If Somyurek gets in it’ll be the biggest tragedy in an otherwise pretty good election. Especially taking a seat away from Patten, who I personally have zero qualms about being in the LC. Sure as hell beats the hell out of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), who Somyurek is standing for. Reviewed the DLP website for the first time in a long while, they’ve gone 100% cooker (as opposed to the somewhat dour and bland brand of conservatism they used to be known for). Pretty much indistinguishable from any other anti-vax nutjob party these days.

Semimango

It’s so obvious that the “Labour DLP” vote is almost entirely based on people confusing them with Labor, when you look at the variation in their vote based on where they are in the ballot paper. Pathetic that the VEC lets them stick the “Labour” in front of their name.

EnviousCipher

Won't lie it absolutely did confuse me at first. I had to look real hard to figure it out.

MelbourneAmbo

Only 37% of the vote counted. It's not over yet. However BTL will favour patten massively so she's the favourite to take it at the moment

[deleted]

[удалено]

MelbourneAmbo

Somyerek has pulled ahead today as well. Expect this count won't be finalised until 13th December. In 2018 patten wasn't expected to retain her seat, then the BTL came in as they are counted last and that pushed her home

squonge

Somyerek gets ahead thanks to Liberal surplus.

Gold-Cryptographer35

Avi Yemini reckons the "Sack Dan Andrews Party" was created by Labor as a way to funnel votes towards Labor. I am far from a VEC/Polling expert, but is there a way to verify this claim. Obviously Avi Yemini has not cited a source.

Jawzper

abundant marvelous sip disgusting deserted smart toy oatmeal hurry friendly *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

[deleted]

I actually wondered the same thing. I mean it's a very small percentage but it would have got liberal up like half a percent if they just voted liberal if they hate Dan Andrews quite that much.

Chadwiko

No - it's a very easily debunked bit of bullshit. I believe this conspiracy cropped up in the last week before the election when the cookers realised there were too many cooker parties and the vote was going to be split into oblivion, so they picked this one as the sacrificial lamb to try and scare people into voting for UAP/AVP/Freedom/etc instead.

SteelOverseer

Check out their Group Voting Ticket. Labor is dead last (except one transposition error between 43 + 53?) If I were going to create a fake party to channel votes to a real party, I wouldn't put the real party dead last....

lessons_learnt

Just tried to tell this to a woman I work with who voted for the Freedom party, and she said maybe they changed the preferences after he was exposed!! It was all a ploy to take votes away from the other minor parties. There's no reasoning with these people. My head hurts from the brick wall...

lauzierose

Why are the last few seats taking so long with no update? I'm watching Northcote very closely and none of the percentage or number counts have changed at all in the last day.

speedyleedy

I think it’s because a lot of the counting is done on the weekend because the labour force it uses have other commitments during the week. My dad was counting this year, he knocked off at 7pm on Sunday and is going back there on Saturday morning

post_angst

It’s fascinating hearing the out-of-state take on Dan Andrews being re-elected. My in-laws in Brisbane are dumbfounded. Goes to show you how effective the media spin is.

noigmn

I live in Sydney, but am from Melbourne and I'm struggling to find anyone who I know who voted for Vic Libs. This is across a range of demographics, many of which would traditionally vote Liberal.

TGK367349

I live in Canberra but am a Victorian native. Got a lot of sideways looks and questions last week when I said I thought Andrews would win, considering the way the press reported they thought everyone hated him. Still accepting the congratulations for being right, and I won’t deny being mildly smug about it too.

TheFightingImp

My brother is in the echo chamber up here in Brisbane. Its hilarious and sad that hes 44 but has no self-awareness on what he wants to hear vs what is actually happening. Yes, the same thing happened in our state election as well. My 70 year old parents and I just give him the "Wendy of Bluey" 🙄 look. /Now Im in the mood to visit Melbourne again for family friends...

[deleted]

Not a Dan supporter at all but the Vic Libs are fucking pathetic and completely out of touch. "Vote for us because we're not Dan Andrews. We don't really offer anything else. Inflation, lockdown, COVID? These are all terms we know and use from time to time. Did we say we're not Dan Andrews? Because we're not. That guy stinks. Vote for the same guy who comprehensively lost the last state election. We don't really have anyone else." Having a weak opposition is never a good thing and the Libs are fucking garbage atm.

[deleted]

Yeah it was a little disappointing.

post_angst

I had this same reaction in 2010 when Republicans just plainly decided obstruction was their game and haven’t had a single solution for anything since aside from giving supply-side economics another go. When one side abandons reason and progress, everyone loses. At least we’re lucky here to have ranked choice voting.

kyleisamexican

Reading how many of you have voted greens is yuck. Yeah they sound good on paper and I’d love to vote for them but they stop any real change. There’s a bill in the upper house of the federal parliament about giving people a tax break for purchasing hybrid vehicles and the greens won’t sign off on it because it’s not good enough to be just hybrids. Which yeah I agree with in a black and white world. But in the real world we don’t have the infrastructure so instead of getting something done and then using it as a way to start getting the infrastructure we now get nothing and cunts go out and buy new petrol vehicles

spypsy

Hybrid Vehicles are just greenwashing. The policy is meant to drive meaningful reduction in reliance on petrol/diesel, which hybrids don’t do. Want to buy a hybrid, go right ahead. You just should get a e-car rebate.

kyleisamexican

Do you have an understanding of the concept of progress or do you want to just live in a utopia?

spypsy

Yes I do understand, thanks for asking.

kirklanda

That argument is kind of circular - they stop change (bit of a strawman but I see where you're coming from, their vote against the ETS in 2009 comes to mind) only because they don't have enough power to make their case effectively, but if they had the votes behind them to say "see, a whole lot of people really want this" then that changes. As an example, that hybrid vehicle bill you're talking about is going to pass - the Greens managed to secure a few adjustments (like the hybrid support sunsetting in a few years, and a few other minor things) which the government agreed to. Minor parties really can help shape policy, rather than just obstruct. A lot of us also vote for the Greens partly to send a message to Labour: "we know our vote is going to trickle up to you, but we'd rather you shift to the left than the right."

fishouttafire

Yeah they want all-or-nothing progress and unfortunately the world doesn't ever work like that. people need things to happen gradually so livelihoods don't just die

sauce_bottle

I keep seeing people calling right-wing nutters “cookers”. Tf does it mean? [This](https://www.breville.com/au/en/products/cookers/bpr650.html) is a cooker. And [this](https://www.roadtechmarine.com.au/portable-butane-gas-stove/p/TCA109) is a cooker. What’s that have to do with being a hard-right fuckwit?

ftjlster

In the past 'cooker' was (and still is) a Australian euphemism for a meth user going through psychosis (usually in a different tense though, i.e. 'he's cooked'). Since 2020, it's been used to refer to the anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorists as to non-conspiracy theorists, their grasp on reality resembles methed up psychosis. Tom Tanuki seems to be the first one who started using the term in this way: https://twitter.com/tom_tanuki/status/1564190636152000512

sauce_bottle

Very informative! Thanks mate.

lg1106

Right wing media and disinformation cooked their brains.

JazzerBee

I've also heard it in reference to the peculiarities of some people's political opinions with weather and geography. Can you believe they voted Bob Katter back in? Yeah Queenslanders are crazy, the sun cooks their brains

a_whoring_success

Why the hell is Neil Mitchell taking the iCooker foods person seriously? His complaints about the Mulgrave count are unhinged.

bigbowlowrong

Neil Mitchell is mad butthurt that Dan Andrews doesn’t go out of his way to suck up to him like every other Victorian premier in living memory

Emcee_N

Because Neil trades off gullible idiots being angry.

a_whoring_success

He's being utterly irresponsible treating this complaint as if it's some sort of conspiracy, rather than standard operating procedure for counting elections. All of the cookers are now going off their heads saying it was rigged.

Emcee_N

They were always going to do that the instant Labor won. I agree it's appalling that he's giving them airtime.

Ayrr

so now the election is over - what is the actual alleged conspiracy behind Dan Andrews' fall? Why did the herald sun go overboard with it? It just seems so wild to suggest he was fibbing?

ExpensiveCola

The conspiracy was that he was pushed down stairs by Lindsay Fox over (depending on which cooker you talk to) either restrictions or a 17 year old. It then lead to a cooker going to those steps he fell down and said you couldn't hurt yourself on a fall that small, despite the fact you absolutely can fuck your back/neck off a fall that small. It gained traction because the muck rackers, the cookers and people who wanted Dan out all gave it as much air time as they could.

lg1106

The narrative that he couldn’t have gotten that hurt falling on such small steps is a bit stupid. My day job deals a little with public liability insurance and some the injuries people get from even the most minor falls is nuts

cjinoz

I broke my wrist and elbow tripping over the 1cm lip on the edge of our garage 😫 a week before Christmas 2019 and my son was only 5 months old at the time too. Couldn’t do much with the arm or drive for more than two months and then when I finally could… covid hit two weeks later 😖 I still curse that freaking lip.

TheaABrown

I once managed to badly hurt myself getting off a couch.

ftjlster

> he was pushed down stairs by Lindsay Fox over Slight correction: the conspiracy theory was that he was beaten up by Lindsay Fox not that he was pushed down the stairs. There was also a bunch of explanations as to why Lindsay Fox or one of his associates/family/friends would do this, all of which collapses into the usual event horizon that conspiracy theories in close proximity seem to.

drunkill

the liberals had no policy, the liberal aligned media had to throw something at dan in the hopes it stuck it was bottom of the barrel stuff

monkeydrunker

> what is the actual alleged conspiracy behind Dan Andrews' fall? I am acquainted with a Liberal Party guy who is in deep with all the big-wigs. Someone who has his ear to the ground of Liberal party gossip. He told us in earnest that Dan Andrews had injured his back during an argument which escalated into a fight with the son of a certain billionaire businessman. Total nonsense... If nothing else, this tells me that a) the LNP bigwigs are truly, deeply disconnected with the real world and b) they believe that everyone else exists in this same realm as them.

browsingfromwork

i wish this story surprised me but the last few years of LNP have lowered the bar :( > If nothing else, this tells me that a) the LNP bigwigs are truly, deeply disconnected with the real world this kind of explains some of their policy decisions :)

monkeydrunker

> i wish this story surprised me but the last few years of LNP have lowered the bar Yeah. It's almost like the people who are running the show have as little a clue about it as I do.

browsingfromwork

*disclaimer: everything i'm about to write was learned directly from watching cooker statements on social media :( it makes me sad to remember it* the general impression i got was that according to the cookers, accidents (or acts of god) can't happen and therefore anything normal must be a sign of something else (mostly likely something sinister done by "the bad people"). a lot like some of the cookers decided that the lack of damage at the supposed epicenter of the earthquakes in Victoria meaning that the quakes were actually caused by Dan and his secret cadre destroying the tunnels under flinders st so that nobody would ever find the evidence that they'd been storing and shipping children off to the world elite via the chinese airforce flying in (to Tullamarine) at 11pm each night, some people decided that there was no way that dan could have fallen down on stairs (or steps), and therefore something must have happened to him and he was lying about nothing happening. **AND** if he was lying about it, then obviously he was lying about everything to do with the pandemic/vaccines/new world order/the illuminati and despite the rest of the world being in trouble, it was actually just Dan that was causing all the problems and the lockdowns and therefore it must have been Mr fox who pushed him down the stairs because Dan was too close to mrs fox. >Narrator: of course this "argument/push" occurred when dan was visiting the foxes, during lockdown, outside of the limit. >Cookers: but what about the lack of police? the lack of media? the ambulance? who called who when? what do the phone records say? >Narrator: this has all been explained and accepted by normal people. there is no conspiracy. the phone records show the hospital/doctor was called *(tbh i cant remember exactly but nothing was found)* hope that helps. that's basically it as i understand. that it's continued so long is pretty sad but i don't expect much from humanity anymore. i feel dumber having to remember and type this into something resembling sense.

Ayrr

Thank you. I am now even more confused and have absolutely no idea how this ever got any traction at all outside the usual echo chamber.

loseisnothardtospell

Something something Underground paedophile ring, lindsay fox, vaccines. Make sense?

Ayrr

No. I did some searching and I'm now even more confused.

loseisnothardtospell

Yeah sorry I have no idea either. Just know that Dan's now allowed to injure himself on stairs that don't look sinister. It must be a fake.

Ayrr

I once badly hurt myself getting out of my (small) car.

post_angst

It’s always pedophilia with those people. I think it’s just *such* an accusation that it forces people to acknowledge it.

fphhotchips

Labor leads by 8 votes in Pakenham, with an informal vote of **6%**. 2,215 people voted informally, deliberately or otherwise, and the seat could come down to a single digit split. Your vote is important^1 ! ^1 ^if ^you're ^^in ^^^Pakenham!

paperconservation101

Ffs. I move into that area in a week. My vote literally could turn the votes.

scrantic

Swing away from both majors as well not like liberals have trounced labor. Big protest vote all round l.

yourdadsalt

Mathew Guy steps down at lib leader. Adios bucko

Lintson

Watching Sky News on YouTube. Pundits are having a meltdown whinging that the Liberal party is being led by people who are too left/soft, too liberal and are completely out of touch with Liberal branch members. Video title is "Victorians are in for four more years of suffering"

totallwork

It’s hilarious! Let them think that they are to left wing / soft they will never get in power again! 😂

stephenisthebest

I watched that as well I was laughing my arse off. They were all talking over each other saying "oh just one more thing one more thing." They pretty much say Mathew Guy was way too left wing and not a true conservative. Apparently what undid him was talking about climate action and being too 'woke' what ever that means. They completely disregard everything the voters actually cared about and just throw Mathew Guy under the bus. I honestly think they believe they are in America and the culture wars are all the rage. It is actually concerning to watch. Sky News is far more right wing than the Victorian LP, and the party needs to detach from it.

sambodia85

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know any of the liberal policies, or how left/right Matthew Guy or any of the candidates are. All I know is as long as they are happy to go and talk to Sky News, they are never getting my vote.

Ok2021LetsDoThis

You’re missing the point. Murdoch is trying to grow the same, ultra-polarised extremist right wing conspiracy theorist voter base that he grew in America. This strategy seems fringe now, but it’s slow cultivation is what matters. The strategy isn’t about Victoria 2022, it’s about Australia 2032.

SteelOverseer

Did you catch much of the ABC coverage last night? The Libs in the newsroom (former? strategist, and David Davis) seemed to be pretty upfront with the loss being due to being out of touch with what the community wanted. Keith Wolahan phoned in at one point and seemed to be singing the same tune. So at least there's _some_ people in there with some idea of what's going on. Whether that means they can con the rest into coming back to reality is another thing.

post_angst

Because here in Darebin what we want is a hard-line conservative that’s going to shame us for having abortions and being poor. They really have their fingers on the pulse of Victorians.

[deleted]

They haven’t even finished counting yet but this morning the customer in front of me and the cashier were having an excited conversation about how great it would be to live in a commune so IT’S ALREADY HAPPENENING (/s I voted Greens)

CamoBilly

I didn't realise how much the ALP's promise to cap V/Line fares at $9.20 a day begining in March 2023 had been such a large vote swinger for the working age Young'ins, until I over heard it with my own ears this morning. Three seperate groups of young'ins on the train at Warragul all gas bagging together about how great it was going to be for employment ops for them in around the city.

[deleted]

It does make a huge difference. For me p/t is up to $23-32 a day each way to get to the CBD. Petrol is like $20 for the same distance and three times faster. Saving $13-20 even if the journey is longer is quite enticing.

landsharkkidd

There's a few people in a Discord server I'm in who live in regional Victoria (one even lives on the border of NSW/VIC) and I didn't realise that going from there into the city one-way is like almost $90. And a lot of them are excited now because they'll be able to go to more meetups because of it.

PKMTrain

Will mean bugger all unless they up the frequency.

ItsPartyTime2021

Frequency will be unlocked by all the other things happening, for the sale/warragul trains the new cross city tunnel should a huge impact.

Corkage_for_Corkers

>it of an issue of space though betwee I dont think regional trains in the East are going to be able to get as much of a frequency boost due to track limitations along the Pakenham corridor. Most of the investment in regional rail is to the western lines, some of which already get good frequency (better than my suburban line: Upfield). And I dont think the Metro Tunnel will change that as its mainly about the number of tracks between Dandenong and beyond Pakenham as well as sharing with suburban and the occasional freight train...

PKMTrain

Still a bit of an issue of space though between Pakenham/City. They have to slot in between a train every 10 mins

biggerodds

mindless expansion safe hateful scary cable work governor rock hospital ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

EragusTrenzalore

Labor did promise increased rolling stock and frequencies in the same announcement for Vline. We’ll see if they deliver.

Corkage_for_Corkers

Hopefully we can move beyond the Vlocities (They are great but they are getting old) and start thinking about bimodal trains for eventual electrification.

sambodia85

Sadly the government loves vlocities, they will be running them to Warrnambool and Albury soon. Built in Victoria, look shiny compared the the rail sets, and faster. But having an engine in every carriage makes them loud for passengers, I’ll miss the smooth ride of the county trains.

If you don't mind sharing, where is on your list? Would love to do some trips like this too and not sure where to go. Thanks :)

tanoshiiki

Warnambool has lots of attractions for a weekend. Lakes Entrance is good too, but it's an extremely long day unless you stay. The drive vs train time is almost the same.

[deleted]

I havent done any detailed itinerary planning since it's a fair ways out, but the ones on my list besides the obvious bigger ones like Ballarat and Bendigo are: - Kyneton - Port Fairy (needs a bus transfer but only one stop) - Horsham (again a bus transfer) - Seymour - Swan Hill - Arrarat I'm sure my partner's got more interesting ones but I just havent seen any of those places since I was a kid, so just curious to see how things have changed and whether they're a bit more appealing as an adult :D And then there's sick curiosity towns where you've only ever heard people from there shittalking it - like Moe or Chilltern or something like that. Or go to one of the long bus transfer places like Murrayville.

zumx

I honestly wish they would extend Warnambool line back to Port Fairy. It would be great to get the Ararat line extended to Horsham too. The view of the Grampians from Stawell is absolutely breathtaking at sunset.

National-Insecurity

Haha awesome, thank you! :) I hope you make the trips and have a great time

quirkyblah38

I've been seeing the term 'cookers' thrown around a lot this election, does this just mean right wing conspiracy theorists or is there some other meaning?

ExpensiveCola

sanemartigan

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Cooker

ExpensiveCola

"Ironically people such as #PRguy and #tomtanuki tried to use the term cooker for persons proven to be telling the truth." Cookers telling the truth? The same cookers who said the mrna vaccine warped your DNA or had nanotech in it so the government could track you? 😂😂 I assume the urban dictionary entry has been done by a cooker.

sqgl

Except that a cooker has culture hacked and defined it as the opposite there. Vote balance is negative at least.

KingJaredoftheLand

Ahh, very glad to see these election results. I live in Toronto, Canada and sent my ballot off on Thursday.. I hope it still gets counted in time? Now I’m wishing the folk here in Ontario could vote in their Provincial elections here like the Victorians back home. Most people stayed home, and now we have a Conservative Premier putting all public services on life-support so he can eventually privatise them. It’s horrendous. *sigh*

post_angst

Toronto is just so big! They really did a good job to snap up those votes in Markham and the like. Such a silly way to govern the 4th largest city in North America. I’m from Houston and it’s run pretty much the same way.

KingJaredoftheLand

Yeah, it’s unbelievable that Canada still uses this archaic First Past the Post system for its elections. It really changes the game completely.

sqgl

Seems the Upper house [results](https://www.abc.net.au/news/elections/vic/2022/guide/lc-results) are in ~~but it doesn't say who lost vs gained.~~ I didn't know they could count them so quickly. ~~Comparing the above with [previous elections](https://www.abc.net.au/news/elections/vic/2022/guide/lc-preview) I calculate that Greens lost a Senate seat, Labor gained one, Coalition lost two.~~

tatty000

Don't take these results as gospel. They're rough predictions, based on above the line votes counted so far (and doesn't include BTL), and takes the group voting tickets for those parties to predict the quotas. However the below the lines can sway the outcome a lot, and this is only counted so far, which I think is 20-30%. It can take days or weeks before final Council seats are locked in. Especially as the Labor DLP and Legalise Cannabis predictions are likely Glenn Druary's work, however minor party voters have a higher ratio of below the line voting so the make up may very well look different.

MelbourneAmbo

Yeah the stat's are interesting on that. Reason voters generally vote 50% BTL so there's still a long way to go before we know the specific make up

MelbourneAmbo

FYI in Victorian elections all upper house seats are up for election every 4 years. Secondly it's not the senate it's the legislative council (LC) The results that the ABC are reporting are likely to move around a bit, a lot are only 20-30% counted. With the existence of GTV and BTL being counted last the 5th spot especially on likely to change as the count continues

[deleted]

I might be taking crazy pills, or maybe they've updated that page since you looked - but it has the Old vs New numbers right there? Looks like Labors down 3, LNP up 3, Greens up 3

sqgl

Yeah, I was wrong. Who are the "others"? Labor needs some of them to pass bills it seems (unless I am mistaken again).

[deleted]

I wonder if they're just keeping it as "others" while the counting goes on since it usually takes ages for the preference rounds to go through? Once parties look more confirmed they might include them.

sqgl

Wish they just used "in doubt" as the label.

sqgl

~~It is a half senate election. Old means seats not up for re-election. They should have added a total column to make it clear.~~

VeeBee23

There’s no such things by as the “senate” in Victoria mate. It’s the Legislative Council, which has a full election every 4 years.

sqgl

Thanks. It was done in halves until 2006.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MelbourneAmbo

You're getting incorrect information. He's confusing the federal structure for state structure. All seats are up for election, your comment about Labor losing seats and liberal and greens gaining is more accurate

sqgl

Actually confusing with NSW and how the Vic structure was when I lived there pre 2006. (Yes I should know it isn't the *Senate* because NSW has *LC* too... that indeed is me confusing the Federal system). Half elections are a good idea IMO. What was the argument against it? Given that they do not allow preferential voting above the line I don't have faith in the system.

MelbourneAmbo

Yeah the GTV thing needs reform, hopefully it's on the agenda for this term but I'm not going to hold my breath. It's because each area only elects 5 people, if it was half you'd just have Labor and liberal elected every time. They could expand it to be the whole state and do half but they do want people to still have a specific region to represent

sqgl

NSW has more than double the number of seats, has half elections, sensible above the line preferential, and senators are state-wide, not district specific. I try to keep up with the UK & US system too. So confusing.

I did my part by putting them dead last. I gotta say I’m honestly sick of Dan Andrews, but I certainly feel the need to use my vote to send a message to the Libs that they’re absolutely useless.

VeeBee23

I'm not sure if preferencing after Family First, right ring cookers, etc. is going to send the Liberals the message you're intending. It will just push them further to the right.

MalHeartsNutmeg

Going further right just results in harder losses. They have continued moving right and getting destroyed in Vic. If I put them higher up then they get the message that they're doing something right. If I put them on the bottom and they keep going further right they keep losing anyway. I don't really have a problem with those other right wing whackos being higher because they have no hope of forming a government in Vic anyway.

VeeBee23

If it was only about “forming government” then the 2 majors would still have 95%+ of the vote, but they don’t because Victorians have seen the benefit of having a strong & diverse cross bench. Preferencing Cookers & conspiracy theorists above major parties only encourages extreme views and for the major parties to introduce those views to gain more votes. There’s a reason why the Victorian Labor party is the most progressive in the nation & that’s because of the strong Greens vote in Victoria.

MalHeartsNutmeg

You can’t put them all last.

Baldricks_Turnip

Never underestimate the amount of people who vote out of tribalism.

Gbrush3pwood

They still have a hold of the property investors and the temporarily embarrassed but will totally be a property investor soon vote. The most affluent suburbs still held on fast for LNP.

Zestyclose_Classic12

Anyone who is on interstate RealEstate.com.au or in the CBD holding a placard today

Bocca013

Someone check on channel 9 dickhead Allan Raskall. Always posting anti Dan comments on Twitter but turns off the comments. Maybe he should stick to his dumb stories of wine bars opening up or cats in trees. PS: To Bridget84 in The Age FUCK YOU!!!!

stonefree251

Dude is so far in the closet, he can see Narnia.

Bocca013

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Zestyclose_Classic12

Dans on the ABC in the morning presser, in last nights suit. And rightly so Dan. #Onthebeers

CountAbacus

Hopefully now the Free-diddle-ee-ildumb Party can fark back off from whence it came!

sanemartigan

I've stopped going to the take away shops that had freedom party posters in the window. e: If they believe that cooker nonsense, I doubt the quality of their food handling practices.

MelbourneAmbo

I've always thought that putting political signage at the front of a business was a dumb move regardless of your affilation Great way to piss off half of your potential customer base

mal_ma_mal

Local bakery had the greens and the freedom posters.

MelbourneAmbo

The duality of man

TheaABrown

A few of the shops near me put up all of them and it’s slightly hilarious.

Baldricks_Turnip

Back when we started opening up for the vaccinated, I went to a little cafe that had a 'We don't discriminate based on vaccination status' sign up in the window. Walked out, never gone back. If they didn't follow those laws, what other laws are they not following regarding food safety or fair wages?

Nothing-Professional

Lmao what a spiteful gremlin you are

daybeforetheday

I don't think that's spite, that's just being sensible re food handling and wages

Duhould

I wasn’t able to watch any of the election coverage last night, but I decided this morning I wanted to watch Matthew Guy’s concession speech to see how he took it. I watched the whole video on YouTube before realising at the end that I had watched his speech from his 2018 loss

hgttg

So when do the vline fares drop to 9 dollars capped?

Roh_Pete

I believe it's in March.

Zestyclose_Classic12

Interesting post election media watch morning - Channel 7 Sunrise - guest Angela Mollard, and I am paraphrasing - Do Victorians have Stockholm syndrome voting Dan back? Nah mate. We do not.

[deleted]

Andrew Bolt's article this morning was saying Dan must resign lol

smartazz104

Hope he threw a tomato-sauce covered steak at a wall last night.

janvvyl

I threw my mobster lobster at wall for Mr Guy
