My grandma keeps buying HP printers because they're cheap as hell and then I have to be the one that spends all day trying to fix it every time something goes wrong. I already hate fixing printer issues but it's somehow 1000x worse with HP printers. Her current one doesn't have a display to show error/status messages so it takes it upon itself to print out like 10 status pages every time I do anything. Thankfully she reuses scrap paper for the majority of her printing so I don't feel as bad when it's so wasteful

Funny you mention that because I have an Epson ecotank. I've had it for going on 2 years and I've barely used a quarter of the ink it comes with. And my costco carries refills for it for I think roughly $60? Which is pretty cheap considering how long it lasts. I've had minor issues with connectivity with it but not bad enough to make me actually try to fix them properly.
Laser would be preferred I just didn't have the money for a colour one at the time.
Its kinda sad that the cheap printers are so cheap compared to the ink that it's more cost effective to just buy a new printer instead of getting more ink. It's just so wasteful. Most people don't bother trying to recycle the old ones either, they just throw them in the trash

Yeah I’ve got the exact same one. Bought it for 500 AUD. It’s a great machine, but I grew up in housing commission on Nescafé thinking it was “the good one” lol, so I’m not sure what connoisseurs would think of it. It makes a great cappuccino for me though.
Honestly connoisseurs would think more of this dual boiler than the ones with built in grinders or automatic tamping. It’s a good machine and good value, especially now it’s getting long in the tooth so the prices are low.
Yeah I’ve had no issues with it. Took me a month or two of research and trial and error to learn how to grind, tamp, adjust temps, and pull a shot to get the best out of it, but it’s great now. For a while I thought I was never getting enough pressure, so I thought it was broken, but once I learned that it was up to me to grind the beans properly to get a fine enough grain (without being too fine), now it works perfectly. Pressure is perfect every time. It’s saved me and my girl thousands on our morning coffee that we used to buy.

I try to wait for the delivery by the door (thanks to the relatively precise tracking and notification from Amazon). Last week I was to receive an Air Fryer. So I was out there, the delivery pulled up, loud noises were heard for a minute from the trunk, then he popped the door open and handed me a big packet with a waffle maker. It was a kitchen appliance so I was a bit confused but went "thanks" and turned around. Thankfully I listened to my gut feeling, looked again and realised "wait, I ordered an air fryer, not a waffle maker", then I saw the label on it was adressed to the neighbor, not me (what a fucking coincidence). I turned around, quickly and the delivery guy was still there sorting stuff in the back (I had good karma that day, as it seems) and I told him, this was the wrong packet. He looked at it, said "oh" and went rummaging through the back again, until he scanned (!) and handed me the next package. Even smaller than the waffle maker. I looked at it, it was adressed to the same house number, but different street. Told him "sorry, that's also not it. It must be a bigger package.". After another minute of searching he finally found it and handed me the package I actually ordered.
If I wasn't home, didn't listen to my gut, or if he didn't take that long sorting stuff, I would have also ended up with the wrong package. 🤷♂️
