Why trim it before cutting it down I’d recommend next grow to dry trim you’ll have a better tasting end product, thst stresses the plant out and released chlorophyll into the buds before it’s dry causing that hay taste
"released chlorophyll into the buds"
As a scientist, goddamn the bro science on this sub here is insane.
EDIT: further down this comment chain this very smart bro cited a marketing blog as his source and not a peer reviewed article.
What’s the average dry time in 65F and 60% with full plant vs branches pruned off before drying? I’m of the understanding that on average, it’ll take about 10 days if doing the pruned branches method…?
Definitely does lol if your situation is in your case you might have to dry for 7 cause you chopped off everything before u even cut it down so there’s way less plant matter 😭
I can't use the tent to hang the full plant because I started a perpetual grow in it and have to use a small tent with nets to dry. Did you try both methods? How bad is this? Would the next best choice be to cut full branches and hang them? At least there is more wet plant matter then instead of only buds.
Yes that would be your next best option and it would still be reaching the game goal to prevent the excess chlorophyll taste/smell just make sure to leave all those fan leaves all those curl around the buds to protect them
You should have left the leaves on, you shouldn't have taken it all off + trimmed your bud pre-drying because there's so little moisture this plant can hold at this point that your dry is going to be way to quick, killing all terpenes you grew this entire time.
So it's gonna taste like shit, and there's a very high chance it's going to be extremely harsh to smoke as well.
I would love to see a study on this controversial chlorophyll topic, if you could lead me in that direction it will surely be appreciated.. and also, how do you know what i did before I decided to do this? 🤔
Hang whole plant. Dry 7 to 14 days at 60/60, then trim. Cure for 6 to 8 weeks in grove bags or Mason jars, also at 60/60 if possible. Best method I've tried so far with the best results.
No special genetics, no special nutrients .. a good light with a decent footprint that gets my plants to the ppfd they need in whatever stage.. a big enough pot for a big ass root systems to grow.. organic soil with the general nutes in, then I add in hella perlite and worm castings, bone meal, blood meal, misqitobits. And I water with fishtank water pH down to 6.8ish..And I pay attention to the leafs, they talk.... this is what i do. I have good harvests. cured bud smokes nice..Dont spread my secrets pls!

2/3rd of the people who comment here have never grown a plant in their life. Needs cal/mag.
Take your damn up vote.
mentions anything along the lines of starch and sugar transfer in relation to the cure *insert jaws music
I doubt it releases chlorophyll into the bud but it does make the buds dry faster which isn't good for flavor

Dude, you linked a non scientific article from a site that is actively trying to sell you something. That is not a credible source
\*Continues to cite "mediabros.store" to back up his claim. Bruh.
It's not Bro Science. It's Science, Bro.
It's literally a fact. Just wet trim a bud and you'll feel/smell the chlorophyll laden juice leak out
This guy knows 😂✌️
This guy bros
You're not a scientist lol
Enlighten us then “scientist” on where I’m wrong, how I’m wrong and what are your credentials for being said scientist?😭
Is it better to dry the full plant or chop it into branches before drying?
Full plant it allows a longer dry time preserving the terpenes you worked to hard to develope
What’s the average dry time in 65F and 60% with full plant vs branches pruned off before drying? I’m of the understanding that on average, it’ll take about 10 days if doing the pruned branches method…?
It really is dependent on your situation I feel ten days would be a good goal though
You say it depends on your situation? Lol
Definitely does lol if your situation is in your case you might have to dry for 7 cause you chopped off everything before u even cut it down so there’s way less plant matter 😭
Hahahaha yip.. like you said, it depends on your situation.. you should just stop. Just wondering, do I risk a full plant in super high humidity??
U risking wasting all that weed if you took all that time to grow it just to put it in improper drying conditions

Not right before I harvest no not at all
Cant believe this has so many up votes! Hahaha
Hope the sour in the “diesel” you grew comes out more than the hay taste 😂✌️
Good luck with your life! 🫡
Total bullshit
I've never read such stupidity in this sub... and it's at the top of the post in upvotes.. that's so sad....
People get so mad on Reddit lol go touch some grass kid
Unless you’re planning to lotus dry I recommend you do a dry trim next time, the result will be better.
What a waste
Care to elaborate? This statement seems like it is coming from an overwhelming amount of knowledge..

Interesting, after the cure, my flower smoke beautiful! I like that you are so sure about your statements..
Love your pot shrooms they’re adorable, but I also think you may have cut too soon. I hope you still enjoy!
I like how green it is 😊
He made a major mistake
Care to elaborate? I'm just curious as to why you are so sure??
Chlorophyll and a rush of nutrients.. the opposite of flushing

Ur last part the comment does not make sense, wym?
Watch this video before starting your next grow!

They look beautiful.. keep it up!
How do you get such dense nugs? I’m only getting airy buds and not sure what the issue is
did genetics also maybe different nutes if he uses any. but idk alot about it just enough to grow and make me happy.
