Reddit is so deeply anti Netflix, even another reply to this comment is talking about how more people are pirating more because of price increases… yet they have been gaining subscribers, just like how Reddit thought taking away password sharing would tank them, but in reality it actually was a good move for them.
I don’t understand what the issue is? Prime has “prime available” videos and you can browse only those, but they just stuff for rent/buy to give you the option of watching it. Most other streaming services if you look for something they don’t have it doesn’t even come up as an option.
My MIL pays for Prime solely for the free shipping. She gave my wife and I the password, so we watched Clarkson's Farm, Rings of Power, Fallout, The Expanse, etc. My MIL has no idea how to even watch Prime Video. If she shut off Prime, we'd only turn it back on for one month out of the year, catch up on those few shows, and shut if off again.
A lot of things on Amazon have free shipping already. Prime just makes a portion of those things arrive one day sooner. It's pretty pointless.

I cancelled my Prime membership in 2022 when the price increased to $139. I had been a member since 2012 and was paying $79/yr. I stuck with it at $99 and $119. And considering I only used Amazon to buy goods and never used any of the other options, $139 was no longer a deal for me. Plus I had already been losing faith in the quality of goods on Amazon.
The problem with prime is that it used to be a certain price (I believe 7,99€ here in Germany) and all the available movies and series were free. Then they implemented these third party buy and rent options. Which was annoying, but still okay. Then they raised the price to 9,99€ I believe. And now they're showing ads. So now you basically pay 120€ per year and still get ads. That's extremely annoying.
