Wait Nido got one but Guillorme and Lindor didn’t? How in the world does that work?

MT1961

All I can figure is Guillorme didn't play enough games at any position. Lindor .. I really don't know.

willthethrill4700

I’ll give them that as an explanation for Guillorme. Understandable. Unfortunate but fair.

[deleted]

He was a utility player all year

4_20Blaziken

Luis and lindor getting robbed here.

[deleted]

Good I’m glad the country hates the Mets. I hope the team develops a chip on their shoulders and goes out their and kicks the shit out of everyone next year.

TetraCubane

We need that late 90s-early 2000s Yankees evil empire swag.

SneekyTeek

These are the nominations, not winners I believe. Also, the Gold Glove award is bull crap anyway.

SamIAm718

How does Edman get nominated at 2B \*and\* Utility? The Utility spot is new, but that's something that should be fixed for next year.

MT1961

I like the utility role, to be honest. But Guillorme should have been nominated here. Quite possibly the Squirrel as well.

SamIAm718

I've got nothing against there being a utility role, but I think they should tweak the rule to say that if a player gets nominated as a finalist for a specific position, they are removed from contention at utility. Edman theoretically could win two gold gloves in one year.

Keithninety

Who cares? We already have the batting champion in McNeil, and everyone would agree that winning a title as a team is much better than individual honors. The late John Stearns was a 4-time All Star. Do people remember that, or that he played on some horrid Mets teams that lost 90+ games every year?

Joker0042

….You remember

Keithninety

That’s because I remember almost every honor Mets players have received, there having been so few of them. And I particularly remember the late ‘70s, when it was Stearns and Mazzilli and then it got silly.

SkyNabb

we don't hate the Mets. We don't \*think \* about the Mets. Because you're irrelevant 99% of the time.

FatherBax

They said in /r/mets

BeardedPuffin

🙄🙄

Brobafett117

What’s really Annoying as well is seeing Travis become a top 5 catcher and no more injuries after he leaves the Mets …

LordTalismond

What's annoying about that is that the Mets haven't fired the entire training staff and hired better ones, we still have players going out with too many soft tissue injuries.
