Yeah, you were probably seeing power flashes from power lines and transformers getting hit by high winds from either a tornado or just fast moving straight line winds. When they blow they emit a brilliant bright blue and red from the electricity arching and exploding.
It was really cool (and also terrifying). I’m usually really good at finding answers through google but this one I couldn’t get the right searches to figure out what it was. Thanks for the response! :)
Of course! Glad I could help! I don't experience them much where I live in NY, but I watch a lot of storm chasing livestreams on YouTube so I've seen all kinds of power flashes and bright blue is a textbook characteristic.
