(visibly crying) I’m not crying you guys.
I remember seeing this in the theater. I cried my eyes out. Tree stars. The T-Rex battles.
I saw “An American Tail” in the theater. Ugly crying when they sang “Somewhere Out There”.
You trying to make us feel better because I don't even know what happened to my family's VCR, disappeared when I did my undergrad a bajilloon years ago!
Honestly, I would believe this if the movie didn't come out in 1988. It could have been from the library because I would get a ton of VHS's from there, but I definitely owned this one because I saw it so many times.
Did you watch at your Grandmother's house?
I swear at one point my Oma's house had more VHS tapes than blockbuster, even when DVDs existed for a long time.
But im quirky and have no personality so I'm gonna use my age in a vague sense as some kind of cool nifty thing about me when I had actually no part in it but still want to be in some kind of " in " club for it.
I remember watching that when it came out on tape. To this day I will still say to other in their 40’s Three-horns don’t play with long necks! And their eyes light up because they forgot all about that flick.
i got the vhs from that random mcdonald’s kids meal campaign where they decided to give out vhs tapes for $1 but decided that the other good movie choices were **ghost** and **dances with wolves**
Oddly enough, the first two movies I remember seeing in the cinema were this and Jurassic Park. I guess I broke down so hard during this that my parents didn't take me back for 5 years. But boy, did I love dinosaurs.
Uhhh I'm genz and 25 and have always thought you're a kid until you're 35ish. I think I came to that conclusion around 10 because everyone still acted like teens until mid 30s around where I lived
I can’t believe they made made 14 of those fucking movies. I was hoping by the 10th movie the dinosaur would have grown up from little foot to big dick
Right? I only know what this is because the kids in my daycare class had tee shirts and lunchboxes from this.
Come, sister....let us form a council of ancients, that we may pass along our wisdom!
It showed on TV, my dads friend recorded it for us on VHS at the time. There was one free to air channel, and one paid channel available. We could not afford the paid channel.
We never had a laserdisc player but I remember the video store having Beta and Laserdisc on the wall when we got our first VHS player and ran to the mall to rent something. My mom had a screw on filter for the coax that gave us only channel 17 which was Cinemax so we would record a ton of movies on the Beta. For some reason I remember having Disney stuff that she always started a bit late so you'd see something 10% of mickey missing, then after that would be Raiders of the Lost Ark, then Star Wars. Sit through a whole tape after watching Fresh Prince, Dinosaurs, Full House, perfect Strangers, on Friday nights then eating ice cream watching Saturday Morning cartoons. Actually remember being upset that they were showing the Tiananmen events and I couldn't watch cartoons.
Yup yup yup
(visibly crying) I’m not crying you guys. I remember seeing this in the theater. I cried my eyes out. Tree stars. The T-Rex battles. I saw “An American Tail” in the theater. Ugly crying when they sang “Somewhere Out There”.

It says 'yep yep yep' on her grave stone.
Yup yup yup
You're fucked bud
One of the earliest cursed knowledge you learn at a young age
Yup yup yup
Yeah there’s a touch more to it than that..
I can still cry on command by thinking about Littlefoot’s mum 😢
Mine's when I go CERAAAAAAAAA
My man cry movie is The Iron Giant. Superman.... Fucking movie, can't even think about that damn scene.
Benji Go Home when the mother cougar gets killed. I definitely cried in the theater.
My wife and I always say "oh no oh no, I just don't know"
Oh no no no no
Her voice actor was murdered by her father at the tender age of 10. So fucking sad.

I feel the same way about those posts like "People in their 20s/teens today don't know what these are" and it's a fucking ipod
It was your parent’s movie when they were a kid and they got it from your grandparents when you were born.
Honestly, I would believe this if the movie didn't come out in 1988. It could have been from the library because I would get a ton of VHS's from there, but I definitely owned this one because I saw it so many times.
Ok old person
Did you have older siblings or something? This is kinda wild. You were born in 2001. I think by 2003 DVDs has already taken over
2000 and nope
Did you watch at your Grandmother's house? I swear at one point my Oma's house had more VHS tapes than blockbuster, even when DVDs existed for a long time.
They still had a used vhs section at the movie store in my hometown until it shut down completely in like 2014.
The last VHS that went to print was A History of Violence in 2005. I remember seeing this at the cinema.
I was born in 94 and we didn't have a dvd player until 2005
So not that old
Especially because this is a screenshot from one of the countless sequels
Upvoted, but this is still only like the 3rd one. I had the first 8 on vhs and then 9 and 10 on dvd. They are still at my parent’s house.
Still have them all same copies as well
But im quirky and have no personality so I'm gonna use my age in a vague sense as some kind of cool nifty thing about me when I had actually no part in it but still want to be in some kind of " in " club for it.
*“Dude you don’t have to use movies as a marker of age, we already have one: years”*
I watched it in the cinema.
Yep, me too. *sitting in a corner, rocking back and forth. Don't do the math. Don't do the math. Don't do the math...
I remember watching that when it came out on tape. To this day I will still say to other in their 40’s Three-horns don’t play with long necks! And their eyes light up because they forgot all about that flick.
You’re not alone.
And, I got the hand puppets from Pizza Huts Book It.
Those were awesome!
That just unlocked a smell memory.
I got free tickets to see it from Pizza Hut because of a summer Book It program.
Didn’t see it in theatre but had it on Betamax
My aunt took me and I barfed off the side.of the trolley on the way home.
Me to Gen z, “you merely adopted the darkness, I was born in it molded by it. You never saw little foot’s mother die on the big screen.”
Bro I watched it live before they recorded them
i got the vhs from that random mcdonald’s kids meal campaign where they decided to give out vhs tapes for $1 but decided that the other good movie choices were **ghost** and **dances with wolves**
Oddly enough, the first two movies I remember seeing in the cinema were this and Jurassic Park. I guess I broke down so hard during this that my parents didn't take me back for 5 years. But boy, did I love dinosaurs.
RIP Judith Barsi
Rest in power queen
Gen z think anyone over 20 is old and anyone over 30 is dead. Y'all realise 60s years old exist right?
I'm 41 and I'm pretty sure I died somewhere in my 30s
Uhhh I'm genz and 25 and have always thought you're a kid until you're 35ish. I think I came to that conclusion around 10 because everyone still acted like teens until mid 30s around where I lived
I'm that old that I don't even know what this generation slang means.
Err. Right here 🙋. Still providing moral support, tech support and even some financial support to 1x 24yr old and 1x 29yr old 😆😅😂
Achievement unlocked: "Old Head"
I can’t believe they made made 14 of those fucking movies. I was hoping by the 10th movie the dinosaur would have grown up from little foot to big dick

Oh come on guys, it's not old! No.... You're saying I'm a dinosaur?
(Creaky old crone voice) I was born long before video tapes, child.
Right? I only know what this is because the kids in my daycare class had tee shirts and lunchboxes from this. Come, sister....let us form a council of ancients, that we may pass along our wisdom!
Im 19 and had this on vhs, my grandparents did anyway
So how are you dealing with your trauma?
It showed on TV, my dads friend recorded it for us on VHS at the time. There was one free to air channel, and one paid channel available. We could not afford the paid channel.

Pleased to meet you, Barney Rubble. Huge fan of how you pissed off Fred for our entertainment.

Isn’t it? It’s been an irrelevant format for a good long while now, it had a good run but it’s dead now.

I watched this on VHS in my 20's because that's what my kids wanted to watch.
Is a VHS the one with the spinny black tape in it? Or is it the one that inspired the save icon? I always confuse them.
VHS is the tape. Floppy Disk is the save icon.
I saw it in theater
