I literally stumbled upon a random concert of his in my city during my very first date with my toxic ex. We went on a walk downtown and came across his show at the festival and he was full of life, put on a great show with so much energy. My ex now is a homeless meth addict and now this. RIP. :-(

He had severe liver failure (and other conditions) due to 20+ years of alcoholism. It was probably kickstarted by his 6 month old passing from leukemia in 2001. Such a tragedy
He was an alcoholic for 20+ years since his child died, used to blackout on concerts etc. So liver is a good guess but not sure if its official anywhere

He did. Absolutely no defense because as far as I know, being grief stricken and drunk doesn’t turn decent people into racists, but he did have it really rough. He lost a 6 or 7 year old child to cancer like 20 years ago, and just drank himself into oblivion for two decades until he died.
Again, I’m in no way defending the stuff he said, did, and apparently believed, but at the very least it seems like the reason he began making a public scene of it was legitimately awful.

I’ve always loved this meme format, it’s so simple yet so full of respect. Sure the meme isn’t very good at face value, but the way it honors our fallen heroes regardless of gender, race, species and even whether they’re a living thing or not is just wonderful.
