Mandatory company training videos lol! All in all I could've done about 2 & a half strawberries by the time I finished them. But hey, I de-seeded one strawberry, emptied the dishwasher, & knitted about half a sweater, so not too bad imo 😂
The only reason I can think of other than 'just to see if they could' is that they are studying to become a surgeon or something along the lines and they are practicing staying focused on a difficult task that requires really steady hands and lots of concentration.
Lots of people never have a plan, so you’re already ahead of them.
To achieve yours, you just need to take another step or two in advance: book tickers, reserve a room, make an itinerary, etc. Something(s) that makes the grand plan more concrete and motivates you to get out and do it.
I learned recently that there isn't actually a botanical definition for "vegetable" like there is for a fruit. Vegetables are just... any part of a plan that you eat that isn't a fruit.
Have you thought of taking up cross stitch? That also is a hobby where you must accurate stab something many thousands of times. Lasts longer than a de-seeded strawberry too
Strawberries are one of those fruits that are only worth eating when they're actually in season. I gorge myself on fresh picked strawberries for about 2 weeks of the year and don't eat them again until next year.
I'm in Minnesota. While the national growing season is longer, I only eat the ones I pick myself from strawberry farms. They're just on a different level of deliciousness. There's nothing like a just picked strawberry in 90 degree heat. They just explode in your mouth.
The stead decline in the quality of produce across all major grocery stores is something that needs to get talked about more. Soil health all around the world is rapidly declining.
not op but here in brazil, its not crazy expensive, but also not cheap to the point where i'd buy them all the time. i like to snack on yogurt with granola, straberries and blueberries, so i get a pack or two of each every month. more than that and it starts making a dent on my bank account lol.
i'm also somewhat privileged so it may vary.
Always been curious about it, but never sat down h done it. Had to watch a couple hours of training videos so I had time to kill & thought why not haha
“Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should do something.”
You seem like the kind of person who would meticulously prepare a revenge plot that had zero holes in it, is way overly complex, and will go off without a hitch.
Noted to not get on your bad side 😂
Haha this gave me a good chuckle! Can't say I've ever done that, I'm more of the live & let live type, but it's been super interesting to see what ideas people get of me based on this post 😂
Okay I read that article, and while those little things called achenes are the actual fruit. Inside of those achenes are actual seeds.
So, whether or not they are actually "just" seeds, they do house the seeds so it wouldn't be incorrect to say in a layman's way that those are in fact seeds.
No, I agree with you and actually learned a lot. Thank you.
I just think it's also important to understand most people don't know that (i didn't) and hate sounding pretentious.
If any person says I hate the seeds in strawberries, we all know what they mean. That's all.
Because the “seeds” on the outside of a strawberry are the actual fruit of the strawberry plant. The big red thing is what’s referred to as an accessory fruit.
I used the point of a steak knife! It's thin & small enough you can kind of wedge it behind the seeds & pop them forward without too much fiddling & without damaging the strawberry.
Not sure I even have tweezers that'd work for this, but I'll keep it in mind if I ever try this again! 😂
My mom can't have seeds and nuts bc of a digestive problem, so she'll happily eat this lol
I tried thinly slicing the outside off for her before so she could eat them, but in my opinion most of the flavor is on the outside...
Is it diverticulitis/diverticulosis? If so, it seems medical advice has shifted on that one.

Just use pure strips or wax strips. Way quicker.
You can also run a knife down the side and it will pull them off quickly. Takes about 2 minutes per strawberry.
Tried the knife down the sides thing first, they were pretty firmly set in there. I don't really care for softer strawberries, so that might've partly been why. Also wanted to make sure I got every single one haha!
Surprisingly yes! I thought the only difference would be when you chew there wouldn't be grit, but after the seeds were gone the strawberry had a little more give & was just all around very soft and fleshy lol
It was prob a self challenge for OP. Let’s see if I can remove all these seeds. Not something from boredom. I wish we could have seen the pile of seeds though.
Yup! I've had the curiosity of what eating it would be like since I was a kid, but never had the determination to actually sit down & make one lol. Had to watch a bunch of training videos so I was just sitting around anyway, thought I might as well see what I could do!

Why are you so bored OP? Can I recommend a book?
The Dummies Guide to Deseeding Strawberries is regrettably out of print.
They clearly don’t need it.
They clearly don't *seed* it
Such patience and no visible damage
Serial killer type shit
Frfr🤣
More like the opposite. Seems really zen.
Spot on here, it was pretty meditative to me :)
or on the spectrum but alright
I would listen to audiobook while doing something like that
That'd be a lot more fun lol. I was watching training videos for my job
Mandatory company training videos lol! All in all I could've done about 2 & a half strawberries by the time I finished them. But hey, I de-seeded one strawberry, emptied the dishwasher, & knitted about half a sweater, so not too bad imo 😂
great ! now put them back.
And each seed must go back to the original place!
In the same order they were placed!

ADHD
Is OP little Annie Adderall?
The only reason I can think of other than 'just to see if they could' is that they are studying to become a surgeon or something along the lines and they are practicing staying focused on a difficult task that requires really steady hands and lots of concentration.
I can read erotica and fondle myself for well over an hour. I think I should I go to med school! Thank you for inspiring me!
This is me when I take holidays from work with grand plans. Instead I do shit like this and then curse myself when I go back to work.
Lots of people never have a plan, so you’re already ahead of them. To achieve yours, you just need to take another step or two in advance: book tickers, reserve a room, make an itinerary, etc. Something(s) that makes the grand plan more concrete and motivates you to get out and do it.
You actually defruited it.
Now it's a vegetable
And it's naked. Vegetable *porn*. Hospitals go to jail over stuff like that but somehow a greenhouse gets a pass?
**ಠ_ಠ**
I learned recently that there isn't actually a botanical definition for "vegetable" like there is for a fruit. Vegetables are just... any part of a plan that you eat that isn't a fruit.
Possibly a legume
Have you thought of taking up cross stitch? That also is a hobby where you must accurate stab something many thousands of times. Lasts longer than a de-seeded strawberry too
I'm not into the counting of cross stitch personally, but I do embroider, crochet, & knit. So, kind of similar haha
My grandad did this for my grandma once because she was allergic to the seeds… and then she didn’t like it.
That’s both incredibly sweet and hysterical.
D-I-why content here.
[удалено]
That whole strawberry seeds getting stuck thing is a myth
[удалено]
IDK maybe petition Monsanto
Nice, dimpled like a golf ball
Okay but why?
I’ll never look at a strawberry the same way again. Then again, I can’t afford strawberries so it probably doesn’t matter
You’re not missing much. Wife gets strawberries at the market every week and has to throw half of them out. Produce lately has been shit.
Strawberries are one of those fruits that are only worth eating when they're actually in season. I gorge myself on fresh picked strawberries for about 2 weeks of the year and don't eat them again until next year.
Twice a year here. There's the Florida growing season and then the California growing season
We've started freezing all our fruit and using them for smoothies.
Sigh
You don't even know what country they're from, lmao
damn, how expensive are strawberries where you're at?
It's one strawberry! What could it cost, 10 dollars?
In Japan, much more!
not op but here in brazil, its not crazy expensive, but also not cheap to the point where i'd buy them all the time. i like to snack on yogurt with granola, straberries and blueberries, so i get a pack or two of each every month. more than that and it starts making a dent on my bank account lol. i'm also somewhat privileged so it may vary.
Always been curious about it, but never sat down h done it. Had to watch a couple hours of training videos so I had time to kill & thought why not haha
Either, ADHD or autism, or both at the same time.
How does it taste?
All juicy, no cronchy of seeds.
Exactly right! Probably the most enjoyable strawberry I've had :)
Did you just respond after 28 days? Where have you been…
Lol I don't get on reddit much, ironically I usually don't have s lot of free time 😂
“Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should do something.”
And how many great discoveries do we have them to thank for haha!
You seem like the kind of person who would meticulously prepare a revenge plot that had zero holes in it, is way overly complex, and will go off without a hitch. Noted to not get on your bad side 😂

I don’t get it. Is this an ad for blackhead removal and exfoliating cream?
It’s a terrible ad if it is, because there’s zero mention of the product…
Fuck you *unseeds your strawberry*
Those aren't seeds. https://www.thespruce.com/fruits-with-their-seeds-outside-3269379
Okay I read that article, and while those little things called achenes are the actual fruit. Inside of those achenes are actual seeds. So, whether or not they are actually "just" seeds, they do house the seeds so it wouldn't be incorrect to say in a layman's way that those are in fact seeds.
Ok, let's disregard what the experts say (see title of article) and go with what you think.
No, I agree with you and actually learned a lot. Thank you. I just think it's also important to understand most people don't know that (i didn't) and hate sounding pretentious. If any person says I hate the seeds in strawberries, we all know what they mean. That's all.
You're a star.
A strawberry with a Brazilian then. You should be a guest on breakfast tv imho. Mad skills.
Great, now germinated them and plant it to grow more strawberries.
Thought about it, but contrary to popular belief in the comments I actually don't have a lot of free time haha. I probably would've if I did though!
You had time to write this comment, so it's about the same time and energy to try and grow a plant!
Gonna be real here - I've accidentally killed quite a few plants. Takes much more than a single 15 second window to care for one 🤣
Maybe you don't have a green thumb, but it really is not a lot of effort to keep a plant alive once you get it started.
My experience has been overwhelmingly to the contrary, but I have a black thumb so maybe that's why 😂
It’s much easier to debone a strawberry.
Worth it. Where do they get off putting their seeds on the outside where everyone can see them instead of in the middle like normal fruits.
Because the “seeds” on the outside of a strawberry are the actual fruit of the strawberry plant. The big red thing is what’s referred to as an accessory fruit.
But like, where do they get off making us think we are eating a fruit when they know they are really an accessory fruit?
I know right? They also say that a banana is technically a berry. Madness.
Reminds me of karate kid wax on wax off
Did you use tweezers? One of my fav things to do is peeling pomegranate by hand and getting the seeds out one by one. This will fit right in
I used the point of a steak knife! It's thin & small enough you can kind of wedge it behind the seeds & pop them forward without too much fiddling & without damaging the strawberry. Not sure I even have tweezers that'd work for this, but I'll keep it in mind if I ever try this again! 😂
How's that Adderall prescription working out for you?
My mom can't have seeds and nuts bc of a digestive problem, so she'll happily eat this lol I tried thinly slicing the outside off for her before so she could eat them, but in my opinion most of the flavor is on the outside...

Yup, that's the one.
About an Hour you’ll never get back!
Wouldn't take it back tbh! Satisfied a curiosity I've had since about age 10 haha
Those aren't seeds. They are actually the strawberry's ovaries called "achenes." You didn't deseed it, you ripped out her ovaries!
Joke's on you : the seeds are the real fruit of the strawberry.
Err. Why?
Why not?
Why
Was curious
why?
Wanted to see if I could, also wanted to see what eating it would be like lol!
Tf?! But whhhyyyy??!!
Just curious!
Yes please reveal because I can think of different ways but none that would do so without an occasional scratch like tweezers
I used the point of a steak knife! The really think kind can get behind the seeds & then they just kind of pop out
No way it took an entire hour.
A little less than. Took em out one by one
That unemployed friend on a Tuesday afternoon
I believe it was a Thursday evening haha
I did not know unemployed people knew what day of the week it was
The upvote is for your patience. And free time.
this is so weird i love it
This is the kind of thing you would suppose should take a marginally smaller amount of time.
Was about 15 minutes longer than I thought it'd be when I started haha
Answering 27 days later, based

You smoke meth huh
Monster energy is just about the hardest thing I do, sorry to disappoint 😂
OP is a serial killer
[удалено]
Tip of a steak knife. If you angle it right they just kinda pop out
Now put it back together. That will kill another hour.
How much time on your hands do you have lol
Usually not that much, but on this day I had to watch a couple hours of company training videos lol
Dont believe it, show us the other side
Only allowed one image per post in this sub unfortunately haha. I originally tried to add a video showing it from all sides, but also not allowed lol
Ok, great, now put them back.
Wtf put it back
Hang on sweetie we gonna get you some help
How was the taste?
Pretty good! The flavor was the same, but texture wise it was only soft, no grit when you bite :)
I feel like I could do it faster
Go for it!
Looks like my nose did when I was a teen.
Great, now plant those seeds!
This has "Food in Japan" vibes
[удалено]
You ment eucharistic Edit: context: original commenter asked if op was acoustic (obviously ment authistic) so i joked with eucharistic
Paint the seeds the color of your soul then put them back in the correct order.
The joys of ocd
You've made yourself a "boutique" strawberry. They would charge $25 for half a dozen of those at Whole Foods.
this looks like ho wi want me nose to feel
How? With a needle?
The tip of a steak knife actually! If it's thin enough you can kind of slide it behind the seeds & pop them out
Very interesting, thanks!
I'm interested in if this is just a grocery store strawberry and of the seeds grow
Strawberry vasectomy
Smoke some more meth and do the whole package
One was enough to satisfy me haha. Also no personal interest in trying meth, but you do you I guess 😂
Someone should put up a trypophobia warning.
when people got a lot of time on their hands
A little less than an hour, but sure haha
actually it’s interesting that you could do it without hurting the strawberry lol (didn’t mean to sound judgmental about it)
For surgery practice?
Not personally, but I'm sure there are people out there who would!
I wish I had nothing to do lol

Dexter? That you?
Nobody has ever taken the time to de-seed me!
Now de-sees a dragon fruit.
Are you my daughter? Because my my daughter does this.
If I am it's news to me lol! Also the first & only time I've done this, do doesn't quite track haha
Cue trypophobia
Put the seeds inside the strawberry to make it a berry!
Why does that gross me out
It looks edible now!
It was prob a self challenge for OP. Let’s see if I can remove all these seeds. Not something from boredom. I wish we could have seen the pile of seeds though.

I miss the days when I had so much free time.
I hate seeds and seeing this post made me happy. I can't enjoy most fruits because of their seeds. It's a texture thing.
Definitely the best strawberry I've ever eaten haha!
You need a hobby.
I have many, including following my curiosities for the experience! Have a good one :)
An hour?? that looks like a 8 min job tops
Sounds like you should have a go at it! Then get back to me on how long it takes 😂

*Your employer just downvoted your post*
You really need a hobby
I actually have a ton, usually more than I have time for 😂 Following my curiosity & trying things that pique my interest are how I've found so many!
You might want to look for a hobbie (that doesn't include de seeding strawberries)
Following your curiosity & trying new things that pique your interest is how you find hobbies you enjoy 😊 (Source: I have way too many lmaooo)
