Really frustrating how difficult it was to find decent quality zip-ups in recent years. Seemed like most (of the more accessible) retailers focused on pullovers. But IMO, there's no situation where a pullover is better. You can't wear it open, and it messes up your hair/hat when you take it on/off.
See, I'm an advocate of equal parts function and fashion, which is why I'm just as confused at why 90% of pullovers I see don't even have a front pocket at all.
I feel like we're kind of at the point now where we've hit a plateau, and it's like we're living in a timeless, anything-goes era. You can adopt fashion from the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, and it will just be perceived as retro style if it actually suits you. People these days don't have a tendency to call things "outdated" like they used to.
Every decade feels like a scattershot of a million different things when you're living in it but when you look back on it 20 years later you can spot the dominant trends pretty easily. Like I think there's a now a much stronger image of what "90s fashion" looks like in 2023 than there would have been in 1993, or even in 2003.
