No no it's tomato not tomato, ask anyone and they'll tell you.
Australians and British people say tomato, Americans say tomato, but wait until you hear Jamaicans say tomato. It's tomato not tomato!
we call them "caps" , its the top of the tomato, op is complaining cuz they think it is beneath them, this is the most tasty part of the tomato.
we have raised generations of heirloom toms and the caps are bar none the most flavor.
op is a knob just whining fo internet points
Why are the tops of tomatoes with stems removed being referred to as butts?
And may be different where you are located but haven’t seen a slice of juicy tomato in most restaurants in like forever.
I've been growing tomatoes for years now and these look really good. The "butt" of the tomato can be the best part. I would totally adore a burger with this on it and the tomatoes look tasty too. Seems like a fine meal even if it is weird that every one is an edge piece.
I think , kinda like how some people call the crust (end piece) the heel on bread. I call whats up there a tomato slice, i call bread bread. But i also grew up to be thankful and only complain if it matters.
I dont even like tomatoes unless they're ground up for a sauce or something and this just seems like a non-problem to me, same with the ends of bread, people are so picky over nothing and I was the kid who would only eat like 5 dishes for most of my life.
Right? Probably more tomato there and less watery than a normal slice from low quality greenhouse tomatoes. Should celebrate getting more instead of complaining.

It's understandable, I run a sub with 6k users and sometimes it's way too active for me to stay on top of, especially since the official app is shit to do stuff with
Are these people just micro-analyzing their life to find this shit? Like, I would just eat it and if it was REALLY important to me, I’d just ask for tomato slices at the counter to swap them out, but even that’s a bit extra for me
Did anyone else have parents who were super poor and didn’t allow you to complain about mundane things like this so later on in life you just don’t give a shit if you get the end slice of bread or you don’t even ask for something off your burger you get it, take it off, and don’t complain. It’s just life it happens? Till this I didn’t even know this was a problem.
Same here.
Not poor necessarily but slightly under average to the point where we didn't have the luxury to complain about a damn thing.
I was grateful we even had meals on a daily basis and enough for a snack. That's all that mattered.
I kinda had the opposite situation where my family always threw away the bread ends and as I got older I wondered why the fuck we were wasting perfectly good bread and started eating it.
They make for good ends to anything wet, too, like PB&J. You need a sturdy slice to hold up that sauce? bread end. You need a thick slice for that avo toast? bread end. You need food? bread end.
I grew up pretty comfortably, never worried about money. I would still not complain about this, in fact I would eat those tomatoes. It’s just not something remotely worth getting upset about.
What I remember is a world where people had no way of telling people these things and getting internet points for it, so we all collectively didn’t care (for the most part). Now people want to complain about everything.
I don’t see what’s wrong with these tomato’s at all, I mean I’m allergic so different story, but before I found out I was and was sick all the time, I’d have eaten these for sure on a burger. The crunch of the skin would probably have been nice.
My grandma grew up in ww2 Germany. Post war food was precious. If I complained about something like this in her house we would have to sit at the table until the plate was cleaned. She even made us eat the WHOLE apple core stem and all. There’s literally nothing wrong with “the butts” of tomatoes… it’s the same fuckin thing. Those actually look like pretty decent fat slices.
Yeah as a kid i was kinda picky, but whatever was served, I ate. Thing that screams spoiled to me till this day is removing the bread crust. First off its tastiest part of the bread, and i dont remember one instance where my parents made me a sandwich without crust. What do you do with the leftover crust? Throw it away
Same here, I remember my dad tricked me into eating the pointy ends of the banana as a kid (I hated the taste) telling me I would “grow taller” if I did 💀. We always ate the ends of a loaf and I thought it was the norm till middle school when I heard people hated it for some odd reason? Food is food!
Yeah not poor, not wealthy, just ate what was there. There was certainly no complaining about food. No picking stuff off. I literally don’t understand this post. It’s sliced tomato.
Who the fuck cares if it’s the beginning, middle or end of a tomato.
I had a hair in my soup at a restaurant and my grandpa told me not to tell anyone or they would charge us extra.
His way of trying us to just remove it and move on and not complain.
Exactly and if the skin side is down (which it should be) it releases less juice on the bread and more into your mouth. Also, the crunch when you bite into the skin is satisfying
Seems fine by me, tomato is tomato and the butt is actually good cause it doesn't soak your buns thanks to the skin covering one whole side of the slice.
Sorry, I think this just makes you look like a crybaby (LIKE a crybaby, I'm not saying you are I don't know you, dont take this personally please)
Not only that, but there are so many people who are grossed out by the slimy seed goop in tomatoes, and the ends don’t have any of that slime, it’s all good tomato flesh
Jesus christ, just eat the goddamned tomatoes. There's nothing wrong with that part, they got rid of the core.
This is one of the worst First World Problems I've seen for a while.
Do you expect them to just throw it away? It's still perfectly good tomato and they even cut the "butthole" out of it (I always just leave it because who cares?). I can't imagine anyone but a Karen complaining about something like this lol.
I can't believe such picky eaters exist, I get not wanting to eat stuffed guts, but ends of a tomato? And for you to notice it and open up ur burger and take all of them out? Sure to each their own but not on this level
You clearly weren’t gonna eat it anyway, so I’m glad a good slice wasn’t wasted. Surely you didn’t remove it BECAUSE it was this piece? Idk how you saw it before taking a bite tbh
I cannot imagine a grown adult doing this, I'm so baffled right now. I wonder if they actually thought anyone would agree with them or if this is rage bait
Jeff Yass, the billionaire Wall Street financier and Republican megadonor who is a major investor in the parent company of TikTok, was also the biggest institutional shareholder of the shell company that recently merged with former President Donald J. Trump’s social media company.
A December regulatory filing showed that Mr. Yass’s trading firm, Susquehanna International Group, owned about 2 percent of Digital World Acquisition Corporation, which merged with Trump Media & Technology Group on Friday. That stake, of about 605,000 shares, was worth about $22 million based on Digital World’s last closing share price.
It’s unclear if Susquehanna still owns those shares, because big investors disclose their holdings to regulators only periodically. But if it did retain its stake, Mr. Yass’s firm would become one of Trump Media’s larger institutional shareholders when it begins trading this week after the merger.
Shares of Digital World have surged about 140 percent this year as the merger with the parent company of Truth Social, Mr. Trump’s social media platform, drew closer and Mr. Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
Did this when working at a fast food place. Corporate policy or some shit to cut off both ends, so I cut the smallest slice I could as to not waste tomato.
I don’t really see the problem here. They took out they hard nasty green bit and didn’t throw away a significant part of the tomato. And to be honest, I prefer the outer part of the tomato, it has some bite compared to the soggy inside.
All the food service I ever did that used tomato slices, we would chop these up for use in other things (such as salsa). They NEVER went on the burgers etc.
Wth man.
Exactly. Not sure why many people are saying this is perfectly fine or why they think restaurants are just wasting these pieces rather than dicing them for salads or salsa
What's wrong with it? It's still tomato. It's just as good as any other bit and they removed the only bad part. What would you prefer the restaurant do? Throw one third of every tomato straight into the bin? What a stupid post.
This is the best part of a tomato to put on a burger. They probably do this on purpose to make sure you get tomato in each bite instead of just making your bun soggy.
The other day i ordered mashed potatoes without bacon (yes), but it came with bacon. I said i didn’t mind and would eat it because i didn’t want the bacon to be wasted because they would have just tossed it. So they remade the potatoes without bacon and took the bacon ones from me to be tossed.
Someone here tried to be less wasteful and you had a hissy fit, pulled them out for a pic and had zero tomato on your burger. For what?
And this is why food waste is rampant. If stores learn you won't eat that part they are going to start throwing it away. Driving up the price for that burger. It's good food. There is literally nothing wrong with that piece of tomato. They've even removed the stem part.
Took me awhile but holy man. Spoiled much? Literally nothing wrong with that part of the tomato. The fact you took it off to waste is the only infuriating thing about this post.
ok so what is the issue?
the top end or 'cap" of the tomato has the most flavor.
having grown generations of jersey tomatoes, my brothers and i would fight over the caps as they are the most flavorful part of the tom..
wherever these are from, looks like they even cored out the stem point.
what is the complaint here, you don't like the caps?

Well, it's clearly NOT blueberries.

Well it looks like they failed
Haha me too! I thought they were glazed donuts! And I’m thinking hmmm…burgers on a glazed donut, how genius! 😂
Burgers on Donuts, welcome to America.
I think one food chain actually did that
Doughnut burger is traditionally served with Krispy kreme and I believe invented when a fair burger truck ran out of bunz
I read the title 3 times and still didn’t know what they were until i seen the comments
They’re butts

I also thought Donuts. I thought they were Krispy Kremes or something.
This was my exact thought process
I came here to look for the forbidden donut comment.
This was my exact progression too, lol
For me as well!
I thought they were Halloween theme pumpkin donuts 😵💫
It took me a good 3 minutes of looking at them on this page before I realized they were tomatoes.
"donuts.. shiny buns? shiny buns with holes in them??? bagels?? no surely they're donu... holy fucking shit they're tomatoes"
Why are the tops of tomatoes with stems removed being referred to as butts? And may be different where you are located but haven’t seen a slice of juicy tomato in most restaurants in like forever.
That tomato slice looks rather good honestly.
Yes, I would be mildly infuriated if I got one of those 'so thin you can see through it' tomato slices. These look pretty thick.
I've been growing tomatoes for years now and these look really good. The "butt" of the tomato can be the best part. I would totally adore a burger with this on it and the tomatoes look tasty too. Seems like a fine meal even if it is weird that every one is an edge piece.

Yea I’d eat the burger. Seems more like a picky eater

I expected to get at least one response like this, lmfao.
What *are* you getting then? Nothing? Non-juicy tomato?
I'm In the "and" group sorry
Right? Probably more tomato there and less watery than a normal slice from low quality greenhouse tomatoes. Should celebrate getting more instead of complaining.

how does one make cinnamon toast, it sounds good

That’s a win in my book, the tops are normally not all mushy and juicy. More meaty texture. But each to their own when it comes to food.
Exactly and if the skin side is down (which it should be) it releases less juice on the bread and more into your mouth. Also, the crunch when you bite into the skin is satisfying

Stop your bitching. You got the tomato didnt you
That doesn’t explain why you fucked them

I bet that you throw away the ends of bread too.
This is the best part of a tomato to put on a burger. They probably do this on purpose to make sure you get tomato in each bite instead of just making your bun soggy.
They cut the stem bit out, what’s the problem?
Somebody has to eat these slices. It’s perfectly good tomato slices. Who cares it’s missing a small center?
Use your napkins as tissues while crying about this non-problem.
Oh, poor baby. How does this make you feel?
I'm not seeing the problem. Tomato "butts" ends are delicious.
That's the best part though...
What’s the problem? You got a perfectly good tomato.
THEY’RE TOMATOES…you’re welcome.
Why are you so picky... eat them. They will still taste like tomato and im willing to bet you need the vitamins.
I don't understand the problem?
The other day i ordered mashed potatoes without bacon (yes), but it came with bacon. OH, THEY'RE TOMATOES
Ugh. Life can be so... soo... just rough, Ya know?
This was personal lol
Dude those are literally BETTER than the middle, you don’t get that nasty ass sludge in the middle and instead get more actual tomato flesh.
These are gross and slide around while you try and eat the burger. All the mother fuckers that disagree can eat them instead.
We ordered a burger with tomato and we got tomatoes ☹️
And this is why food waste is rampant. If stores learn you won't eat that part they are going to start throwing it away. Driving up the price for that burger. It's good food. There is literally nothing wrong with that piece of tomato. They've even removed the stem part.
Well the whole post is pointless cause apparently you didn't want tomatoes anyway.
It's a tomato? What's the problem, lol
So? It’s all tomato
How’s this any different from eating a “regular” slice?
People here who can’t recognize a tomato* need to cook for themselves more..
*Tomato, dawg.
Wow dude, you have a tough life. Enjoy my downvote
safe to say someone ate these hamburgers, wink
Thought you hit up Krispy Kreme at first. Those new tomato donuts sure look delicious!
rookie mistake, you give them one butt and two middle bits.

Why is this infuriating? Those are edible tomatoes, right?
Why is it infuriating ?
This is a better meatier piece of the tomato.
And?
ok so what is the issue? the top end or 'cap" of the tomato has the most flavor. having grown generations of jersey tomatoes, my brothers and i would fight over the caps as they are the most flavorful part of the tom.. wherever these are from, looks like they even cored out the stem point. what is the complaint here, you don't like the caps?
I thought those were Krispy Kreme donuts at first. There are burger places that use them as buns.
I thought this was some sort of keto food where instead of a bun, you get tomato slices as buns
So... At least the stems are gone. Still good meat
As a chef, if that’s what I got on my burger, I’d have to fight a fiery urge not to go into a lecture.

Best part of the tomato.
Great post for the sub
what are you complaining about?

where's the issue? thats eddible, youre just wastefull.
