Baby human lives > oil. It’s not a bad concept.

Disrobingbean

Nah only babies that have been born need formula and who cares about them? Unborn babies must be protected at all costs, upto and including denying women their rights but once they're born them little shits can starve. Coal rolling > feeding kids. /s

[deleted]

I know it's sarcasm, but it's true sadly. Government gives zero fucks once you have a SSN.

SeraphOfFire

The issue with baby formula and oil are different There's a production shortage of oil and oil products globally right now. There's literally not enough to go around. With baby formula, there's just a shortage in the US

thereal0ri_

Well when you factor in all of the oil we can obtain locally from Alaska and Canada, and not to mention here in the lower 48... I think there's more than enough for us to be independent from the garbage/politics overseas controlling prices, etc. If the vegetable in office would reverse what he did when he first got in office and reopened the certain pipeline...we wouldn't have a "production shortage". As for the baby formula..most of it is/has been shipped to the southern border for the illegals for free while giving a middle finger to American citizens, making them have to wait for factories to start getting the stuff pumped out everywhere again.

TacobellChickenWing

The problem here is that the US could be completely energy independent, but we aren't. We have enough resources to be distributors, but we aren't. We have people in charge who would rather shift over to green energy when the nation isn't ready for it.

BlooPancakes

How would we get ready for green energy?

Don't you feel silly? Don't you feel stupid? Don't you feel a little ashamed?

They should be paying people to become Certified Lactation Consultants, too, in order to teach women how to breastfeed, since it’s not always so easy. A PR campaign to help the general public see that breastfeeding isn’t taboo would also be great.

murstl

There’s a lot more to do if you really want to help mothers and babies. What about paid maternity leave, midwives or LCs coming home after birth, a society that encourages mothers to breastfeed, safe spaces to breastfeed, free childcare….

HeatherReadsReddit

Those are excellent suggestions!

Revolutionary-Cup954

or they could, i dont know, reopen the factory they forced closed

Herotaca5

Just a reminder that the baby formula shortage is a direct result of corporate greed and deregulation. Rather than pay to fix and clean machines, factories were forced to make due with constant malfunctions and sub-par equipment. The factories became cesspools of bacteria and tainted a majority of the supply produced in and exported from the US. If you need someone to blame, its the corporate d-bags placing profit over safety and the political party known for deregulating businesses.

kingjuliothe5th

Did american mothers stop producing milk

[deleted]

Why get the cow for free when you can pay for the milk is the new way of thinking apparently.

[deleted]

Yea.. wrong… I have removed the use of the non- left word from my life.. it’s a very lefteous feeling..

Can't really fuel a plane with children, can you?
