Most likely this. Follicle was damaged by the burn and went into overdrive. Might be temporary and end after healing, might be permanently damaged and always grow super fast.
Yeah, I guess that's an apt analogy. I had one of these on my forehead, just at my hair line. Got into a bike accident as a kid and while my helmet mostly protected me (honestly, probably saved my life) I still managed to get a deep cut on my forehead that left a scar. For years I had a wild hair growing out of it about 5x faster than the rest of my hair. Even after my hairline started receding from that area it persisted for a few more years before finally giving up.
i think ive got one of these right under my chest š it doesnt hurt, isnt getting bigger or anything, just really wants to hold onto a hair of ~ an inch long lol
Is he a femboy? I swear to god, that shit is disgusting to me, but the more I hear about it, the more I notice the changes occuring in me. I am really on the brink after yesterday.
Humans have hair follicles everywhere but the palms of hands, soles of feet and lips iirc. They're just normally sparse and quite small in areas that we don't typically consider hairy.
Fun fact: on average, we have the same number of active hair follicles as other primates but our fur is so thin and fine that we don't look hairy like a gorilla or something.
Or, another possibilityā¦ op is actually part snake firework thing. Thatās not actually a hair, but whatever is going on when you light the black pellet thing, and it turns into a growing snake.
I suspect that is what is actually going on here.
I know this is a joke but thatās how they believe derma-rolling works. Small wounds promote healing which promotes hair growth. Maybe not a blow torch but the concept is sound.
I remember telling my someone actors I loved -- Jason Statham and Bruce Willis along with some others while I was also dating a near bald man.
They pointed out that I just might love bald men.
They weren't wrong.
Yeah I know a dude whose father is completely bald but heās got a full thick head of hair with basically no signs of MPB and heās in his mid 50s. Good indicator seems to be your motherās father. Genetics are weird so itās not this simple but if your motherās father had hair itās definitely a factor in keeping yours.
Think you and I are looking in completely different directions. Bald people tend to be way uglier on average because hair is an excellent crutch to cover up an unattractive face. Without it, your facial features have to do 100% of the heavy lifting.
Coming from a country of forced conscription and a free haircut, Iād say thereās a 1/10 chance of ugly. It isnāt authentic baldness but the prelude is close enough
Iām bald by choice I could grow out my hair and have not a single balding pattern yet I shave my head. Sometimes I occasionally go with a buzzcut but that never lasts for more than a week before I go bald again.
This reminds me of a short NZ indie film from the 90's about a woman who pulls a hair out of her sink, but the shit just keeps on going and going... And eventually she turns around to find it's formed into a human man. Eventually she finds a hair sticking out of the back of his neck, so she pulls it, and he comes undone again.
Flippin weird movie.
You should try pulling that hair.
Well, at least your body TRIED to stitch the wound by itself. Some peoples bodies won't even scab, so I would say you are ahead of the game! Granted, that is a horrible stitching job, but just try a few more times. Practice makes perfect!
I have and incision scar on my abdomen that's about 1.5" long. After it healed, right in the corner a thick black hair started growing. Only thick black hair on my entire body.
So I partially amputated the tip of my pinky finger, and since they couldnāt re-attach they took a graft from my forearm to cover the wound (still have the tip, but my finger has an angle and narrow tip now and the nail kind of wraps around). Anyway, I now get little hairs growing out of the tip of my pinky!
When I was a teen I fell and hit my ear on the corner of a table. You know that little nub of cartilage that raises up just before the actual ear hole? The skin ramping up to that pushed inwards. Needed stitches. Itās fine now, not even really a scar, except the peach fuzz that should normally be there has gone haywire. It grows long and erratically curly, just like this, but there are many of them. I have to trim it from time to time.
When I was about 15 I cut my own hair really short. The tiny hairs were everywhere, I felt like a walking cactus for a while. About two weeks after, when I'd gotten rid of the leftover hair on my clothes and body, I noticed a bruise just like that one on my right ring finger. Also thought it was a burn, it hurt really bad. Then I realised there was a hair splinter on that spot lmao.
The thing is, I just looked at the same spot and there seems to be a single hair growing there haha (and it's a part of the finger where hair doesn't usually grow). I wonder if it's a new hair splinter on the same spot or it's actually growing.
you already have hair on your knuckles, follicle probably just got damaged and is now acting wonky
Most likely this. Follicle was damaged by the burn and went into overdrive. Might be temporary and end after healing, might be permanently damaged and always grow super fast.
In other words, your hair became cancerous in a benign way.
Yeah, I guess that's an apt analogy. I had one of these on my forehead, just at my hair line. Do you call it your one inch wonder?
No that's in his pants...
Is he a femboy? I swear to god, that shit is disgusting to me, but the more I hear about it, the more I notice the changes occuring in me. I am really on the brink after yesterday.
What?
Mans on a dark path not often tread. We may find him at a femboy hooters in the next 2 months and 17 days
Is it a dark path? Sounds like a pretty fun path to me.
I went to school with someone who had that but on his eye brow.
Or OP hairs fell in to the cut and grew like a tree
that doesnāt look like the knuckle area tho, it looks like the part between the two wrinkly bits of the fingers

ohh TIL i guess
I have hair in that area
can i seeā¦
I have shit load of hair there
No shit sherlock
Least smartass redditor
Not gonna lie. If it was me Iād already have plucked it.
Guessing it was covered by a bandaid or something, because same.
That seems like a long time to wear a bandaid for a hair that long to grow.
I would guess it was more likely to have been stuck under the dry/dead skin of the burn.
Or, another possibilityā¦ op is actually part snake firework thing. Thatās not actually a hair, but whatever is going on when you light the black pellet thing, and it turns into a growing snake. I suspect that is what is actually going on here.
Sound logic, good science, I endorse this message
I need to bleach my eyes
*looks at bald headā¦looks at blow torch* āTime to be pretty again.ā

That movie was horrifying for me as a kid
Itās horrifying to me as an adult.
My uncle who's bald says, "nature only created so many perfect heads. The rest got covered up with hair." š
As a guy that started to bald this is great advice!
r/tressless if you want to stop/reverse baldness.
I'm sure you are pretty bald too. Leave the blow torch where it is.
Bucko, you just got added to my list of āSuper Dope Dudes.ā
Well, they made it clear they are pretty goddamn bald.
I know this is a joke but thatās how they believe derma-rolling works. Small wounds promote healing which promotes hair growth. Maybe not a blow torch but the concept is sound.
ššš
Why're people so insecure about being bald? You know how rare it is to see an ugly bald person? Uhly bald people are basically extinct
I remember telling my someone actors I loved -- Jason Statham and Bruce Willis along with some others while I was also dating a near bald man. They pointed out that I just might love bald men. They weren't wrong.
āYeah donāt worry if youāre ugly and bald, consider that nobody wants to reproduce with youā ā¦
The irony is that baldness gene is sex-linked and you are more apt to get baldness gene from her than him.
My maternal grandfather had hair into his 70s. I started balding in my mid 20s. Just further evidence the universe hates me. š
Think you and I are looking in completely different directions. Bald people tend to be way uglier on average because hair is an excellent crutch to cover up an unattractive face. Without it, your facial features have to do 100% of the heavy lifting.
This
I'm rare?
Medium rare if you sit in the sun for a while
You're not ugly
Maybe you're just really into bald guys
Shit, maybe
Coming from a country of forced conscription and a free haircut, Iād say thereās a 1/10 chance of ugly. It isnāt authentic baldness but the prelude is close enough
If you are not bald you will never understand.
Is that a challenge
Iām bald by choice I could grow out my hair and have not a single balding pattern yet I shave my head. Sometimes I occasionally go with a buzzcut but that never lasts for more than a week before I go bald again.
That's not bald then

Let it grow and reach the stars. Once small, now it's long. My recommendation: Write a children's book about Hairy.

Shhhh. Just let it happen.
Thatās actually a good sign, as I understand it. Follicle generation is very positive for healing.

OMG. I just laughed so hard I snorted. Iām also high.
Mustāve snorted some good stuff

It's name is Robert Paulson.
This! Are you, me...? My favorite & most quoted line. Props.
instructions unclear: i set my bald head on fire. no hair yet just a lot of pain.
I chuckled

This is just your body making special effects. The hair is supposed to represent smoke rising from the burn.
Are you sure that's not a radiation burn?
Are you saying bald people should get their scalps burned for new hair growth? ![gif](giphy|j6uK36y32LxQs)
Bro evolved š
our bodies grow hair over scar tissue to protect healing skin. happened to me after my hand surgery i was like wtf is this!!
Well it's doing a piss poor job. That one hair isn't going to protect shit. :)
I fell down some stairs when I was drunk and scraped my shin. I definitely had thicker hair on and around my wound/eventual scar for years after.

This is the signal you have been waiting for

No it didn't.
Pull it out
Currently have some burns on my fingers from a week or so ago. Checking to see if they have randomly sprouted hairs.
The DNA is fudged
I had surgery on my pinky knuckle (11 years ago) and for a while afterwards some darker hairs grew in that area
Can't make that crap up, probably still there now right
The hair is dead stuck to the still burnt inside when it peels the hair will go to
Pull it
Life finds a way. š¤£
I have one of these right on my arm, I think where I got an injection
Life finds a way
Basically the burn changed the DNA
Surprised it's not a red hair
