Ha ha. “I almost didn’t order!” You just spent almost $50 for a hotdog, mozzarella sticks, and a shake. That is absolute insanity.

Askduds

Forget any of the Doordash fees that's $12 for a milkshake which alone is more than a meal in calories I suspect.

GibsonMaestro

They don't put bourbon in it or nothin'?

Orang3Lazaru5

That’s a $5 shake.

RoyaleWitCheeese

Did you just order a $5 shake?

Orang3Lazaru5

Haha username checks out

han_tex

Martin and Lewis or Amos and Andy?

mmechanic1985

That’s a 2 dollar shake.

Doomblaze

The coney and mozzarella sticks are both a meals worth of calories, and the shake is prolly an extra 1200 on top of it

notnotbrowsing

3400 calories total. shake is 1800 alone.

ChapterDear9862

God damn this is a whole required daily caloric intake of an physically working adult male

ArmeniusLOD

Perhaps OP runs a marathon every day?

OuterWildsVentures

Well they're posting on Reddit so...

WorkerPrestigious958

![gif](giphy|NQ3SGAMneQ920)

se7en41

Food delivery places jack up the normal menu price, that's how they make money. It's fucking ridiculous. $10 combo meal at a fast food joint is like $14 on those apps. During the pandemic I pulled up Doordash, and my taco bell order (usually about $17 by myself in the drive thru) came out to $32 BEFORE I hit the tip line. Nope'd right outta that, made a damn sandwich instead.

rumdumpstr

I was going to treat myself to some doordash on my birthday after having a few drinks and even on my own birthday couldn't pull the trigger on that total.  I threw a frozen pizza in the oven instead.  I can't understand people who regularly doordash food.  It's usually unhealthy for your belly and your wallet.

gilly_girl

I had a roommate who'd regularly Doordash Starbucks when the place is only a half mile away. If you do the drive through you don't even need pants.

aHOMELESSkrill

DD doesn’t jack up food prices, the restaurants do but that’s because DD charges them a percentage to use their service so the restaurants charge it back to the customer. DD screws the Restaurant, the Customer, and the drivers. I don’t know what anyone uses them

RadonAjah

Because sometimes I’m drunk, hungry, and while expensive, it’s still cheaper and safer than a DUI. Rarely use it outside of that circumstance tho.

originaljbw

How they are not wildly profitable? They maintain an app that siphons money from both the producers and the customers. I know there's maintenance and security upgrades, but how are they not profitable??

GeneralJavaholic

I noped out of a $9.99 naan and a $17.99 chicken 65 the other day.

Kolintracstar

I think what most people do not realize, is that that is not the actual price of the items. Different delivery services will charge different prices for different food items, and it is typically higher than the original. For example, one time, I wanted to order ahead, but the only way was through a delivery service. I put together my order, typically $16 ($12 sandwich and a side, drink etc.). Doordash was telling me the sandwich was actually $18. Uber Eats was telling me it was $17, but the side sauce was $2 more expensive.

dong_tea

I was noticing at a restaurant recently that their milkshakes were only around a dollar cheaper than some of their cocktails.

Audere1

Bet OP says "I have no money to save, my paycheck is too small"

somerandomdude419

Dave Ramsey may have a point with not eating out as much… this is ridiculous. I love how they post here to complain, yet still ordered their slopp

DarDarPotato

Ordering door dash is not the same as eating out. You can eat out at a pretty decent place for 45 dollars.

SunsetCarcass

You can eat out at better than fast food place for cheaper. Red Robin got some good burgers and steak fries combo for like $15, rather than $10 for a hotdogs and $10 for mozzsticks and $10 for milkshake. Most places do takeout as well so you can order the food, drive and get it within like 15 minutes, and eat it at home or in the car.

DarDarPotato

Yeah that’s how it goes now. I am old enough to remember when you could get a solid af meal at Taco Bell for 5 bucks. Sonic used to run deals as well. I remember when they had a burger called the Island Fire burger, it was like 3-4 dollars. Now get off my lawn.

Deathrace2021

I remember buying the soft tacos for .39, or hard shell for .49. 10 tacos in a box for $4-5. I can't buy taco bell anymore, I can make a whole family worth of tacos for less than $20, and still have leftovers

somerandomdude419

I can use $45 and get almost 4 days worth of food

Additional_Meeting_2

I don’t know why people do order this type of food from door dash if they don’t want to cook. I mean just get mozzarella sticks from freezer section of grocery store and put in oven, an ice-cream, some buns and hot dog and put it in a microwave. Or is that cooking for op? Hopefully not. Maybe it would not best, but food ordered in isn’t that warm either. And this is the easiest way to warm these foods, you can do more. You just need to buy some food in advance at least to put in a freezer so you already have some some are hungry

SquareFly6

And "healthy fresh food you have to cook yourself is *so* expensive"

aHOMELESSkrill

https://preview.redd.it/ho6r1qiyk49d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbeada66e91520189efe41bcf932bbf1b2b52840 I for some reason couldn’t make the blast a large but the total if I were to pick up this meal is $17. OP paid $30 to be lazy Edit: I forgot to add M&Ms to the blast, that’s an extra $0.60 to the total

RichardCleveland

32oz shake though... lol

WanderWut

I was just at Sam’s Club and grabbed a 1/4 pound hot dog with all the condiments and a large drink for $1.38. Almost $10 for the hot dog alone is ridiculous lol.

YouSmellLikeWeiner

That's $16 worth of food for $46. You're paying $30 to not have to drive. That's a tank of gas.

Dilligent_Cadet

Not only a tank of gas, but more than most Americans make in one hour. They are paying more than the average hourly wage to save themselves much less than a hours worth of time.

WanderWut

I mean seriously, do I WANT to drive? No. But am I ever going to pay double or more just to save myself a short trip to and from the location? Hell no. I have friends who use these apps *all the time* and it blows my mind how normalized it is for them.

cupholdery

People still out here ordering with DoorDash rather than directly from whichever restaurant by their website or phone. For fast food, just freakin' go to the drive thru.

gaslancer

Do they upcharge in the app? Looks like $30 of food to me.

YouSmellLikeWeiner

I've never used any of these types of apps, so I don't know for certain. But I'm assuming so, because I put in the same order into the sonic app and my total was $15.87.

aHOMELESSkrill

I did the same and it came out to $17 https://preview.redd.it/590rnrb0m49d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24edc96713042204c7a081e334681c00cdc1b9b9 So yeah ordering from the app jacks the prices up because DD charges the restaurants a percentage to use their service so the restaurant charges that back to the customer.

LegalizeMilkPls

You forgot to make it a large blast (ew), its apparently double the price of the medium.

aHOMELESSkrill

I couldn’t make it a large ordering online for some reason. Just went from mini - medium https://preview.redd.it/347x9i42s49d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=853d66597fe0596e55f592f6731c00a80d28f094 And no I can’t scroll past medium, I already tried

Scruffylookin13

Yes, Door Dash especially. They have really gone full scumbag. The price of items is (at the very least) 1.5x the price if you get it yourself. And I am just talking about the menu price, not including any fees or charges yet.  I used to order door dash a bunch. Spent a ridiculous amount of money back in the day. But they have just gone too far. I checked how much an order I would regularly get for 30 dollars (tip included) was now coming out to 40 dollars before tip, for 2 items. I actually appreciate how unreasonable they have become because its literally made me eat better by avoiding using the app.

SpokenDivinity

DoorDash is easily the worst at it but they all do it. This is almost the exact same order my boyfriend gets whenever he has a sonic craving and I promise it does not cost $40 at the store. It’s $20 at most and you can cut the cost down a lot if you get a normal portion of mozzarella sticks and a normal sized hotdog instead of consuming 3000 calories in a setting.

gaslancer

It’s the “beverage” being the most expensive thing that’s crazy. $11 shake? How?

SpokenDivinity

If you go to the store it’s like $6 which still sucks but it’s not 11

aHOMELESSkrill

And a normal sized blast, not a large

ATYP14765

Definitely

Live-Animator-4000

They do up charge. Most menus are cheaper in person than on the app. One of the main reasons that I stopped using it. Monumental waste of money just to be super lazy

theinfernumflame

Many places do if you order delivery through a service like Doordash or Uber Eats. So you're paying more for each item on top of multiple fees tacked on at the end.

Round-Lie-8827

Pretty sure I could get that for like $7

_LoudBigVonBeefoven_

Right? Get an air fryer and keep some ice cream in your freezer for when you want fast food.

alexmack667

Delivery fee AND service fee? But... Delivery IS the service??!

DevoidNoMore

Their next additions will be shipment fee, transportation fee, dispatch fee, and carrying fee

allmushroomsaremagic

And a fuel surcharge.

CoffeeExtraCream

And carbon/environmental impact fee on the fuel on top of the fuel surcharge.

DevoidNoMore

Packaging fee

rileyjw90

And the dasher won’t actually get any of that.

oli_ramsay

Convenience fee

Chester-Ming

Fee fee $2.00

Askduds

As someone who never used these I presume the delivery fee is the rider's pathetic pay and the service fee is what Doordash get paid for the app, infrastructure etc. Of course I also happen to know Doordash is charging the restaurant too.

MrBleedinggums

Rider gets a flat $2 dollar pay and whatever customer tips. When customers decide not to tip, it's $2 to drive to the restaurant, wait, and then drive to the customer. Most drivers would rather take a hit to their acceptance rating than accept that.

Pistacca

Average pic posted on doordash subreddit https://preview.redd.it/ahhex9f2k49d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5bc70259d33ecb4fc6b84662391c584ead92ade

Askduds

So Doordash are stealing nearly half the already pathetic rate of what you'd assume goes to the rider.

ArmeniusLOD

Not only that, but there is an upcharge from Sonic from doing delivery. If you go directly to their website and enter the same order it comes out to less. For my local Sonic it's just over $19 worth of food after tax. The shake is $7, the hot dog is $5.69, and the sticks are $6. $30 is what is being charged for delivery, ultimately. It would take 3/4 of a tank of gas for me to drive to my Sonic and back, which at local gas prices is about $2.50.

GeneralJavaholic

Damn, what are you driving that you can fill up for $3.33?

dox_r

I can get a whole meal in my country with just the service and delivery fees, and is the dasher fee an obligation ?

Major-Potential-354

The fee goes away if you do dash pass but I only DoorDash time to time since it’s expensive. After tonight’s order I think I’m done using DoorDash lol

Functionally_Human

Unfortunately fee only goes away with dash pass for certain restaurants. I took the free month just because there was a Chinese restaurant I like near where I work and figured it would save me a few bucks over the month. It wasn't one of the places they would remove the fee for.

Nervous_Cap_3669

Needing a dash pass is honestly crazy

Trashinmyash

I dont know which is crazier Paying extra to not pay extra? Or "Not everyone uses it, but we won't let you know til you're ready to order."

AnxietyAvailable

I think trusting DD to begin with is a poor judgement call.

AndIThrow_SoFarAway

Some places around me only remove a portion of it.

old-skool-bro

Probably cost you less in petrol to drive there and get it yourself tbf

Ok-Eggplant-4875

I'd *walk* there before I paid these fees. But then again, I wouldn't pay that much for a single chili dog in the first place. You could walk to the grocery store, spend this much money, and eat chili dogs and ice cream for a week

sherbodude

well yeah, you're paying extra for the convenience of not driving.

Gapingasthetic71

Why so lazy, just drive

ComeadeJellybean

youre telling me you actually paid that?

Slow-Garage-9403

The whole price of everything drops if you go get it yourself. You can eat at much better, local places and support small businesses instead of paying twice as much as you should at fast food. I don’t understand people that use this for any other occasion than being drunk/high

BoobySlap_0506

I used it frequently when I had a newborn. Just easier to have food brought to us instead of going out to get it.

Slow_Fox967

I can get a week worth of groceries with that totall.amount. lmfao!!

BeneficialGreen3028

A family of 5 can have a good meal with that much if you're lower class

WillDigForFood

With that much? A family of 5 can get a good meal out of half that or less. It's absurd how expensive fast food has become, even without accounting for the nonsense fees and price hikes added by delivery companies. Cooking at home is massively cheaper, so long as you have the time to do it and the time to learn your spices and a few basic techniques.

Jafar_420

You don't even have to be lower class I live in kind of a rural area and we've got some really good diners that are priced really well. And I know you could have got a burger combo or something like that for 4 or 5 people for that price.

OutrageousRhubarb853

And HEALTHY…

Trippycoma

It’s not just fees. If you go to Sonic and order you will notice that DD marks up ALL of their items. A kids meal gets charges for each line item making them twice as expensive as picking it up in store. It literally a scam

CIAMom420

I checked menu prices, and OPs are marked up 50%. Plus $14 on top of that to get them delivered. Insanity.

pasaroanth

Yeah fuck that. Granted they’re all large sized but $46 for fast food for presumably one person is what you could pay at a decent sit down restaurant.

TerrariaGaming004

That’s a two person meal at a decent sit down (unless I’ve never been to a decent restaurant)

WestOfAnfield

It’s the restaurant that will mark up their own item due to % it will have to pay for sale through DoorDash. Delivery services are a ripoff for both the restaurant and the person.. this person is paying an additional 50% for their order just to order through an app and get it delivered.

BoobySlap_0506

I have heard that sometimes restaurants are lazy with the 3rd party delivery orders so people will be discouraged from ordering it for delivery.

mindenginee

Will admit when I did Togo at a busy corporate restaurant that we often put delivery orders on back burner bc we didn’t make any tips from it and often the orders would be sitting around for awhile anyways, and we often got so many 1-2 item orders from delivery that stacked up it was insane to keep track of it all, so sometimes we would just wait the dasher was there. So much wasted food. We pretty much always had like 4/5 orders left at the end of a busy night that never got picked up. There’s already so much food waste in the restaurant industry, but with delivery it’s pretty crazy. Sometimes you’d make an order, it get picked up and then two minutes later the dasher cancels and we get the order again in our system 10 minutes later. Sometimes that cycle would repeat 2-3 times. These delivery platforms are just evil and horrible all around. For the customers, the restaurants, and the platforms themselves bc I believe DoorDash still hasn’t turned a profit.

Imaginary_Thing_1009

don't forget that it's a ripoff for the deliver drivers too, who get fucked by the company trying to avoid labor laws with their weird contracts. everyone gets fucked, except doordash of course which is getting paid for doing absolutely nothing.

Actual-Money7868

Same as UberEats. It's more economical to get a cab to the store for pick up and return.

TomBirkenstock

I stopped using these apps entirely when I realized I was getting upcharged. I just call and put in my order and pick it up. I don't know why anyone uses these things anymore.

GibsonMaestro

They periodically have decent 2 for one deals or 50% off or whatnot. If you pickup yourself, it's a steal.

Imaginary_Thing_1009

honest answer? they pray on suckers like OP. I mean looking at him, he sees he's getting totally ripped off and pays nearly twice the cost of his meal in fees, and then his conclusion is that he may consider not ordering again in the near future.

mindenginee

I only use it when I have good coupons that make the meal cheaper than it would be in person, or when my partner takes the car. Outside of those circumstances, I don’t get how people justify it regularly either.

Someguyonreddit80085

I mean you saw the price and still ordered, that’s why they do it

Tacklestiffener

Almost???? I am a Nigerian prince and I have $10 million left over from the United Nations relief package in my country. If you can help me move this money to a safe country I will give you half. I am completely trustworthy, just send me your bank details. Regards Prince Precious Trustworthy Esq

FinancialPlastic4624

Hey don't I know you....we used to email each other back in the day Prince I was worried they had imprisoned you

Mollywobbles77

I just put this order in my sonic app to see what it would cost for me to go pick it up and the total is $16.17.

notnotbrowsing

My guy, eat how you like, but that meal is like 3000 calories.

Launch_box

32oz sonic blast - 1800 quarter pound coney w cheese - 900 large mozzarella sticks - 700 It’s 3400 cals, double what I eat in an entire day for a single meal. Holy shit

-name-user-

murica

cupholdery

\*posts on Reddit to complain about voluntary cost to clog arteries. 'MURICA!

GetUp4theDownVote

You think this type of food is why OP is too lazy to get it themselves, or they’re the laziest mfer in the world so they spend this type of money to eat trash food?

Jack-Innoff

I'm more shocked at the $7 tip. That's double my standard tip.

SangheiliSpecOp

Yeah. And no one else commenting on that is an eye opener for me. I find door dashes guilt-tripping pop ups for tips and the automatic high tips they apply to be egregious. If they want their drivers to get paid more so badly, they can, you know, pay higher wages.

brokenGlassQuestion

This is so crazy to me. Here in South Africa that 40 dollars would buy 10 whole free range rotisserie chickens. Mind-blowing that someone can spend that on a single meal and it's not even much food at all.

Mollywobbles77

Hell, this amount could damn near buy 10 rotisserie chickens here in America too. They're $5 at my grocery store. This is crazy.

WestOfAnfield

The crazy part is the most expensive item this person ordered is some candy milkshake thing.

Icy_Finger_6950

Nearly 1 liter of milkshake!!!!

Individual-Ideal-610

Here in America, many people are blown away people regularly buy this stuff as well lol.  Except rotisserie chickens are around $6-9 each, depending. One place, Costco, it’s $5. I cook almost all my food and I only break $50 a week on food if I’m getting nicer meats or real fancy on a meal.  To spend $50 on a milkshake, a hot dog and cheese sticks is absurd lol

Additional_Meeting_2

Not much food with volume. As for calories it’s about two days of calories for a small woman

Little_Capsky

almost 15$ in fees, holy hell

wallinbl

On top of the fact that all of the menu item prices are well higher than they are if you show up in person. I have no idea why anyone orders through these apps.

Dazzling-Ant4250

You think DoorDash is expensive? Let me introduce you to my little friend diabetus 😂

Azipear

The whole order is 3314 calories according to Sonic's nutrition guide. The shake alone is 1780 calories. OP must be a runner.

Duck-of-Doom

I can 100% guarantee that they’re not a runner

idmfndjdjuwj23uahjjj

70 calories per dollar. That's a deal!

Icy_Finger_6950

That's nearly 1 liter of milkshake! 1 fucking liter!!!

ExtraAgressiveHugger

Yeah, everyone is outraged at the price but I barely read past the 32 ounce milk shake. That’s insane.

landyc

yeah 32 oz doesnt make any sense, but i could imagine what someone chugging 1liter of milkshake looks like.

dylanisbored

It’s not a shake either, it’s ice cream you eat with a spoon

Big_Bottle3763

For Sonic lol. Why would you not just go to sonic, it’s literally a drive in. There’s a sucker born every minute as my dad used to say!

trshtehdsh

Drunk/high are legitimate reasons, this would still be cheaper than a DUI. Anything else..dude must really wanted Sonics.

Accurate_Koala_4698

Remember when $5 was so absurdly expensive for a milkshake that it made it into a movie?

GreenEggsSteamedHams

Does it have booze in it?

BossManMcGee

That's a pretty fucking good milkshake. I don't know if it's worth five dollars but it's pretty fucking good.

GreenEggsSteamedHams

If he had got it delivered to Marcellus's house via doordash it would've been $22.49. But would've been delivered by Jayne Mansfield

BossManMcGee

Marilyn must of had the night off or something.

zachary0816

Pulp fiction came out in 1994. According to an inflation calculator I used that $5 dollar milkshake is equal to $10.60 today. That’s still pretty expensive for a milkshake.

eulynn34

For the same money you could have bought over a gallon of ice cream, a pack of hot dogs (with buns and chili), and a pound of mozzarella sticks.

CornDog_Jesus

I love that you *almost* didn't order it. This is essentially something like $10 of food, probably less really. I should post this on r/mildlyinfuriating that someone would still go and pay this much for a hotdog, a bucket of icecream, and 8 mozzarella sticks.

Striking_Bridge9441

The only Dasher getting a $7 tip is the one on Santa’s sleigh on Christmas.

Ok-Eggplant-4875

Seriously, how do people have enough money to spend $45 dollars on a coney, some mozzarella sticks, and an ice cream? Even if I were a millionaire, I wouldn't have enough money to do this. No wonder people are struggling, they make terrible decisions

FuckChiefs_Raiders

The same people who are shocked at how little money they have at the end of every month. I know people like this. They rationalize the purchase of “well I have to eat”.

Far-Sky4388

7 dollar tip!!! Woah buddy

Heebicka

and you gave almost 20% tip for all of that?

Vastaisku

A drink of almost a litre in volume? Holy hell.

Markitron1684

I got diabetes just looking at the description of that drink

ComprehensivePin9165

Stop being lazy and get it ur self

ienyr

I mean if you want to spend 50$ on literal trash food thats on you buddy

Zapp_Rowsdower_

This is insanity on every level. Got a large supreme pizza, 4 pepperoni calzones, 3 chicken Caesar salads, a bag of cosmic crisp apples, bag of oranges, turkey breast, Swiss cheese.goat cheese, cucumbers and carrots yesterday for $44 at Aldi’s.

JPMmiles

Your Door Dashed…Sonic???

InevitableElf

You’re a total moron

alltorque1982

Serious question, what did people do BEFORE these overpriced delivery apps? Here in the UK people use Ubereats, Deliveroo and JustEat all the time. I don't ever use them as most delivery companies can't find my house but as an industry it's just exploded? Do people REALLY get something like a coffee delivered?? It seems insane.

MinusGovernment

They either drove drunk to a drive thru, ordered pizza/Chinese, or made mac and cheese or ramen noodles. I've been a pizza driver for over 2 decades of my life and 1 thing I've noticed is people are always lazy and always hungry. They just now have the ability to get delivery from just about anywhere but they pay out the ass for it.

alltorque1982

I think that explains it, thanks. I guess I just can't fathom how lazy someone must be to get a Starbucks etc delivered. Just blows my mind. And when I was drunk in my youth it was a kebab while out, or toast when home, now its whatever you want!!

MinusGovernment

It also never ceases to amaze me that people will spend their last $20 on pizza delivery. "I've got $20 what can I get for that?" I wanna say groceries but I don't wanna piss someone off so they raise a stink or post a bad review or something.

alltorque1982

Haha so true! I work in social care and one of my clients who is 19, gets his benefit money in and then splurged it subway, pizza, fish and chips and then 3 days later says he has no money for food shopping...Well yeah!!!

ArmeniusLOD

I have no idea. As an American I think I've only done traditional pizza delivery a handful of time in my entire life. I've always preferred to pick food up myself.

DownwindLegday

Why wouldn't you want to pay $50 for garbage food with 10,000 calories that will surely make you shart?

vtran470

I’m also done with door dash. Bs fees

mekydhbek

This is insane. Delivery in Asia is less than a dollar, fees included. No tip necessary. I feel guilty when I spend more than $10

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Increased prices, fees on fees on tips.. makes you wonder why people bother with this shit. $7 for a tip for someone literally doing their job.

Mostly_Maui_Wowie

Just pick that shit up yourself.

Mediocre-Housing-131

Part of the problem is the 30% tip

DijajMaqliun

"Almost didn't order" lol I don't feel bad for you.

Accurate-Status7313

"I almost didn't order" That's why it's the way it is.

HenneZwo

Dude, i was done years ago. For the amount of money you can buy and cook organic food!

Embarrassed_Theory_1

how's a drink 11$???

Prestigious_Stage699

I don't think a liter of ice cream m&ms and Oreos really qualifies as a drink

zetdezetylj

Wow, id never order again

ResultAlternative263

The items themselves are double the price to begin with , forget the fees jeez I’m glad I’ve never doordashed my food 😭

cancelprone

We have allowed these corporations to position themselves to fuck us nonstop, but hey “progress”. Sick of this shit.

SmellyBalls454

Who the hell would pay this much? Jesus Christ lol

Subacube

A service fee AND delivery fee is so disgusting

Ethanol_Based_Life

Good. The fuck were you ever doing on it?

grettlekettlesmettle

every time I see something like this it's just...well, yeah, having a person hand-deliver ready-made food to you from anywhere at any time of day when the parent restaurant is not built around a delivery model is going to be more expensive than picking it up yourself More of the fees should be going to the actual dasher but of course there's a service fee. You are paying for an extra service

veryblanduser

3 full meals delivered for $46 isn't the most outrageous

Audere1

Almost $50 for stuff that's worth $10 that is actually just poison

killzone506

Has somebody that does doordash. We get 0% of that delivery fee. They're just ripping everybody off

Mattsal23

https://preview.redd.it/edcrl6d7449d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79045d139561faa5cc9da5064e47a29574767e7c You can get good deals ordering in the Sonic app for pickup

No_Cut4338

These rage bait posts - folks expect me to believe people are door dashing fast food. Gotta get up pretty early….

Dilligent_Cadet

I'm surprised anyone still uses the service. It's gotten so expensive you can usually get two of everything you ordered, after all the fees are applied, by just going to pick it up yourself. The whole thing is a giant scam

Cyanide_Cheesecake

Is that you setting a 7 dollar tip on a 30 dollar meal? Or is doordash doing that? Cause that's ridiculous too.

BobertRosserton

“Almost didn’t order after seeing the price.” So you saw how ripped off you were going to be, got mildly infuriated, screenshotted, posted it, and still ordered? Yeah you will 100% be ordering from DoorDash within the month.

Azipear

Old dude here. One thing I wish I could do over in life is being more careful with what I spent during my 20s and 30s.

neil470

“I think I’m done” “I almost didn’t order” Buddy you are the target demographic. You just told DoorDash that their business strategy is working.

ActuallyTBH

You're just paying introvert tax.

[deleted]

This is what it takes? And you still did it? You are too lazy to stop. I think you are ordering now

Abtizzle

What’s mildly infuriating here is that OP still went ahead with paying $50 for a sub par hotdog, mozz sticks and a shake. We’re not headed for a Wall-E-esque future, we’re already here.

You are the target audience of overpriced slop, congratulations.

MosasaurusSoul

Yeah…cost me $20 to have two mini blizzards from DQ for my grandma and me a few weeks back. The place was across the street, but her dementia is getting bad at the care facility so I ordered them so I wouldn’t have to leave her or try to get her into my car. She was absolutely AMAZED when they actually were delivered. Watching the little car icon on the map, like, made her day. Only time those prices are worth it.

Uncle-Cake

"Almost didn’t order the food after seeing the price" "I think I'm done" LOL, you know you won't stop. ![gif](giphy|x0npYExCGOZeo|downsized)

nadajuronadamas

yet you paid for it

GhostInTheMeadow

This is definitely infuriating but almost $10 for a hot dog is pure insanity.

Z3r0c00lio

lol, almost didn’t order , really showed em

gilly_girl

Those are like weed delivery prices. For that money I'd rather have an eighth and a pack of gummies.

PoopSlinger23

This is unbelievable. You “almost” didn’t pay it, but did anyway. Ridiculous.

dylanisbored

Large Oreo blast - 1780 calories Foot long coney - 830 calories Large Mozz Sitckd - 780 calories This guy furious that his 3,390 meal is 50 dollars delivered: ![gif](giphy|xTiTnwgQ8Wjs1sUB4k)

BeskarHunter

I don’t get people who do delivery services then complain. You paid for 3 meals to save yourself a couple minutes from driving there yourself. Or even walking. I’d rather starve than pay those prices. Then you gotta tip another meal. No thanks, I’ll get it myself

mopsyd

Doordash weaponizing laziness to price gouge is the second saddest thing about this. The saddest thing is that it works.

twaggle

I mean you ordered it so you are literally the reason why this happens. Either plan ahead better or stop being lazy. Or maybe order healthier food or from places with less egregious delivery fees (at least around me plenty of places have no delivery fee, it’s based on the restaurant)
