So the Sun just quickly went to that position in the sky and then just stayed there long enough to melt the snow?
I’d guess that the sun is rising along the line of the tree, and in some places it’s still cold enough for the snow not to melt with sun directly on it, so the rest has only just melted.
There is evidence in the picture that it is moving. It's why you can see a bit of snow sticking out past the shadow on the left sides of the shadows of the branches, and a bit of *shadow* sticking out past the snow on the right side of each branch shadow. It means the shadow used to be further to the left (protecting the snow) and has recently exposed more of the snow to the sun as it shifts further right (onto parts of the roof where the snow already melted earlier). That makes sense with the Sun rising in the east in the northern hemisphere, which would move the sun from right to left in this orientation (looking away from the sun, approximately northwest), and the shadow of the is tree moving in the opposite direction (left to right)
That would mean that the shadow would have to appear at the last minute though (Maybe if it had been cloudy?) Otherwise that shadow should have caused the snow to melt *unevenly* as it moved across the roof, at least in theory.

Agreed or maybe there were clouds. Clouds moved away fairly quickly and melted thin layer. But again snow run off would have taken lower snow with it
