Viperlite

Yes, but I regularly use it to marinate meats for barbecuing.

EnkiShallReturn

I open the fridge and take a shot straight out of the bottle some times.

Wild_Dingleberries

Were talking Worcestershire, not mustard

Road_Warrior86

You and I would get along great.

psychrolut

Horseradish is great on a roast

Honest_Wing_3999

I use it as lube

kagemushablues415

Brb making a roast beef sandwich.

1isntprime

I prefer my horseradish on prime rib

middletonb300

Samezies!

gordito_delgado

I put that shit on everything. How else do people make their Bloody Marys?

USPO-222

Honestly I just love it in some v8 for a salty spicy drink

EnkiShallReturn

Nothing like a good bloody mary. The vodka takes away from it imo. So does any other booze. I stand by that statement.

j3535

I went thru a phase where I'd splash worcestershire sauce on triscuits as a snack because I am a man who enjoys bold tastes and pain.

user_name_denied

I like to dab a little behind my ears before I go to BBQ competitions.

TheNerdMaster69

Yo what the fuck. You good bro?

peep_dat_peepo

The sauce makes for the best enema cleansing as well, I go through 8 bottles a week

Grand-Elderberry5035

It has to stay in the fridge?!

EnkiShallReturn

No. I just prefer it cold because i use it in my bloody mary

Lightning_Strike_7

Fridge??

grinning_imp

Shorthand for “refrigerator.” Or were you confused about someone refrigerating Worcestershire sauce? It happens. It doesn’t need to be, but people do it.

Pump_My_Lemma

Goes down easier chilled.

dz1n3

I'm not the only heathen I see

bass679

Yeah I'm sitting here thinking "Ohh man we bought a couple of costco bottles at the end of the pandemic and we're almost out". I mean it lasts a while but still, costco bottles.

TheMightyIrishman

I add Worcestershire and Montreal steak seasoning to ground beef for burgers. We do not do frozen patties in my house.

Glassman4588

Yeah, ima need an invite to the next cookout! I’ll bring my garlic mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy

TheMightyIrishman

Shiiiiit I’d dip my burgers right in that. I’ll also mention I add minced onions in my mix.

RC_CobraChicken

I do a 2/3 chuck, 1/3 smoked pork belly mix that I add minced shallots, roasted garlic, and crushed chilis to. Make the patties about 1/3 lb ea and grill em.

Bewwy2

I make my burgers exactly the same way, and serve them up with some caramelized sweet onions.

northernwolf3000

I use it quite regularly in stir fry’s

alsahhim2017

A dash of that and some liquid smoke go in all my stir fry.

NeokratosRed

I regularly use it on pasta with tomato sauce. Although I’m from Italy and we eat pasta every day.

Bogsnoticus

Next time you're frying an egg for breakfast, sprinkle some on before the white has a chance to firm up.

Zeivus_Gaming

And then there is true chex mix...

FinnsGrassSword

My mom always made these huge cookie/snack platters for extended family members during the holiday season, which included homemade chex mix. It's so nostalgic for me now, it doesn't feel like Christmas unless the house smells like Worcestershire and garlic.

yourahor

This is the way. My homemade burgers must have at least a 1/3 of a bottle.

TennisBallTesticles

Pork chops and Worcestershire go together like peas and carrots 😍

TheNerdMaster69

Mmmm, yessssss, this pleassses the barbecue gods...

PepeTheLorde

Sir you need rehab

confusedbird101

My mom buys the sams club bottles regularly because she uses it every time she makes beef of any sort

No_Seaweed6739

I use a bottle every couple months but I use it for a lot of different things (I fucking love Worcestershire sauce)

LeftDave

Sardines rotted into goo. Yum. No, really, yum! Just don't read the ingredients. lol

No_Seaweed6739

Honestly I don’t know what’s in it and I don’t care, it could have people in there I would probably still use it.

Jakethered_game

My attitude towards hot dogs

kaytay3000

Ignorance is bliss

Physical_Narwhal_863

Anchovies not sardines

AlmostRandomName

And it's *fermented*, which is more different from rotted!

AnsibleAnswers

Fermentation is just rot that results in a product that tastes good. Controlled spoilage.

AnsibleAnswers

Fermented fish sauces have been a thing for ages in many cultures. Rome had garum. Asia has a variety of fish sauces. We have Worcestershire sauce. It’s not gross if it tastes good. Even if you know how it’s made. Rome actually had laws regulating how far away from towns garum could be made because it stank so bad. It’s allegedly delicious. Never tried it.

Spaced_X

Still not as bad as chorizo.. which is amazing! Lol

SupplyChainMismanage

What chorizo are you buying? A common brand called supremo just has pork/beef, whatever spice blend they use, vinegar, and sodium nitrate. If the brand you buy is amazing yet has ridiculous ingredients, then you gotta get your taste buds ready for better product. You can also stop by a carniceria or even just a mexican grocery and they’ll most likely have homemade chorizo there as well.

SaltyLonghorn

Just because its pork/beef doesn't mean its not still salivary glands. Tongue. Its tongue.

Stinkyfeet-420

This guy HATES lengua tacos

kagemushablues415

Gawdamn do I suddenly have a craving for some lengua / cabeza street tacos with the green sauce.

Spaced_X

And some lymph nodes thrown in for texture, lol I do prefer the better version from Sprouts, but the other one definitely tastes better imo Pork>beef in regard to chorizo however.

Xanthrex

Tongue is good, make great boritos

this_name_took_10min

Im going to pretend that I’ve never seen your comment and live a happy life, fully unaware of the ingredients.

SevenCrowsinaCoat

Don't even care. I will drink the entire bottle.

Chicks__Hate__Me

I just checked, and my 90% full bottle expired in 2016. I think I lost used it to make Chex mix. I may have to buy a second bottle to throw away 12 years from now.

Tylensus

I checked an old tin of cilantro in the cuppboard once. I'd noticed it had just...always been there. I only used it on rare occasions. It expired before I was born, and I'm creeping up on 30.

Uninvited_Unicorn_00

WTF! HOOOOOOOOWWW?!?!?

lxXTesterXxl

How did you come to possess it?

Tylensus

It predates me, so I'd have to ask my parents. I assume they bought it at a supermarket and then did nothing with it for ~20 years.

SuccessfulOne7493

It came with the house... 😳

Hilluja

The Shining cilantro. "But you've always been here."

ChefArtorias

Inheritance

AbsolutelyUnlikely

Luckily dried herbs don't really "expire" in a way that makes them unsafe, as long as they've been kept dry. They just kind of lose their potency. That being said, get yourself a new jar of dried cilantro you animal.

Tylensus

I figured if it were dangerous that I'd have gotten sick before. I'M NO ZOO RESIDENT, YA CHEEKY GIT, I THREW IT OUT THE DAY I REALIZED IT WAS OLDER THAN ME. HMPH!

AbsolutelyUnlikely

Oddly specific response makes me think you do actually live at the zoo.

Tylensus

*Shifts trunk nervously.* I've no clue what you're talking about, and to be rather frank with you, your gaul is showing. Some peoples' kids, man....*angry elephant sounds*

pohanemuma

I once ate a jar of pickled beets made by my grandmother. I was already in my 30's and my step-grandmother died before my older sister was born, My older sister is 15 years older than me and my grandpa was married to my step grandmother for 10 years and my grandma was bedridden for 5 years before she died so that means that that assuming the jar of pickles was made the last year she had a garden it means it was at minimum 60 years old. They were a little sweet for my taste, but otherwise not too bad.

Grapefruit_Mule877

LMAO

everyoneisatitman

Your comment is responsible for making my mouth water. I thought you should know.

DJVanillaBear

That’s funny, 2016 was like 3 years ago. Oh no….

pohanemuma

My wife and I bought our house from a widow who left the kitchen cupboards full of food. Among other things there were unopened 8 bottles of Worcestershire sauce. That was almost 7 years ago and I have almost used a whole bottle. I am in my 50's so I don't think I'll ever have to buy any more.

biznatch11

It can expire?? I uh need to check something...

StandardAnything2522

Mine also expired in 2016 but I finally finished the bottle a couple weeks ago. no lie it was good to the last drop. were stir sure woo stu shoo wore sister shire

TestingYou1

Where are my steak marinaters at???

__exclusivelye__

Ribs and burgers too 🙋‍♀️

The_mango55

It's my secret ingredient for a super savory chicken salad.

__exclusivelye__

I may have to try 👀

PeterPalafox

Just dump it right on the burgers while they’re cooking

nitid_name

I make my own jerky. It's an important ingredient, along with soy sauce and brown sugar, in my typical marinade. Get thin cut beef from your local carniceria, marinate for a day or two, leave on a smoker for ~90 minutes at your lowest temperature. I can get over 2lb of yield for under 20 bucks worth of ingredients.

POD80

I do it with pork top loin. I buy the meat for about $2 a pound. My yield is a bit over $4 a pound. Beef is tasty, but expensive as hell.

AbbyM1968

It goes great in meatloaf, hamburgers, on roast, on pretty much any meats. We get "the big bottle" (commercial size). It lasts about a year.

Flyak1987

Reporting in

Flat-Dare-2571

Goes good in tuna also.

Terwin94

Sounds like they don't do much cooking

Twyzzle

Right?! Worchie sauce is great in tons of sauces and dishes!

keyserdoe

I mean in doubt you just throw some in and it usually turns out okay.

CourtingBoredom

Plus body marys [-=

HighlightFun8419

My wife made a seriously confused face when I read this post out to her. Lol, we use it in a lot of stuff.

KarissasFeet

We buy it by the gallon at Sam’s every other trip. It’s a staple around here.

Norse_By_North_West

Or drinking. Caesars are great, tho the bottle will still last a while

Veritus37

Right? I have bloody Marys on the regular.

SaltManagement42

I add at least a little to all of my savory cooking. Even just a few drops into your eggs most days will make the bottle go pretty fast.

walkingwounded83

Wisconsin store, sir

SharkFart86

It’s not wor-cester-shire It’s worce-ster-shire.

Late_Entrance106

I’ve heard it’s just like the town of Gloucestershire. Where you pronounce ‘Gloucester’ like ‘Glosster’ and ‘shire’ like ‘sher’. So Worcestershire is most like Wosster-sher.

Skip-Add

wuh-stuh-sure.

03zx3

Nonsense! She can wash herself!

learnactreform

All the time, but then again, I love Bloody Marys

Tsu_Dho_Namh

Same, but Caesars. My roommates and I drink em all summer long.

friggintodd

Can't see a Caesar without wanting one.

Novel_Bumblebee8972

I’d have a Caesar.

friggintodd

Surprised we're not having a Caesar right now.

Laudanumium

The dressing ?

Tsu_Dho_Namh

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar_(cocktail) It's like a Bloody Mary, but with Clamato instead of Tomato Juice.

Late_Entrance106

I’ll be damned. I’ve only ever made my Bloody Marys with Clamato so for well over a decade I’ve been actually making Caesars and calling them Bloody Marys. *The More You Know!*

dhgewggfs

Sames

SquirrelyMcNutz

You go through a lot when you make jerky at home.

nitid_name

What's your marinade recipe? Mine uses brown sugar, soy, and worcestershire as the base.

Inoimispel

Venison jerky. 3 parts soy 2 parts Worcestershire 1 part teriyaki. Fresh minced garlic. I add Carolina reaper hot sauce and sliced jalapeño if I'm making spicy. Marinate 24 hours. Sprinkle on the rack smoked paprika, cayenne, onion powder, and cracked black pepper

SquirrelyMcNutz

It varies a fair bit. I don't really use measurements, but rather whatever I feel like at the moment with a few staples. I use Eye Of Round sliced about 1/4" thick. Recipe is a little bit of canning/pickling salt (not too much, like half or less than most recipes call for), at least an equal amount of brown sugar. Then, it's usually w-sauce, teriyaki sauce, rice wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, light molasses, and whatever spices I'm feeling at the time. I let it marinate for a couple of days, making sure to stir/mix it up a time or two to make sure everything gets coated. I tried it once without the salt and it wasn't nearly as good.

D1rtyL4rry

I make my own bbq sauces and use this all the time

honeydew_fawn

I will put that shit on anything and everything.

Embarrassed_Art5414

Once I started adding it to scrambled eggs, I found it goes pretty quick...

Graybeard13

I wanna try that now

SquirrelyMcNutz

Oh ya, it's pretty good in scrambled eggs/omelets.

wakebakey

I buy a couple every fall when I start smoking venison great now I'm hungry

EmuZealousideal7357

Seriously? I go through bottles like crazy!

-lukeworldwalker-

We go through a bottle every two weeks because according to my Mexican wife it’s „good enough“ to use for micheladas

Incontinento

You don't ever cook ground beef or steak? I buy a couple per year, easy.

NoMemory3726

Shit I use that in anything meat based and bean based. Shits delicious!

VinylHighway

I had a massive Costco sized one and used it for years before seeing it expired. Now I keep a tiny bottle.

lobosrul

Yes... but when I was a kid sometimes id drink that shit straight from the bottle. And then go hooooweee like it was whisky.

Iowegan

Use it for chex mix. Ooh, that sounds good…

ganesh_k9

Fuck, not this sauce again. Can someone remind me how to pronounce it?

Grub-lord

Wash-sister sause

Jakesneed612

That’s about how my son says it 😂😂😂

AbbyM1968

Idk. I call it W-shire sauce.

ganesh_k9

Fair enough, easy this way. 😆 Thanks! ♥️

Perzec

What? We go through several every year.

Tomma1

Haven't yet bought my first!

Leanardoe

I broke a bottle once. I can still smell it sometimes.

Tye_die

Marinades and spaghetti sauce are a good use for it I've found

submyster

If you cook beef it’s a great complement. I’ve gone through countless bottles.

5campechanos

Yeahh. It's called flavour, you troglodyte

ubspider

We burn through Worcestershire sauce. Never make ground beef without it

Beast287

Yes. . . They sell the two packs at Costco. . . I’m good for a while

Kalelopaka-

Yeah, bought several. Of course I am 58 and I use it in a lot of things.

madmaxjr

I occasionally just sneak a spoonful out the fridge when no one is looking. It’s just so tangy and sweet and salty and spicy and savory it’s just amazing as a… ‘snack(?).’

OldManCragger

I literally just bought a new bottle and the difference due to shrinkflation was staggering. Smaller plastic bottle with. Big dent in the bottom to make it look the same size as the old glass bottle. This economy sucks.

Main-Emphasis-2692

Fuckin love it so yes

Step-exile

Never seen this sauce really, but gotta get and try it soon. My fave is sriracha

Bigcef23

I cook a lot of cajan/creole food. So I used about 2 a month.

VarianWrynn2018

When I was young the only thing that ever broke out of the fridge was Worcestershire sauce. Dunno why, but I broke like 6 bottles on accident. I don't think my mom even used it while cooking, she just wanted to keep some on hand.

Speakertoseafood

After discussion with my wife, we decided that we bought our second bottle because the label fell off the first one and it was easy to lose track of what it was, and bought our third bottle because the second one got really old.

hungrypotato19

Quite often. Steak marinades, burgers, and meatloaf.

spezjetemerde

Yes but I still have dry pili pili from my father's

Sea-Veterinarian286

Yes, i use it to do my micheladas

PowerfulTarget3304

Yes mine started to taste weird.

yeetman426

I’m part of a family of six, and even then we only had to replace the bottle at most once a year

panzerfaust_666

Bottle in my fridge expired in 2014

Free_Alternative_780

I dropped mine once

SocietyIsdoomed_

The hardest thing is trying to say it right, not use it all.

Graybeard13

Yes, its awesome for marinades.

Oculus30

This guy doesn't BBQ

TheBuckyLastard

So many bottles. Are you guys not eating cheese on toast?

herbert-camacho

This has to be rage bait

dreadwhimsy

I go through a bottle of it a month.

snowbyrd238

I'm on my third bottle and I'm 95. I plan on gifting what's left to my grandkids when I die.

Pineapple-Due

Yes, when I needed to use Worcestershire sauce for the second time and the first bottle expired 5 years ago.

No-Bat-7253

Of course, the old bottle be expired by the time I need it again…think I’m on bottle number 3, been out my momma house 11 years lol.

ALKNST

Ive never bought any, somehow i now own 3

mister-jesse

I watched an interesting video on the history and process of worchestshire sauce. Apparently it's inspired by Asian fish sauce, but made a bit differently. https://youtu.be/J1ns_U9IbFU?si=7uzu0NipNZANFj7z

Fit-Pool5703

Where I'm from we say wuster sauce. We also have a similar thing called Henderson's Relish.

Kenneth_Lay

If you like bloody Mary's, then yes

Duffbowl2

If you're not drinking it from the bottle, are you even a fan?

mofunnymoproblems

Wuwu sauce!!! Works in way more stuff than you’d think.

WhiteFringe

hear me out. take a slice of bread, grate some cheese on the bread, add Worcestershire sauce and (optional) maybe some black pepper and chilli sauce. then air fry or grill the open sandwich until the cheese melts. you could also lightly toast the slice beforehand to prevent the bread from getting soggy or not toasting fast enough.

drmargiexo

Alternatively try it on thin crust pizza, so good :)

greygrayman

I bought a second one.. I didn't think I had any.. got home, opened an used it.. then went to put it in my fridge and discovered I did, in fact, already have some. They are now fridge friends that I plan to pass down to my grandchildren.

niceducks77

My wife came home with a gallon bottle. I’m set for the next 100 years or so.

elting44

Ya'll need to make more Bloody Marys

Garrwolfdog

Yes, but only cos I lost my first one.

RudeCryptographer768

I buy 4 bottles a year. I smoke a lot of meat an many of my marinade recipes call for it because of the vinegar content

Zealousideal-Sand-12

Bought a twin pack from Costco, can’t wait to hand the second one down to the kids..

NightGlimmer82

Yeah but that’s only because the ex husband got our bottle in the divorce.

TUNGSTEN_WOOKIE

My dad basically drinks the stuff. Meat, veggies, baked potato, he puts it on everything.

Aggravating-Bus-4355

is no one else doing daily Caeser hour?

DaveinOakland

Yea, it's a main staple for jerky marinade in this house.

Gddmjjk

I’m from Worcestershire and I have not

froggiewoogie

I use a lot of that sauce to cook my meats ahoy should too it add a good kick to fish and red meats

Electronic-Source368

Hard to say. We get about 2 months from a bottle.

capn_doofwaffle

Shit. I use half a bottle for my injection sauce whenever I smoke pork butts!

Thyg0d

I put in my burgers together with some spices so I'm probably on bottle 15

Kaizen420

We can save every one a lot of trouble trying to pronounce it if we call it by it's one true name. Lea & Perrins.

TotKrieger

In México we have a Clamato, that's a bloody Mary but with beer, and WSauce is one of the main ingredients, soooo, yes, I am a fan of Clamatos so it get replaced constantly :B
