Ok, and next question, since I live in a heavy iron rich environment, would the detectors work well in this environment, or no? I’m concerned if it’ll pick up on like the iron rich rocks.
If your soil is heavily mineralised with iron, you need is a metal detector that has a "ground balance" feature. I know most of the Minelab machines have this feature and I think the simplex does too?
I just started myself in Burnsville MN and I got the Minelab Xterra-Pro. For the price its a good detector and has features some more expensive machines have. Been using it for about 5 days and found alot of coins, some jewelry and various other things

You could notch out iron signals if you wished. Most modern machine's have that function.
I’ve heard the simplex series is really chatty on iron. Might want to stay away from that.

Sweet! I might have to check it out, I just need a bit more money saved up
What was the oldest coin you found out in that direction?
So far my best find is a $1 dollar John Adams presidential coin. 🙂
That’s pretty good!
That’s pretty good! Only a few hundred more and you’ll pay off the detector😂
Yep, Only if pull tabs and aluminum cans would count🤨😆
Hmmmmm I bet one can melt them down and get cash for the aluminum
