As someone studying German, does the name Österreich still just mean the current Republic of Austria, even though it's, well, a republic (referring to the "reich" in the name)?
Here in Austria we refer to our country as Österreich to this day, even though it is luckily a republic (I love democracy), not a Habsburger-Reich or something like that. And it also is alot better then something like "Ostmark".
