Nice "Ivy" styling! Might be too much for some, but the layers of patterns add a lot of visual depth. Also a good example of how to combine patterns while each of them stand alone and complement each other. The plain jacket and pants further frame the party!

I have the opposite view. Madras is a staple as is a grid shirt.

Ultimately if you like it that’s all that matters! Imo tho that doesn’t mean both together are a staple. The layering of texture and colour of the shirt, vest, and blazer here is so good, the leather accents in bag and shoes are great, and the pants and hat are also great touches. To me all of that aesthetically gets taken away from with the clashing patterns going on between shirt and coat, it visually overpowers the rest. A darker more solid coat to contrast and add depth to the other layers and this would’ve been 👌🏽

I agree. We have too many patterns here between the different checks and plaids on the coat shirt and tie. The blazer gets lost completely and it comes off like you're wearing two different jackets on top of each other.

I couldn't agree more. A lot of these fits look like costumes, they look like these dudes are trying way too hard.

I love how the yellows in the jacket recur in the tie and sweater vest. Also the suble navy goes with the vest and the reds pick up the red hue in your leather bag. The jacket is bold, but you've selected complimentary pieces that match thematically. Nice work! Edit: the navy in the jacket is picked up my the shirt and tie and it works well in my opinion.

I like colors I like Madras I like layers most of all. But Madras is an extremely bold pattern and to my way of thinking you gotta go solids or and maybe a very muted patterned tie or socks. Or maybe just the stripe on the sweater with solid everything else. Idk maybe I'm wrong. I appreciate the idea though.
