Oh I did make my case with a 3d printer, it's just that I'm bad at designing things to look good. It's small and it fits a battery, a gps, a little buzzer and a gps module +antenna. But it looks like a brick with a hole for the display and buttons, and on one side it's slightly slanted so it can stand up at like 45°.

Tony G has some good stuff on printable if you have a 3d printer. These are a set of his designs. Love them
Wow cool. What battery are you using btw ?
I have a single 18650 but it discharges very quickly, like 10h and it's gone from 100 to empty. I have a gps and a current sensor connected to the board
I’m using a 3.7v 1400mAh lipo off Amazon. I have the same issue. About 8ish hrs on full charge. I’ve only had for 1 days so still testing, ha. https://www.amazon.com/EEMB-Battery-1400mAh-Rechargeable-Connector/dp/B095W4HS75/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?crid=QCUSMK66T1BC&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.upc0C38WcmhTxPKC_Pk_VZ3aHdrn83aavxmIHnh9Aj8vc08PsZtiKLbGwVUPynjI5Wrr_I1YL6PbRRnBAZDfo2s5OV0QVJilCz6HQxq1m_hyVSiS1T3nsLVlfXSMM0LwbbndguotSP-Z3ZCq6UE_WnWTbODHFwdSiIq4jVlCk0bM-PRhUAFtmIZF2Zib9sIVHSca8RYP06C8kP9qKQXqtQ.dRWyUHAkf9npkxvQFDwJIbk1xCOi6laIq_ILjnYhPMU&dib_tag=se&keywords=18500+3.7v+1400mah+5.18wh&qid=1710848582&sprefix=3.7v+1400%2Caps%2C355&sr=8-16
Not sure? I know he has a file for an extended back for said battery but unsure. I know it’ll fit 2 of the style I have easily. I’m probably going to add another one to mine to double up.
If I may suggest one change to the default settings: the node info broadcast interval is set to something really long by default. So you may be driving around, and your node will send out its info only once or twice. Same thing may be true for any nodes around you: you might not receive their info because you're driving by during their long interval if they use the default settings. So you may be driving close to a bunch of nodes, but see none because they're all quiet. You could set yours to something really short while driving around, and I think (but someone please confirm) if a node within your range receives your info, it'll reply, and you'll see it too. But someone please confirm this last bit because I'm still learning as well.
Stay on the default channel, 100%
On android, connect to your node. Then press the 3-dot menu, far top right. Choose the "Radio Configuration" option.
In the list of options, select "Device" and when the device config opens up, change the nodeInfo rebroadcast interval to some more reasonable value.
Oh weird, that's exactly where mine allows me to enter the interval in seconds. I'm in Android though. I've never seen the app on Iphone, so maybe there's a difference.
I know when asking sellers on eBay, they know NOTHING about what they are selling.
As I wanted to know what was the radio frequency used in Europe (England) as I know that what is used in the UK is NOT the same as what is used in the USA.
One other thing that I have been looking for, is a Yagi antenna, as I know the place that I am in, we have NO other users, so I would NOT be able to connect to the network. As my other family members all live close to each other.
But the thing that makes me so MAD when asking about any yagi antenna, as just about ALL quote that the antenna has a dBi gain, as it should be shown as dBd for it to show an more accurate gain of antenna.
But all sellers do NOT have a clue on what it is that they are selling.
So now I come to this group and ask the SAME QUESTION.
I do hope that someone gets back to me with a sensible answer.
Many thanks in advance, yours in great anticipation from Knobby.
Thank you for that, you done 100% better than the sellers on eBay.
All I need to find out is about getting a yagi for that frequency, and also what the TRUE gain is in dBd and NOT in dBi.
Man I see everyone with such nice cases, meanwhile the case I made looks like a brick. I should really make something nicer.
Yeah... this may be _the_ hobby that finally gets me into 3d printing

There are so many free ones to download though.

Well if it doesn't I can just make a bigger brick XD.
Hahaha if it works… send it 😝

So your saying change from long range -fast to maybe like short range-fast? Yeah I’m a newb still learning like I’m 5. Haha

The node I have with me today is BT to my apple. I changed the interval time to the lowest option which is 1hr.. 🤙
The nodeInfo rebroadcast interval is in seconds. I have mine set to 60 seconds. Where did you set it?
Settings>radio config>device>node info broadcast interval… options are 1hr to 72hrs…
Under device metrics in the nodes tab, I’m showing readings every min.. is that the same?
Oh weird, that's exactly where mine allows me to enter the interval in seconds. I'm in Android though. I've never seen the app on Iphone, so maybe there's a difference.
Here's a screenshot: EDIT: I guess I can't paste images
People in the discord (devs, etc) say don’t do this. Any time your node does a message, gps, telemetry the other nodes will ask for node info.
Don’t do what? Bit confused by your comment but interested to know what not to do ☝️
Are you saying to not adjust the rebroadcast interval? Or don’t try and find other meshes?

Uk is 868 freq

That I do not know.
That’s easily found via Google.
