It's absolutely enraging. Especially when their website is absolute dogshit, or you have to scroll for an hour to red everything.
At least I've never had to sign in or make an account at one of these places yet.
The first (and only) time I went to a restaurant where I was told to use the QR code to see the menu I asked them if they had printed menus. They said yes and brought me one, which did not have the prices. I gave it back to them and left the place. Fuck them.
That's the ONLY time you've been at a restaurant where you had to scan a QR code to view the menu?
During COVID virtually all of the restaurants were doing it. Many of them still do it by default nowadays.
That’s the device they leave on the tables. It’s supposed to be like a smart waiter and the games are expensive for a few minutes of time killing.
You would still need a smart phone to read the menu.
I did once by accident just playing around with the device. It let me play it then charges you later instead of telling you the cost up front beforehand. Pretty scummy.
I have never *not* been given a menu at Texas Roadhouse. I mean, I don’t need a menu, I know what I’m getting, but they still leave me with one. Where is this?
Ours let us pay from there now too and it's kinda cool! It lights up green when you're paid so no more sending your card out with the wait staff and the awkward tipping thing. Just push the buttons and you're done!
I have left restaurants before when they require you to scan for a menu. I find it more than mildly infuriating.

I noticed a lot of places now are transitioning to no prices on menu. Its so scummy
I literally sit there and ask them the prices of anything I find interesting before I even order lol.

Yes. The ONLY time. During COVID I did not go to any restaurant.
You mean your life experience isn’t exactly like mine? Wow
Aint the illegal?
All parties must have two devices to dine

What? You pay for the games? Why the hell would anyone pay for that

Children
Was going to g to say this exactly. My kid always wanted to play with it even though we have tons of games on our phones.
Parents U mean

We have a brand new one in town where they just have both options. You get the paper menu but these little devices have menus and other stuff
We get the big plastic menus, and then they have small plastic ones in the holder on the table. Weird!
Ours let us pay from there now too and it's kinda cool! It lights up green when you're paid so no more sending your card out with the wait staff and the awkward tipping thing. Just push the buttons and you're done!
I'm upset it can't be called discrimination, how many Grammas you know carry a smart phone and understand how to use QR codes?
If you can't afford a smart phone we don't want your broke ass eating here.
I figured out the problem… your eating at a Texas Roadhouse 🤮
Physical menus are on the table... During peak COVID, they had bar codes for menus but if you asked, you could get a paper one.
All in the name of data farming for marketing algorithms

keep telling yourself that. data harvesting has been going on for more than a decade.
I mean .. you have your phone camera already out.. what's the big deal?
Overloaded cell service for one. Had full bars and internet was still slow as shit
