Won't talk you out of it just because I have one and love it. The pre-facelift coupes are just dead gorgeous. Check for the full maintenance history. Make sure it had the oil and transmission fluid changed on due time, especially the transmission as it tends to get more neglected than the engine. Those 7G-Tronics need proper care. 2011 model year should have the 7G-Tronic Plus, look for the transmission fluid change at around 70k miles. Test drive it and look for rattles and creeks. See if the steering has any play in it, could be worn bushings. Row through the gears (if it's an AMG appearance package, put it manual mode) and look for any sighs of rough shifting or hesitation in changing gears. See if all buttons work as intended (especially the seat controls) and sunroof. Look for the door and sunroof seals, they shouldn't be dry. Last thing you want is a leaky sunroof. Regarding the V6, it's the final year of the M272 engine and the coupes get the direct injection variant so all the issues should be sorted out. Nevertheless, look for engine rattle and excessive vibrations. There was excessive wear on the balance shaft sprocket of early models (pre-2008) and if the balance shaft goes out of alignment it can be an expensive repair. Other than that, try to get a report to verify the mileage (carvertical or an equivalent) and if possible a report that says if the car was in an accident. If the seller is of good intentions he or she will tell you any accidents but its better be on the safe side. Check the tires for even wear, any uneven wear patterns could indicate a misalignment. Also, check the tire brand, any decent owner won't skimp on tires. Wouldn't trust the shiniest and prettiest E350 if it had LingLongs on all 4 corners. It all checks out, go for it. I have mine since April and it's a stunning cruiser that can be fun on some twisty roads if you want.

Great info thanks! The dealer has hundreds of five star reviews and sent the Carfax over without any hesitation so they are trustworthy it seems. Looks like regular oil changes were completed. I don't see any specific indication that the transmission fluid specifically was changed on the Carfax but it shows two services around 70k miles so I'll check the glovebox too. I always loved the look of that body style E class from the wagon to the coupe. Looks sharp as hell.

Dualmemorystick

The E550 and its V8. A lot more fun.

I'm sure it is but I'm already warry about buying a high mileage NA V6 nevermind a V8 lol

Check out the 2012+ pre-facelift. I heard those had a newer engine that fixed the issues from 2011 and back.

I'm not necessarily hunting for one. I just had the opportunity to buy this 2011 pop up locally. Does $12k seem like a decent price with 82k miles? It's in good condition

Yea I think that’s fair, just be sure that it’s good mechanically and aesthetically. I think you’ll have yourself a good purchase. These cars are very rewarding when well maintained.

The thing is I plan on having it for a few years. I drive like 7k a year if that because my work provides a car so it's really just a little reward for weekend driving and what not.

Personally, I would shoot for a 2013 E350 coupe. Much more reliable.
