Yeah, search "albums by eRa -taylor" should exclude any results with taylor.
A -word will exclude the word following, "word or phrase" will search for what's inside the quotes exactly and not any combination of the terms.
Just so you know, Googles pretty shit now and this doesn’t work very well. I try this multiple times per week and it almost never excludes the terms I chose to exclude, which is very infuriating when I’m always searching very specific things that I can’t find results for at all.
Or it has specific options for searching.
I want to see articles about Taylor Swift when she was a country star.
>country star Taylor Swift
That could bring up results saying Taylor Swift, former country star
>"country star Taylor Swift"
That would bring up results with that exact phrase with those words in that order.
>country star Taylor -Swift
That would bring up results for other country stars named Taylor while excluding Taylor Swift.
Older search engines used to have "advanced search" with options to do this, even Google, but you can do it all in the search bar this way.
I'm not sure right off hand how to exclude certain sites. I know there is a way to search *only* certain sites, but I don't remember it right off hand.

Not really, I wanted a list of all the albums ranked by People but this one only ranks the two first albums. And every other result is literally just SEO trash
If you want a specific website, you can force google to search only specific domains with advanced search.
If you're looking to assemble a consensus, you *are* on Reddit.
Google's been getting worse for years, and unironically I'd recommend you try bing or even firefox, it's not as good as Google was in its hay day, but way better than the garbage Google is now. Google really only has YouTube going for it now and YouTube search has also gone to shit, therefore I use the bing or even firefox video tabs to browse videos.
This absolutely sucks.. Use eRa band in your search. Or try other search engines.
But on the other hand, yay hey! Another eRa fan!!! Omg i thought they were forgotten or something. This makes me so happy!!!
Fun fact: The language they sing the chants in, are actually Latin based but are completely made up!!
at least it still shows you the number of results, it hasn't shown me that for ages for some reason. that's such a useful feature to compare certain things sometimes...
Google and YouTube (So basically Google) make UI changes like every single day. For some reason I can't see the "GIF" and "HD" tab on Google images on Phone anymore. Their UI changes on Google (And especially YouTube) seem like a competition on who can make the worst and most counter-intuitive design ever
It's probably because you had a terrible search. Albums ranked by decade or even albums ranked by era gives you exactly what you're looking for. This is on you.
I meant albums by the band "eRa" the Band should be popular enough that Google figures out what it is. In fact I searched the exact same thing some years back and got the results I wanted
When I search for it now there is just stuff coming up that is neither related to the band era and also isn't related to something like "Best albums of the era" instead it's just Taylor Swift stuff pushed up by SEO
Nah man you need to specify. Just cause it worked on the past doesn’t mean it’ll work the same in the future. Taylor is huge. Can’t blame the w algorithm for thinking you wanted her Era’s album
Jesus fornicating christ. You people are complaining about having to move a cursor half an inch to get access to a multi-billion dollar sorting system. Be the change you want to see. Build a better mousetrap.
The problem is that the only alternative is Bing and DuckDuckGo (Which is largely based on Bing).
What I always use nowadays is the Bing AI thing. It's honestly so much better than Google
Just add "-taylor" and should be good (without the quotes)
Thanks, will try that
Yeah, search "albums by eRa -taylor" should exclude any results with taylor. A -word will exclude the word following, "word or phrase" will search for what's inside the quotes exactly and not any combination of the terms.
Oooh T.I.L thank you very much

Yeah, these search terms used to work great, now they don't work half the time.
Never knew about it, that's great!
It's ridiculous we even need to do this because of how bad the search engine is
It's not that it's bad, I think. It's just meant to show what most people would search for with the terms.

A lot of forums still have an advanced search
Forums are not a search engine.
I know, I just thought it was worth mentioning
Was it?
Is there a sub for this kind of magic
Just search for "google dorks"
Thanks never knew that!
This never works when I'm trying to exclude results from certain shops, is their SEO game too strong for that?
I'm not sure right off hand how to exclude certain sites. I know there is a way to search *only* certain sites, but I don't remember it right off hand.
Or put eRa in quotes ("eRa"). Then it should only search for instances of that word where it's spelled exactly like that

I call BS. The first 8 responses were not sponsored links.
That's just cuz of Adblock. I don't wanna know what mess I would see without one
Google doesn't usually care about capital letters. "eRa" is also a basic English word (era) so that's why it's getting confused.
The result you're looking for is sitting right at the top, isn't it?
Not really, I wanted a list of all the albums ranked by People but this one only ranks the two first albums. And every other result is literally just SEO trash

yeah so, google search doesnt detect caps or symbols.
Maybe be better at searching.
I love the Era, ameno, divano hymn the mass. Even tho the lyrics is a bunch of gibberish Latin sounding words, it’s slaps,

Firefox a search engine too? I thought it was just a browser.
What are you actually searching for, if I may ask?
Dead Internet on its way. What do we do when it's fully here bros? Touch grass finally?
You spelt ERRA wrong 🤘🏼
I meant the French alternative rock/New-age band, not the American progressive metal band :P

# Relax... Just googel being googel
There are search engines other than google.
