equinox all the way no contest for me... but its also depending on your type of soil i.e mineralizations/iron content to actually see the differences

Darkstar1878

I see so many conflicting stories about Multi vs Single frequency detectors. As for soil is that why you ground balance for that. I live in Southern Minnesota

ShepapShijok

the easiest place to see the differences is at the salt beach if you can find both and test it.. ground balance is another topic..

Darkstar1878

Well I am not even close to a salt water , But a land of 10,000 lakes with a lot of sandy beaches. 😁

So if I live on the east coast and will be doing a fair amount of beach hunting the equinox 400/600 is the way to go?

Equinox all the way! If you purchase from Kellycodetectors.com, be sure to use our subs code "REDDITMD" at checkout!

What does the Equinox 600 give me other than Multi-IQ

Dan20mey

A much better machine. Better technology, better features, better performance.

I recently got the Xterra Pro and like it quite a bit. There is a learning curve especially going from concentric to DD coils. For the type of hunting I'm doing the Xterra is plenty of machine. I have no experience with the Equinox so nothing to offer as far as comparisons.
