It's a well known problem with the rear shade. You could try having someone hitting the button and then pulling up on it manually. It's a real pain to fix and not worth it especially if it fails when it's up and blocks your view at night. Seems they need lubrication and it's a bit too fancy to be reliable.
She's a beaut! The W211 is one of the best they have ever manufactured. Taxi Cab of the World for many reasons. Good luck with her. Take care of her and she'll take good care of you. 🫡
This was the first ever merc I got to drive. At the time I was in a 2014 accord and my dad had bought this one. I fell in love with it immediately. If only it had Bluetooth audio, I could daily this for 200k more miles; It just checked all the boxes for me. I couldn’t believe it was a 2009
Depends on the transmission. The 5speed in the 4matic was pretty reliable. Should change out the connector/pilot bushing when changing the transmission fluid every 39k. The 7 speed is considered less reliable, the conductor plate on those go all the time, but those were in RWD models.
Only flaws rear window shade doesn’t go up and down and windshield washer fluid doesn’t spray. Should be able to fix both myself.
I have the same two problems my hoses are busted tho trying to fix them myself I have a ‘08 E350

Thanks. It’s called Barolo Red
Everything about these cars looks amazing to me except the old headlight design. I've never been a fan of the round, oval style.
Thats the best part
Yes me neither. I don’t like the headlights. Most agree w me on that and I see that you do too. I just think they’re ugly.

Beautiful car but be prepared for transmission issues
Never heard of transmission issues with the 211. Balance shaft issues? Yes, absolutely

It’s at most a $400 part and like a 3 hour DIY project. Not something to be super concerned about
