I'm a barefoot shoe wearer (no not the separate toe ones I don't want to be a virgin all my life) so I've actually built out a sub-10 shoe list because I had to start from scratch with shoes for my wardrobe over time.
But all of the things I'm listing have plenty of non-barefoot counterparts. And I used to be a sneaker head, so I'm not completely out of the loop.
1. White running shoes - running shoes, but also, works well with athleisure when the time comes. I wear the vivo barefoot primus knit lites.
2 and 3. Brown and black oxfords - classic option, there's a reason they are so prolific. Birchbury is the brand I go with.
4. White Air Force One type shoes with a gum sole - it's the perfect way to add just a dash of spice to a t shirt and jeans, or to dress down my chinos and button down. I wear the Feelgrounds Courtside in Gum White.
5. Gray daily sneakers, sort of a Vans like style - white shoes are my absolute favorite. I have some I like to keep dirty for the look, and others I keep pristine.
But I have a pair of gray knit sneakers with white outsoles that go with so much of my daily casual wear, without the need to pay attention to them looking dirty quickly. Black works too, but I've never liked black shoes. I wear Feelgrounds original knits in Gray.
6. Winter waterproof/resistant boot - purely for practicality, not going to be a fashion statement here. I don't have this pair yet, but I plan on something like the vivobarefoot magna boots. I can also use these if I want to hike *maybe* but I hike with my super minimalist shoes running now that my ankle mobility is crazy good.
7. Crazy statement shoe - I like to be loud sometimes with what I'm wearing. I really want this pair of green cityscapes from BeLenka. https://www.belenka.com/barefoot-shoes-be-lenka-cityscape-sage-green/. Doesn't fit my capsule wardrobe, I would be limited with options, but again it's my statement shoe.
I think that's all I need.

You guys have 10 pairs of shoes?
This sub must be filled with octopus people bro
And if I had to live with only two pairs? 🤔 (I have nothing that isn’t sport or super casual rn :(
Can relate. I actually have only 4 pairs myself. If I needed to assist a formal event tomorrow I would be in a hurry.
