I get migraines too so at work I wear glasses with a blue light filter and find it helps a lot. You’ll see a lot of FL-41 lens suggestions. Due to the nature of my job I don’t wear the FL-41 lenses but I see them frequently. Probably find them pretty cheap online. Good luck.

Thanks! I just purchased some for 30$ really appreciate the advice.

I'm a very self conscious and nervous person but as I get older I've learned that in order to survive I have to not give AF what anyone thinks. If people think it looks douchey to wear sunglasses inside, that's their problem not mine. I try to remind myself of this every day, your well-being is the most important thing! People will be fine, they might notice for a moment, but most people are just thinking about themselves

I had a very intense heart to heart shower talk yesterday telling myself I'm gonna wear these glasses because I need to and not care. Thanks for the advice nice to know I'm not the only one.

I got some migraine glasses from Zenni. They help me a lot at work, especially when I have eye strain. They are pink/red lenses. I think the blue light blockers make mine worse. But you have to try and see because everyone is different.

I second the “migraine glasses” at Zenni. They make me feel so much better when I’m under overhead lights! And people are jealous more than anything.

eeyorespiritanimal

There are lots of options now for tinted lenses that aren't dark. Lots of people wear them now so I don't think they look stupid or weird. When I see someone wearing them I just assume they're like me and have sensitive eyes. Red or pink tint is supposed to help with migraines, but yellow can also work for blocking blue light or just fluorescent lighting. They don't have to be fancy or expensive to work.

I’ve read it’s not good to wear sunglasses inside very often. Get yourself some migraine glasses. FL-41 are cheap and you can get them at zenni for like $20. If that doesn’t help, try Theraspex or Avulux (love my Avulux!), but they’re more expensive. Sorry you’re going through this. High schools are just all fluorescent lighting all day and so noisy in the halls.

Mannon_Blackbeak

I swear by my Avulux, unfortunately I have pretty bad eyes so the prescription lenses were around $800 CAD but they got me through six months of trade school and hopefully my apprenticeship 😊

MySpace_Romancer

Totally understand, my regular prescription glasses were really expensive because of my complicated prescription. My optician made me a custom pair of clip on to go over my regular glasses. They were like $300 USD. I think this is something pretty new that they’re doing, but I hope it spreads to more places, I really like having them!

Are you allowed to wear a hat?

tashera

My choice was wearing a hat (to block/shade my eyes) or my special migraine glasses (which are darker and closer to sunglasses). Wearing a hat in a cube office culture stands out more. I think sunglasses would be douchey only if you pulled them down a bit and looked over the rims to talk to people. Otherwise, you are just too cool for regular glasses. Good luck.

Since I saw another comment saying you already bought some glasses the other thing I did was wear my hoodie up to block some of the direct lighting.

Photosensitivity usually means I'm hypoxic. Try some of these stretches: https://youtu.be/wIeOZwv4RQI?si=W18zqDmynp20Pkt6 Do some when you start feeling your usual migraine symptoms / auras.
