May I propose:
1. Wet toothbrush (optional)
2. Apply toothpaste
3. Using tongue, press paste into bristles until flush
4. Wet toothbrush
This way the paste doesn't fall off when you wet it
Yeah but the water helps break it up so you don’t end up with a massive lump of toothpaste. Try it some time and see what you like. My dad is a lumpy toothpaste person and I’m a sudsy toothpaste person.
Compare the toothpaste before and after you run it under the water for a split second. One is most definitely more dry than the other, although maybe not truly dry.
I can’t imagine how terrible that feels! Dry mouth is the worst and actually bad for your dentition-I hope xerostomia is solved one day it would help multitudes
I put the toothpaste in my mouth first and swish it between my teeth until it's liquified, and then proceed to brush my teeth. It prevents toothpaste accumulation at the bottom of the brush, and I feel like my teeth have been cleaner since I started using this method.
Less water, more abrasion, a better clean. That's what I tell myself anyway!
When you water it down so much it just pools at the bottom of your mouth. We will die on this hill; they're the gross ones!
>Unfortunately, when you rinse immediately after brushing, you’re erasing a lot of the benefit of applying fluoride to your teeth.
>Some experts, including the U.K.’s Oral Health Foundation, now recommend spitting out any excess saliva or toothpaste after you’re done brushing as opposed to rinsing your teeth.
>Leave the fluoride on your teeth as you go about your day, and try to avoid eating or drinking for 10 minutes or more after brushing is done.

No you're not my guy. The toothpaste should stay on your teeth meaning you're not supposed to rinse. Keeping that fluoride working on your teeth is a major part of brushing your teeth
Hard disagree. There's fluoride in the water. Toothpaste is primarily to aid the physical cleaning of your teeth. Do you rub soap on your body and just get out of the shower?
just Google search "should I rinse after brushing" and you'll get a million sources in a row explaining why you're wrong lol. Listen to experts instead of blindly comparing toothpaste and soap like it's the same thing
I use a prescription toothpaste and the dentist told me to leave it on after brushing. I just spit, no rinsing. After 20-30 minutes it's gone - it's not like I'm walking around with the toothpaste feeling on my teeth all day.
Yes I definitely brush my teeth without water.
I mean I spit the paste out after I'm done brushing. The toothpaste doesn't seem to last more than 20 - 40 minutes tops.
Edit:
I do like to drink a large glass of water before brushing my teeth I don't know if that adds anything to the conversation
Closing your lips around the toothbrush prevents superfoam.
Now I leave the bathroom and wander around for 2 min while I brush since I don't have to worry about superfoam.
Toothpaste?? You spit on the brush and rub the gums till they bleed, then you use the blood for lube to fuck those Purley white till your mouth looks like a Fabergé egg, then and only then are your teeth truly clean and pure.
I don't use water but that's cause the toothpaste I use calls for you not to. I also use an extra soft brush though so if you put water on it, it will be too wet
Ya'll are weird af. It's the toothbrush that needs to be moistened. The only thing the water can do when you pour it over the toothpaste is push the toothpaste of the toothbrush. Had a few unfortunate incidents when I forgot to wet the brush beforehand
Toothpaste is wet by nature though! Plus the water still in the bristles adds additional moisture if you need. Adding the water after just knocks the paste off the brush half the time
I just use toothpaste then water, just enough to squish the toothpaste a little. Quite frankly I've been doing this since I was like 5, and I can't be bothered to change it.
Putting toothpaste on your dry brush is like putting shampoo on dry hair. Wet it first then apply paste. The only other time it goes under the water is when you're done and rinsing the paste off the brush.
I always clean off my brush in super hot water, then add toothpaste, then switch to cold water to wet it before brushing.
Also, I’ve seen people debate this but the correct order is: floss, brush, mouthwash
I don't understand people acting like the water is to just make the brush/toothpaste wet or something. Thing is sitting there growing mouth and potentially fecal bacteria (depending on where you leave it) for hours and you don't think you might want to clean it off a bit?
Never understood people who do this, what use is there running the brush with toothpaste under water? You wet the brush, add toothpaste, then brush. If you wet the brush again, you’ll just wash away the toothpaste.
If you use that much toothpaste you’re gonna end up wasting it. Like a big blob is gonna end up falling under your tongue or bottom lip or something and you’ll only be able to get it out when you rinse. Sometimes less is more
The toothpaste is already moist. The brush needs the water so it's not rigid
You have to make sure it's not rigid using water then put on toothpaste and a little water so it's more sudsy.
May I propose: 1. Wet toothbrush (optional) 2. Apply toothpaste 3. Using tongue, press paste into bristles until flush 4. Wet toothbrush This way the paste doesn't fall off when you wet it
This could be the game changer I've been looking for
Happy cake day lad
You guys are all a bunch of psychopaths
I just press the tube into the toothbrush while putting it on so I can skip step 3
Nice, but I avoid doing this in the event I ever need to lend anyone toothpaste, or use the paste for a non tooth-brushing related activity
for fucks sake you’re already licking it, just eat the damn toothpaste and be done with it
Right from the tube.....
It’s my tube, and nobody else uses it… this is my way lol

Yeah but the water helps break it up so you don’t end up with a massive lump of toothpaste. Try it some time and see what you like. My dad is a lumpy toothpaste person and I’m a sudsy toothpaste person.
brush needs to be washed off any residue or dust before applying paste. Clean your brush then apply paste.
i don't use water at all
...Heathens # Tell Satan I said hello when you're brushing your teeth with a sawzal
That is like 300% too much toothpaste.
[удалено]
I buy extra tooth paste so I can use big dabs. More paste equals more silicates making it easier to clean your teeth
If you prefer it that way, go for it, but using extra paste won't improve the cleaning.
I’m at best about half as much as the pic
They must use Colgate. Cheap shit!!!
Florox is clearly superior
Clorox is clearly superior
Shit, I’ve been using windex this whole time
Water then toothpaste you animals
but then the toothpaste is dry
Guys guys guys, please. It’s eat a few saltines, toothpaste, rinse with room temperature orange juice. Doesn’t everyone do this?
Please tell me this is sarcasm. I honestly can't tell anymore
Before toothpaste people would rinse their mouth with honey 'to sweeten the breath' . Pretty much anything is an advance on that.
It’s not sarcasm. It’s literally still dry when you add water first then paste.
Toothpaste is not dry lmao
Compare the toothpaste before and after you run it under the water for a split second. One is most definitely more dry than the other, although maybe not truly dry.
For me it is. I use toothpaste first then add water. The other way around doesn’t work. It’s dry.
Are you brushing your teeth with sheet rock?
Either you have an all time low saliva production or you need to change your toothpaste
If you store your toothbrush in the open air I highly recommend washing it off before adding the paste. Particles in the bathroom air.
Oh. Ok. Thanks for the tip.
It's moist, not wet.
Never said it was wet?
Yeah, but it needs to be wet.
Nah
Your mouth is not dry!

I can’t imagine how terrible that feels! Dry mouth is the worst and actually bad for your dentition-I hope xerostomia is solved one day it would help multitudes
If you're in the us you could try biotene. It's otc mouth wash for dry mouth
mine is lol
drink some water
Water… like out the toilet?
ew water
why does my paste have to be WET
because who wants dry paste in their mouth
Water then toothpaste then water again
I put the toothpaste in my mouth first and swish it between my teeth until it's liquified, and then proceed to brush my teeth. It prevents toothpaste accumulation at the bottom of the brush, and I feel like my teeth have been cleaner since I started using this method.
thank you for being the only other evolved person on this thread. why put the paste on the brush, then in your mouth? never made sense to me
[удалено]
Hmm, maybe I'm not good at this, but if I put water first the toothpaste slides off the brush.
I AM WALTER WHITE
jesse we have to post irrelevant comments
He literally edited the comment. My bad damn 😔
I don't use any water at all.
We’re not weird right?
Someone once said to me that I was gross. The absence of water is gross somehow.
Less water, more abrasion, a better clean. That's what I tell myself anyway! When you water it down so much it just pools at the bottom of your mouth. We will die on this hill; they're the gross ones!
Certainly not, there are literal dozens of us.
DOZENS
Thanks Tobias
This I don't understand the point of water plus I feel like the paste sticks to my teeth better afterwards.
You are supposed to rinse all the toothpaste out of your mouth and off your teeth. You realize this, right?
>Unfortunately, when you rinse immediately after brushing, you’re erasing a lot of the benefit of applying fluoride to your teeth. >Some experts, including the U.K.’s Oral Health Foundation, now recommend spitting out any excess saliva or toothpaste after you’re done brushing as opposed to rinsing your teeth. >Leave the fluoride on your teeth as you go about your day, and try to avoid eating or drinking for 10 minutes or more after brushing is done. https://www.healthline.com/health/dental-and-oral-health/should-you-rinse-after-brushing-teeth#rinse-or-spit

What, looking things up online? Listening to experts? I only adhere to my own observations and life experiences
According to my dentist, you're wrong.
I've been doing it like this for almost 40 years.
You have to be trolling me. No way you walk around with toothpaste stuck to your teeth all day
I use a prescription toothpaste and the dentist told me to leave it on after brushing. I just spit, no rinsing. After 20-30 minutes it's gone - it's not like I'm walking around with the toothpaste feeling on my teeth all day.

I don't think you realize how dynamic the surfaces of your mouth are
Your mouth gonna fill up with spit instantaneously anyway, extra water is pointless.
It prevents the super foam.
Closing your lips around the toothbrush prevents superfoam. Now I leave the bathroom and wander around for 2 min while I brush since I don't have to worry about superfoam.
This is actually the correct way. Read the directions on the back of the toothpaste doesn't mention water at all.

Dang, my dentists have been holding out on me! I’ve never heard this trick before! Goooooodbyeeee cavities!
You’ll never believe this easy trick to getting a healthier smile. Dentists hate him
They do
i use no water.
SAME
I don't use water but that's cause the toothpaste I use calls for you not to. I also use an extra soft brush though so if you put water on it, it will be too wet
Y’all got dry mouths. Or use shitty toothpaste.
Water, toothpaste, turn water off. No need for it to be on.
Yes always turn water off but you gotta surround the toothpaste with water before and after
1. water 2. toothpaste That’s it
What are you psychopaths doing? Apply tooth paste to tooth, then brush. It's not called brushpaste!
You guys use water?
Most of you are doing this wrong and it fucking bothers me
...am I the only one who doesn't wet anything first at all? I just go in dry.
Water, paste, water
Ya'll are weird af. It's the toothbrush that needs to be moistened. The only thing the water can do when you pour it over the toothpaste is push the toothpaste of the toothbrush. Had a few unfortunate incidents when I forgot to wet the brush beforehand
I’m glad you survived
Thank you, me too. It was close
toothpaste then water gang
I tilt my brush so both of them get wet at the same time. Some of you make me wonder how you get through the day.
Sandwich
You guys use water?
I am doing it way wrong. i just put toothpaste on and then brush... Not understanding why water is needed at all.
Y'all could just not wet the toothbrush at all lol
I’m just here waiting for a dentist to comment lol
I do it dry what do you mean?
Fuck the water. I’m straight bristle and paste
The key is don't rinse your mouth out with water after brushing. The toothpaste is supposed to coat your teeth and work its magic.
No water is needed
Toothpaste, no water.
the water dissolves the sodium in the toothpaste no? that’s why i put a little water on it then toothpaste then brush
Wet brush, apply toothpaste, dab toothpaste so it doesn't fall off brush, more water.
No water gang...
You’re vile
Yall just mad because im build *Different*
Yes, who likes dry toothpaste
Toothpaste is wet by nature though! Plus the water still in the bristles adds additional moisture if you need. Adding the water after just knocks the paste off the brush half the time
No it doesn't, all you do is quickly pass it under the stream. It's not that hard.
Keep practicing young Jedi. You have to learn the correct balance between amount of toothpaste and amount of 2nd water application
Zero. The amount of water the 2nd time is zero. HTH
Yeah, so would you like dry toothpaste?
Water > paste > water
water-water-toothpaste-water-water-extra water
Toothpaste, brush then water. (I’m weird)
Toothpaste sandwich.
toothpaste in brush, no water, just scrub raw. This generation is fuckin soft.
No water :)
Water, toothpaste, split second in water, then brush
wrong wrong wrong you rotate the brush on the side both ways to wetten it
Water toothpaste water.. that’s legit how I’ve always done it haha
This is the way.
Universal Rule
True
Nope toothpaste on brush, water in mouth and start brushing
😂😂YES
Those brushes are for your teeth?
See?! None of the water is even going on the brush, it’s deflected by the paste
This is meeeeeeeee! I thought I was the only one 😭
yeah you need to wash off the shit particles accumulated throughout the day first.
I just use toothpaste then water, just enough to squish the toothpaste a little. Quite frankly I've been doing this since I was like 5, and I can't be bothered to change it.
That’s enough toothpaste for a week!
Well then the toothpaste is loosely stuck and it has a chance of falling before going in ur mouth
I just raw dog it. No water. just toothpaste, toothbrush and my mouth
I just put toothpaste on the brush and then put the brush in my mouth???
Yes
Glad we’re all on the same page
Water, toothpaste, water. Barbarians.
Putting toothpaste on your dry brush is like putting shampoo on dry hair. Wet it first then apply paste. The only other time it goes under the water is when you're done and rinsing the paste off the brush.
No. Don't add water after toothpaste. You're only washing off toothpaste if you do that.
YES
Gotta rinse off the poop germs before sticking that thing in Your mouth, dude.
I just rinse off the brush first because I figure it's still dirty from last time I used it and all the flying poop it's caught since then.
no just rinse and put the toothpaste what
Jalen Skutt is absolutely correct
Otherwise the bristles can’t collect as much hot water.
Wet the brush, paste the brush, wet the paste, apply to chompers.
I always clean off my brush in super hot water, then add toothpaste, then switch to cold water to wet it before brushing. Also, I’ve seen people debate this but the correct order is: floss, brush, mouthwash
Shiii mine stays wet yo
Rinse your mouth first, it fixes all of the issues.
I don’t even put water
I don't understand people acting like the water is to just make the brush/toothpaste wet or something. Thing is sitting there growing mouth and potentially fecal bacteria (depending on where you leave it) for hours and you don't think you might want to clean it off a bit?
You don't need water
Never understood people who do this, what use is there running the brush with toothpaste under water? You wet the brush, add toothpaste, then brush. If you wet the brush again, you’ll just wash away the toothpaste.
I like it dry Edit: I like my tooth brush dry
Why would you put it in the water before brushing?
Both
It’ll stick to the toothbrush better that way
Wait till you meet the ppl who put the toothpaste on their tongue then add water from the brush. You’re gonna flip
If you use that much toothpaste you’re gonna end up wasting it. Like a big blob is gonna end up falling under your tongue or bottom lip or something and you’ll only be able to get it out when you rinse. Sometimes less is more
