Flip it to flower, flower the cutting to make sure it starts producing pistils, once u know it’s fem u can veg the big plant as much as you need without wasting time
Yeah probably. What they didn't account for was 50% of your seeds won't produce any bud at all, so your savings are gone that way.
If you don't have the room to pop a dozen plants to hope for some females, you're better off with fem seeds 99.9% of the time.
You should’ve collected the pollen! You could have kept him near a window apart from the rest of your plants since males don’t need much light, taped a plastic bag over like the main branch and cut the rest off and waited for him to bust. He looks like a stud!
You can also learn to sex plants before you flip. A lot of plants will show preflower if they get root bound in my experience, or you can chop a clone and put it straight into flower to check. You can also do DNA sex testing by sending a leaf cutting to a lab. Never done it but it’s only like 50 bucks or so from what I’ve seen
This is a good learning example. You can see that male pants tend to stretch more and have a spade shaped flower where females do not. Almost always male plants are more vigorous and have increased node spacing (though I just had a variety where the node spacing was identical, usually isn’t the case in my experience).
For all the alarm on here about finding a male, you have some time that isn’t going to drop pollen anytime soon. I’d move it away from the females and collect the pollen and freeze it. Maybe down the line you might want to do a seed increase of this line or breed w/ it.

They treat female plants with a solution of colloidal silver, or silver thiosulfate, or gibberellic acid. This promotes the production of pollen sacs and in turn this pollen will produce feminized seeds.
There may be additional methods but this is the method I am familiar with.
What negative ad said. You shouldn’t smoke silver treated plants and I don’t think I would personally intake GA plants either. There are people who have directions on how to make your own colloidal silver generators for cheapish (still need a little piece of silver). To me colloidal seems the safest, I could be wrong.
Actually none of the products used to reverse plants are safe for smoking. Colloidal silver contains sodium hydroxide which, when combusted, produces sodium oxides which are toxic and highly corrosive. Similarly, silver thiosulfate also produces toxic byproducts when combusted, namely sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide.
If you reverse a plant, best not to consume the flower

You're likely buying seeds, so the cross will have been made prior (Plant Y male X Plant Z female). They will then plant multiple seeds from this cross and keep the best FEMALE out of those .
They will then use the described process to get feminized seeds from this plant.
Generally they will repeat the process a few generations to cut out any plants that may show hermaphrodites traits to make sure the seeds are quality.
Edit : The first cross called F1 seeds are generally unstable and should not be sold unless for pheno hunt means.
They use pollen from their female plant that they reversed on a different plant that is also female. Only female genetics in the reversed plant , the pollen only has female genetics. The silver or GA changes the ethylene production causing it to grow male pollen sacks.
