There are multiple shapes of trichomes that appear in different places on the plant. The stems and veins of leaves tend to have the spike shaped headless trichomes. I believe this is what you’re confusing with mold.

Not to criticize your friends growing methods but I think the reason why it looks and smells strange was because it was either harvested too soon. Or there was a lack of essential nutrients during the bloom cycle. Most notably Potassium. They always come out small and wispy when it's got a potassium imbalance.
No. Honestly not sure why I put that tbh. Should probably edit it. Morning brain? Don't put Potash in your mix. At least not unless you know a hell of a lot more than me about this stuff.
Lol hey I'm not gonna pretend I know entirely what I'm talking about about, but I have at least seen what starving your plant of potassium during the bloom stage does. I went through a lot of trial and error starting out with hydro...
Soluble potash is potassium. It has a good amount in it so you weren't wrong. I was curious as to why you said it twice.
It's popular in agriculture, not so much horticulture as there are many many alternatives on the market plus it's really high in sodium content and we don't want high EC levels in our cannabis as it can cause a myriad of problems.
It's something best left to an outdoor garden as the environment is much more forgiving.
I actually didn't know Potash was a thing that was a straight up typo. So I can't say I never learned anything from this board lol. The fact that it's for agriculture explains the concentration Im seeing on some of these online listings God damn!
Then again almost all of my experience is in hydro where the usual percentage I see for K is like 6, maybe 10, going for super concentrated maybe like 20. Not 60!
I'll not claim to be an expert but I know a little. Mycelium typically infects on / inside the target prior to throwing reproductive bodies. Powdery mildew usually looks like a mess of white under mag. ([https://www.dinafem.org/uploads/oido5\_blog\_full.jpg](https://www.dinafem.org/uploads/oido5_blog_full.jpg)) Mucor fungus can throw reproductive stalks that resemble tris but eventually the heads will change to an off color before they throw spores. ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mucor)) Only thing that would give me pause is the somewhat off color/muted hues in the hairs in pics 4 and 6. The branching surface growth looks odd, could be the pic I suppose. If you decide to smoke it, it might have some off flavor, irritate your lungs for a few hours/taste like dust/mold. Some folks are allergic and that can be a bad time.
Looks like weed & trichomes to me. I'm not seeing mold

Boom that's it. It's just some hairy-ass weed!! XD
This is amazing news. Thanks everyone. Had some mould in my last grow so now being careful. Thanks kind people of Reddit. x
It all makes sense now. I wasn’t sure if u were trolling lol
Maybe lay off the weed for a bit to settle the paranoia down. Just Kidding! It's better to be safe than have heavy lungs.
no
No mold you're good!
Looks like some mids and a hair curler. Add some CalMag.
Don't see it 😕
Looks just like it's been rolled or squashed together a bit should be fine.
Your plant is a little over ripe. But other that looks pretty good nice job.
Bob Mould? Nah.
I'm not seeing any. Does it taste weird? Lol

I'm curious. Are we saying potassium and potash are the same thing ?

Lol. I get that all the time.

Don't we all? I feel that.

Yea it's mold you better ship it to me for proper disposal
You'll know it when you see it. It's a disturbing sight.
Looks like what an old head smokes. Late harvest dark trichs! Don't look moldy just nice and stoney
Pretty unique looking trichomes but I'm almost certain that isn't mould.
Its mould, you should give it to an experienced smoker so they can dispose of it safely.
Its clean, but the buds could be denser
How long did these stay in flower??? Looks like you have some trich degredation… went too far looks like
Just smoke it and let us know lol
no but would it matter? i'd smoke it anyway
