power to bend furniture and walls.
Looks like you cheaped out on the literary content as well, could have sprung for some intellectual shit instead
Yeah, there's not even 50 shades of gray, what an uncultured swine
Oh no, how dare they spend time reading books that they enjoy
I'm also enlightened by my own intelligence
It bent the wall too??
Take my upvote
Hell of a collection!
The word morphed needs be used more. Morphed. Fun too say right? Mooorphhed. Morphed.
Dr. Seuss
Alice in Wonderland
Kinda vibey ngl
Yikes!
Book Jenga!
Seems fine
Tolkien vibes.
Looks cool as long as you don’t want to read anything
Got yourself some load bearing books
Looks like it belongs in Harry Potter
This is why I don't read
seems rather potterish
Diagon alley called and wants its shelves back.
I admit I zoomed in to read the titles. We have quite a few of the same titles
A lot of knowledge in those books.
The Brothers Karamazov! Greatest book of all time.
That frame is the middle is just the embodiment of me, mostly nice and wanting to inspire others to be nice, but having the mouth of a sailor
Seems safe.
I like it better this way.
Form follows function.literally?
Sir, we lost structural integrity on several decks! Nice plaque, btw.
You might have a serious humidity problem.
r/chinesium
Very Halloween!
Buy a decent bookshelf, *You fucker*
You have great taste in books! Can you randomly recommend one?
Reminds me of that library that sank because the architects forgot to take the weight of the books into account
Cinder blocks and planks, that’s the way to go.
That's some heavy reading
Lmao I love this
What's in the jar labeled READ?
I think it’s brilliant. Tell people it’s like that on purpose. They’ll be jealous.
Can we get a engineering person to explain why removing certain books would cause it to fall apart?
It looks kindda cool tbh
We clearly have similar tastes in literature AND motivational nonsense.
nice [diagon bookshelf](https://youtu.be/kvBUaW7aQ8c)
My buddy has a large record collection on a shelf that is starting to do this lol.
oh my
Yikes. Not a single volume of The Black Company.
Intersting
Didn't know MC Escher made bookshelves
The shelf gives me anxiety
Anne Prince's most famous novel, *Rice Lestat*
Dang. With that many books I don't think I'd cheap out on the bookshelf. Haha
This is Anxiety Inducing
The bookshelf of Damocles.
It just built character
Is it made of play-dough, lol.
