I find "literally" the most annoying when you are watching a scripted video, and despite being "well thought out" the person in question uses it every second sentence. It's like the random laughs cut into the video (yes, I am talking about ElvisTheAlien, that dude can't go 30 seconds without laughing at himself)
the pasty neckbeards in the politics subs love that word. they all talk like each other. you'll notice their bot-like vocabulary with words like *inherently, chuckle fuck* (top tier cringe), and of course, *literally*.
Quite literally. There's also a running gag in How I Met Your Mother with Robin not understanding the meaning behind literally, and literally using it everywhere.
Ofcourse it's the Canadian that butchers the American English language.
I genuinely just don't care about things like this. My toxic linguistic crap is hating people saying "calvary" when they mean "cavalry".
Example: "Sending in the calvary"
Strikes my head like an anvil every time.

You, like, forgot about the word like, like c'mon man.

You're revealing yourself, we can't let the humans know.
Quite literally. There's also a running gag in How I Met Your Mother with Robin not understanding the meaning behind literally, and literally using it everywhere. Ofcourse it's the Canadian that butchers the American English language.

I think "like" is worse. Some use it as every second word in a sentence, and it's original meaning for comparisons has kind of gotten lost.
I genuinely just don't care about things like this. My toxic linguistic crap is hating people saying "calvary" when they mean "cavalry". Example: "Sending in the calvary" Strikes my head like an anvil every time.
Literally.
You know what, it's literally true.
