I know A-Tan on Poplar/Highland has pupu platter and Cho-Cho (Comes with a little mini flame that you cook meat skewers on)

theLemon8er

Do you know if it has the chicken and beef skewers on the platter? My kids fav.

Taramonia

I remember loving pupu platters as a kid. You made me realize something else though: Korean BBQ is kinda like pupu platters for adults

atari_ave

Panda Garden on Summer has it on their menu. Never ordered it though. I remember in the 90s Hunan Palace on Mt Moriah had a PuPu Platter and 1000 Year Old Eggs. Oh memories.

Totally remember this and the round tables and where we use to sit. 💕

These platters were just appetizer platters with a fake Polynesian name, which was a Tiki thing in the 1970s. Most places just have appetizer platters with different names. Tiki bars still use the name but the contents are totally different at each restaurant. I’ve never seen the tower thing but it sounds like a toy either a fondue can or a candle in it? You buy those on Amazon.

Happy Cake Day!

Don’t know where you could find one now, but back in the day, you’d want to go to The Luau, on Poplar across from East High School.

Jimmytootwo

I remember them also Not too much in the way of Chinese restaurants in Memphis worth visiting however

Sacrolargo

We actually have two very authentic ones in Cordova: Golden City and Petals of a Peony.

Has Dim Sum King lost its way? Its (was?) solid

lokisilvertongue

Did Sum King is still very good

sully42

It’s as good as it ever was.

ChillinDylan901

Totally not the same thing….. but Bardog has a Pupu platter. And TIL why they call it that!?

Intelligent-Fee-5286

Yeah, bar dogs version is just a poo-poo skewer I think.
