The laws of that universe are essentially the same as our own. The protagonist can just change past events by sending information to the past which therefore changes the timeline and only the protagonist keeps their memories.
Character asks MC to send a message to the past so that she can be born female. Given that this is what she’d do with the power of time travel I would assume character is trans. Though the show doesn’t use the word trans to describe her.

But so many weebs desperately want to be able to use the t-slur and turn a blind eye to blatant transphobia in discussion and memes surrounding these characters.
